Americans, you wont make children with your finger!
Misho
There are lots of false information being spread. There are lots of anger, hate and pointing fingers. This is not the way children are made. This is how children behave.
To make one thing clear: Atlantis has NOT condemned the US attack on Mexico.
Stop mix things up, you are Atlantis, we are Atlantis - we are it together as nations. But most importantly together as citizens.
The Atlantis Treaty is a Gentle Mens agreement, just as the whole alliance is. Its built on trust, loyalty, friendship and the willingness to help each other out. Its a set of rules we have agreed on in order to give a little guidance how we shall interact with each other. No one can force you to follow them other than yourself.
If some few citizens without formal positions, no matter current or former eNationality, can create all this fuss so the eAmericans no longer see Atlantis as something good, something that helps them, something worth fighting for. Then perhaps we are not worthy to stay together.
Perhaps you should do what Emerick has worked so hard for meanwhile he has been buddy with Franco and fought against your alliance both on the battlefield as well as in words.
It's like a relationship.
Either you are in it with your heart or you leave it. You can't hate it and still be in it - that will hurt both yourself and your alliance. We have already trashed the china so there is no point denying for our neighbors that we have a quarrel in the family.
If America do not want to be part of Atlantis so leave it.
No one forced you to be in it. You volunteered to join it and you have played a big part of building it to what it is today. If you don't like what it is today you have the greatest of opportunities to change it from the inside. If you believe in the member countries and that they and you should work together, then take that chance.
Canada
Croatia
Finland
Greece
Israel
Norway
Poland
Romania
Spain
Sweden
UK
USA
You are not only invited, you are already inside. But I have still not seen any concrete suggestion to change the Treaty you seem to hate so much. Or any American willing to step up as Atlantis Secretary General to fix whats broken or as Atlantis Supreme Commander now when you had the chance.
I won't fight for you to stay if you do not want to.
To me it sounds like most of you point fingers and blaming 'it', like Atlantis was something apart form USA. Like it had payed bureaucrats unwilling to listen or adapt.
We are playing a game here, together. What you put into it is what you get out from it.
It was USA's choice to attack Mexico just as it was Romanias choice to attack Indonesia.
Atlantis members have no obligation to help each other on offensive attacks or on defense on foreign ground. They are free to make agreements with each other and discuss attacks in planned joint operations as much as they like. They are free to ask for support before hands. Hell, they are free to sign bi lateral attack agreements if they would like to do that.
But with the current Gentle Mens agreement we have, no member country has the right to first attack and then start to whine if some member country isn't interested in helping out in the attack.
At least not if it wants to keep some kind of dignity.
Frankly I think thats why USA was voted to pay the fee, USA broke the treaty and instead of admitting it and apologize it started to point fingers and accuse.
In some member eyes USA lost it's dignity.
You can either be mad and walk away, or you can stay and fight for the relationship and perhaps build it stronger than it has ever been before. Not to mention how utterly annoyed, miserable and jealous your taunting neighbors will be when they instead of the sound of quarrel and broken china hear the sound of real good make up sex.
Cheers!
Misho

It's like a relationship with a girl that cheated on you.
I'm with you, Misho. We need each other now more than ever. Together we can make the alliance stronger.
So why did we pay the damned fine? If you aren't going to help us when we are in need, then there is no reason for the damned treaty in the first place!
@Hari: Here, here.
@Eugene: We do need each other. NOW! So where the hell is this alliance we just bought and paid for. We attacked Mexico, and PEACE is now attacking us. Time to step forward and fight, if ATLANTIS means anything at all...
I say we follow the rules and pay the fine...... on day 9,871. Either that or after Spain and Romania pay.
@Javier
Correction: PEACE is attacking Mexico. You know, the country that is a member of PEACE that we invaded? I was and still am for the war in Mexico, but so far Portugal hasn't set foot on American soil yet, which is why our MPPs haven't triggered.
Great as always.
Make-up sex, Atlantis.
@Sir: If the treaty only protects the original boundaries of each country, then its not worth the paper its printed on.

"It was USA's choice to attack Mexico just as it was Romanias choice to attack Indonesia. "
The two are entirely different, Misho. Other nations expect us to send assistance to Romania even when we are involved in our own war. We have been flamed as a country that is not in it for our alliance, and sometimes I feel like this is true. Yes, we are friends, but this relationship is going downhill.
Breaking up doesn't mean the end of the world; if the US was to leave Atlantis, we would say "It's not you, it's us." As you've said, we have embarrassed ourselves with our actions. Our military, our leaders, and our attitudes have been anything but stellar. If the US were to leave Atlantis, we would remain friendly with as many nations that would be willing to remain friendly.
The US and Sweden have been good friends for quite some time, and I do not think that we would become enemies anytime in the near future if we left; I can say the same with more than half, if not all, of the nations of Atlantis. Hell, I can even say the same about some Peace countries.
I for one am sort of annoyed that the US had to pay the penalty fees to Atlantis, but for reasons not as obvious. When I was president under America for two terms, I kept almost constant communication with presidents, MoFAs, and even MoDs. The mere fact that nothing was mentioned to ANY of the Atlantis nations prior to this is scary. It proves that the values that you mention in this article - friendship, loyalty, courtesy (etc) are quite possibly losing their prevalence and relativity in our alliance.
I applaud your efforts to maintain friendly relations, I just believe that change right now would help us, shed new light and new opportunities.
Well put, Benn.
The Atlantis Treaty is a Gentle Mens agreement? Gentle Mens? Where are they? Because Uncle Sam give me his word TWO times, and he lie TWO time. Maybe all the Gentle Mens, leave America after sign the Treaty!!
"I do not think that we would become enemies anytime in the near future if we left; I can say the same with more than half, if not all, of the nations of Atlantis. Hell, I can even say the same about some Peace countries."
To which "some Peace countries" are you referring ? Because I truly doubt this is true....or you can only "say it" which does not make it a fact.
Excellent article Misho! I hope the US stays with Atlantis and makes it work. In the end either pay up and make this Work - or quit bitching and leave... Its really not that hard guys.
Make the right decision and stick with it!
USA have to stay in the alliance there in no other choice. At least not now. There is no other choice for USA and for Atlantis.
I couldn't have said it better myself Misho. Great article. 😁
@Dishmcds, it might not be what it was... but it sure isn't what you say neither. 🙂
Remember that the Atlantis treaty is made to allow us to work as an defensive alliance. But, if USA/Romania/Spain would need help in attacking another country Sweden and several others are often ready to do that. We have inflicted about 70 points per active voter on average (tanks exkluded) in our operations in foreign countries the last days. That is how commited we are to support our allies.
To put that number in context that would mean Romania hitting 139000 points, USA hitting 136000 points or UK hitting 54000 points on foreign ground to help their allies!
We do however not expect that kind of dedication from everyone, each country have their own efforts to deal with. But we do hope that the average Joe understands that by making that kind of efforts to support our allies, Sweden is very much commited to make our best to keep Atlantis the allince that we are proud of.
Atlantis is by no means meant to be an alliance that forces it's members to any other actions than to defend it's allies when they are attacked. Nor to we prohibit any of our allies actions to expand, we just want to be informed and by that perhaps participate and support.
Still, the whole thing regarding the fine started as a "flame war" and I hope we can put that behind us. We have bigger issues to focus on than a violation of the treaty, I'd rather focus on the future than the past. Learn from the past and and create the future, together!
Unity guys 🙂
Great article..but i`m afraid USA it`s not that willing to stay in Atlantis.. that`s spoken loud everywhere in their media..
so eUSA join PEACE right? xixixi ^o^ cmon lets kick eRomania out of the map, it goin to be fun xixixi ^o^
wkakakakakakaa,

We all that in this game talking and beauracratic processes will get you no where. For one thing, it's too easy to spy and two the game goes too fast to talk about it. Whatever constitution Atlantis runs by should ammended to reflect this. The eTimetable is not the same as RW timetable and we know this.
If you need some better ideas, point me in the direction of where I can apply to be Sec'y General or Supr. Commander.
A.D Davis, talk to your President, MoD or MoFA.
Sorry I missed this Misho, I am going to delete mine so it hits top 5 this morning.
You guys have be awesome throughout this war. Your aid is greatly appreciated and I hope we can continue to build better relations with all Atlantis countries.
Our media has been extremely vocal yes, but I think this quote from Kape 😁^ pretty much sums up my attitude about the Atlantis issue.

well said sir.
Catchy title Btw. lol
*applauds*
The eUS media is full of dissenting views. That's what we do. We're radicals, at nature.
However, we can't seem to moderate ourselves when it's time to be radical and time to put our heads together and critically think. I'm with the majority of you on this one:
Let's start making some babies. 😉
The only Americans involved in ATLANTIS, are the leaders. eUSA is a democracy, how are we suppose to get along well we are in some group that operates so secretly and blames us for all its problems. If allies like ATLANTIS, who needs enemies? Seriously, the US has owned up, but we deserve an apology. AT ANTIS leaders needed to stick up for us when then war starts. I don't expect material support, but would it kill our allies to lend moral support. The fine thing is Uncle Sam's fault, but ATLANTIS was down hill before then. Insulting eUSA will not bring us together, just drive us apart
Well put Misho and Kape...voted
2 countries voted to have us pay the fine, hardly a majority by any definition of the word. This is the biggest reason I am against paying the fine to ANYONE!!! There will be no more unity in ATLANTIS, this is but the first step to culling this fattened cow of an alliance.
Unity plz! Heed PEACE!
Uncle Sam should PERSONALLY pay the fines for being a dumb@$$ and not giving notice. THAT would be the "gentlemanly" thing to do.
Well, Sam - dip into mommy's credit card account and pay up, brother.
As a Congressman, I'll always vote to keep us in ATLANTIS, this war should be a wake up call that we can't survive without them.

Who is the newscaster in the newspaper avatar? I've seen her somewhere before....

>Who is the newscaster in the newspaper avatar? I've seen her somewhere before....
She's Mélissa Theuriau, the reason I keep reading Misho's articles. Ok, the articles are great too 😉
So as I'm sure that few of you are aware, PEACE GC is going to try and 'teach us a lesson' once Portugal finally has a border with us. Considering how we've mostly seen the strength of their reserves so far, plus a part of the Theocrats, maybe it is time that we drop the high and mighty attitude and be happy that we have allies.
Instead, we should start arguing about getting a Q5 DS in California before it's too late.
it's allready too late

@ Misho:
I'm not going to read through all the comments on here, but will respond to the article directly instead. I should reiterate to anyone that doesn't know, I'm Misho & Sweden's biggest fan now because I'm the Ambassador to Sweden, but because I like everything I see out of them.
Back on topic, you say that no one from the US has suggested how to amend the treaty. You know this isn't true. As soon as I was linked to the treaty and read it, I suggested an "emergency" clause provision that allows us to notify you once we have proposed the war declaration in-game. You said you liked this idea, but I've seen nothing more from anyone on it. I don't have access to Atlantis, so I can only make recommendations.
To that point, though, you say that no American has been willing to step up and be Atlantis Secretary General or Atlantis Supreme Commander. Seriously? I don't even know of any of the positions involved in the alliance. But, if no other American will step up, then, what the hell... I will. I'll do whatever it takes to get this thing fixed. Because, personally, I don't see any viable solution other than Atlantis choosing to keep EITHER the UK & Poland OR Us. I don't see how it can be both at this point.
Javier Da Silva sai😛 "@Sir: If the treaty only protects the original boundaries of each country, then its not worth the paper its printed on."
Tricky! Tricky! The treaty isn't written on paper.
It's electronic.
Voted and subscribed!
cant we get a mulligan? a three strikes ur fined???
@ Benn:
I have to agree. Atlantis, I think it's time to "see other people". And again, it's not you, it's us. We're not good enough for you. The 900 gold aside, we just don't feel we can keep you in the style you deserve.
Seriously, there are some countries in Atlantis that plain don't like us. And I'm not just talking about the failed Mexico adventure. MPP's may activate if/when California or Florida is attacked, but if an ally doesn't like us, they won't send help. No one can force that.
We should leave Atlantis, in a civilized way, and maintain MPP's with our true allies, like Sweden, and maybe even some countries not in Atlantis.
There is a third way.
And, Atlantis, your 900 gold makes a lovely parting gift, I think.
hey i think peace is tryign to say there helping mexico but basically are jsut taking it over for there own personal gains
hey i think peace is tryign to say there helping mexico but basically are jsut taking it over for there own personal gains
I would like to propose some ammendments to the Atlantis Treaty (if there is a better place to make these proposals please let me know):
The Davis Ammendments:
+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=
Article VI
Aggression
Declarations of war
All declarations of war by a member nation of ATLANTIS must be announced to the alliance at least 48 hours prior to declaring the war. Permission is not needed to declare war.
Shall be ammended to:
Article VI
Aggression
Declarations of war
All declarations of war by a member nation of ATLANTIS must be announced to the alliance at least 6 hours prior to declaring the war. Permission is not needed to declare war.
[Reason: Spies and treason make it hard for member nations to declare war without giving away vital information and ruining war timetables. A short announce period will aid in catching the enemy off guard.]
+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=
+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=
Article VII
Treaty Violation
Punishment for violation
Any nation responsible for breaching articles I, V, and VI are obligated to pay a sum of 100 GOLD to each other member nation, unless voted otherwise with a 4/5 majority of the remaining membership.
Shall be ammended to:
Article VII
Treaty Violation
Punishment for violation
Any nation responsible for breaching articles I, V, and VI are obligated to pay a sum of 800 GOLD, unless voted otherwise with a 4/5 majority of the remaining membership.
[Reason: As more member nations are added, it would not make sense financially to keep adding 100 GOLD to the fine.]
@Misho great article. I only see great stuff coming from you..
@BennDover new avatar again??? 😮
DEATH TO ATLANTIS
Never have I seen in my life so much respect paid to incompetence and failure. People of eUSA, you are in deep trouble! A bunch of egocentric adventurists have lead you - the most populous and economically strong of the eNations - to a series of dismal defeats at the hands of third-rate eWorld powers. They fast-talk you into miscalculated and unnecessary wars, siphon the nation's resources into private pet-projects, boast profusely with their mediocre achievements and apologize reluctantly and insincerely for their frequent blatant mistakes. They make and carry out important decisions behind closed doors in total disregard for the people's will. And then you pay the price and suffer the dire consequences. They have made you a joke in the eyes your allies and enemies alike. Why are putting up with all this BS?!!
And now they're saying "don't kick us out before the crisis is over". But guess what - they'll do their best to perpetuate the nation's problems, because should the situation improve the people will immediately throw them out of office. Are you going to wait for these people to plunge the country in a full-scale national catastrophe so they insure themselves against your rightful anger and blame it all on the evil foreigners?!
