[ReL] The Revolutionary #2 - Vote Revolution & Libertas!

Day 4,142, 09:21 Published in Netherlands Netherlands by NoTie112

Dear citizens of the eNetherlands,
Who would expect just a time ago to have such a lively political environment in the eNetherlands? As such, political parties should be responsive and Revolution and Libertas heeds your call! And so comes to live 'Revolutionary', the regular periodic of our party describing recent events and our view on them. So what do we have this time around?
* Referendum Power-Play
Revolution and Libertas is somewhat worried about the handling of the recent Referendum on Referendum. Initially initiated to abolish the Referendum, it turned into an experiment with the people's vote by the elites to prove a point. While we do not particularly care about the Referendum 'issue' and whether it stays unchanged, removes or adapted - there are much more important matters at hand - we're not a fan of deceptiveness. Defendants of the Referendum call themselves democrats, but what democratic value is there in withholding votes (so the threshold is not met) and back-pedalling by voting no/neutral by several initiators nonetheless?

Now we see in a twisted and hypocritical manner the 'solution' in severely-lacking band-aids attached on this irrelevant instrument. Attempts to aggregate a quorum on in-game elections in the past sound nice, but are just as deceptive. With Party Presidents often forgetting to mobilize their people to candidate for Congress or just one Country President running for office, why even bother? If the only reason the Referendum is - barely - relevant is due to a political power-play, then keeping it intact is a threat to our democracy, and not an healthy addition.

* Vote for Revolution and Libertas!

Let me introduce you to our wonderful list of Congress candidates aiming to improve the eNetherlands in whatever way possible, untied to ancient ideologies and special interests. We seek to have all six elected during the Congressional Elections of the 25th of March!

NoTie112 has been continuously striving in bringing much-needed programs and money to the eNetherlands and her citizens in his position as Minister of Finance. ElGorro has revolutionized the transparency of Congress, ensuring that everyone's vote is finally equal. europecrisseswar is bringing some much needed rationality in the snake-pit of career politicians. MaartenW may be considered ancient on his own, but his experience combined with a revolutionary heart brings some much needed level-headedness to our party and the eNetherlands. MDSanderon is still there too, seeking to keep our country on the right path that started in his Country Presidency last year. We're also happy that Kaczyk has returned to the game and is representing our party once again after unmissable experience as Minister of Defence and even the Polish Presidency!

* Read of the Week
''Iran is the 1%'' by Mael Dunbar. We don't see eye to eye much with Iron & Wine and have much to criticize, but the recent journalistic activity by Mael Dunbar is to be applauded on both the individual and political party-level. Agree or disagree with the content, his articles are entertaining and interesting to read!
Feelin' interested by this cause? Revolution & Libertas is open for membership! Besides offering you a political say in the eNetherlands, our friendly members will support you in whatever other endeavour you wish to take in the eNetherlands! We're especially seeking players who want to join Congress! Join us here!
