Day 5,076, 16:25 Published in Japan Republic of China (Taiwan) by Akane Homura

第1回目のレッスンにようこそ。このレッスンは重要なので、座って注意してください
Welcome to the first lesson, dear students! Sit back and pay attention, as this is important!

This guide is divided into different sections. A table of content is provided below for future reference if there is a need to reread specific information in the future.

Table of content:
1. Food and Energy
2. Communication and Groups
3. Income
4. Training
5. Abbreviations

Without further ado, let's get started!

Food and Energy

This part of the guide will talk about how to maintain and raise energy. It is acquired through food. However, manually clicking on the food is not necessary. The game automatically consumes the food to refill the energy pool as long as there is sufficient food in the personal storage.

The personal storage is found in the my places menu.

The food can be acquired by owning a company and producing it or simply buying it from the marketplace.

Tiers range from quality 1 (Q1) to 7 (Q7). The higher the quality, the better the effects, however the more costly it is to buy them.
For beginners, Q1 food is a good start and even advised to start with.

About food

Securing food should be the main priority as, without it, all progression stops.
Another means to acquire food is by self-production. There are a multitude of companies, and one of them can produce food.
The most straightforward way to buy a food company is through the marketplace with the gold currency.

Once bought, the company is available in the companies tab. It is there where it is possible to produce a fixed amount of food daily. The exact number is dependent on the quality of the company for raw products. For production factories, the game follows a slightly different logic! For these, the game follows a simple formula. It considers the booster if any are applied, the country and regional bonuses for the increase in productivity. However those bonuses then also get affected by the pollution of the region which negatively affects it.

It can be accessed by trying to edit the company and looks like this:

This pollution can be confusing, however, it follows a simple logic: The more people produce in a certain region, the more it hurts the environment due to the emissions. Hence a debuff is applied for the preservation of it. This debuff can go up to a maximum of 25%.

The exact applied bonus can be seen on the company tab and then on the right side, showing the final products.

Furthermore, with the help of an employee, the production per day can double. While this possibility exists, it is not recommended for players until they are well-established.

It is also wise to look at the economy page of the country to look at the country's resources and consider the available information when deciding on a company.

Moreover, there is a possibility to create holding companies in one or multiple regions by first travelling there. That is where the information from the economy page of the country becomes valuable. A holding company allows holding any companies used for raw materials, weapons, houses and food in a specific region. Those all benefit from the productivity bonus of the holding company's location. A region's productivity for a particular good will lead to an increased production bonus for the company.

A tip to consider is certain days throughout the year when it will be possible to upgrade companies at a discounted price. Given how the upgrade requests gold rather than the country currency, it is strongly advised to wait for specific days where those discounts happen. One such day is, for example, black Friday.

Another tip is that older players know that the game can be a bit rough at first with constantly having to buy food, so it might be worth noting that some older players are willing to help out with providing food.

About energy bars

Energy bars are a more luxurious way to gain more energy. It is possible to recover an amount of energy from those.

There are various ways of obtaining those rarer bars. The good news is that the weekly challenges, the bar on the top part of the game's page, sometimes give energy bars as rewards.
Energy bars can also be received through events, daily tasks, and packs bought with real-life currency.

About the weekly challenges

There are a variety of rewards attached to the weekly challenges and earning of prestige points. The rewards start from earning as little as five prestige points, adding one extra energy recovery until the reset.

Other rewards can, for example, also be extra storage space, energy bars and small bombs, to name a few. What reward will be unlocked is visible when looking at the weekly challenge bar itself. Note that new rewards will constantly show up after reaching a certain threshold, despite not showing up now. New rewards will only stop showing up after reaching 40 000 prestige points. Upon reaching the final stage of the prestige points, the players receive the prestige hunter achievement, which grants five gold.

Note: All acquired items in the game can be accessed or viewed in the personal storage.

Communication and groups

eRepublik is, first of all, a social game. Everyone is encouraged to speak to various group leaders and join them. The game consists of military and political groups. Seeking contact with the fellow party, military group members and fellow citizens is an excellent way to gain more enjoyment out of the game. Joining a communication platform outside of the game is not necessary but recommended as many game-related activities also happen there. Moreover, it is an excellent way to further bond with fellow citizens and players.

Military units

The military units consist of players who have come under a single organization to fight as a unit. It is also possible to create a new one, but it costs 40 gold.
The decisions in those military units are made mainly by the leader and the commanders. The military units are divided into regiments, with a set limit of 50 players being the maximum. Once that number is reached, the game automatically creates another regiment right after.

The government and MU commanders deploy daily orders, which the soldiers can then execute. Defeating 25 enemies through the given order will complete the daily order, leading to free goodies in bazooka parts and an energy bar.

Players can freely join most military units through the community tab; however, this is not always the case.

What military units a player wants to join is up to them as they are all competent. However, the Teishin Shudan went through a rebrand to accommodate new players and focus on air medals.

Political organizations, aka parties

Parties usually develop with members who have the same vision for the future of the country. They then aim to run for administrative seats in the country.

An enormous honour for a party is to receive the most votes in the presidential election vote of the country, which allows them to nominate the country president (CP).
Furthermore, congress members also consist of members of various parties of the country.

The power of the congressmen as a collective is more potent than that of the country's president. Whenever the president wants to pass a new law, it has to go through congress and receive a favourable vote. A congress can also vote to impeach a president. Politics in this game are pretty complex but make up a significant part of the game. Joining a political party is highly advised.

Income

There are two types of currency in the game: JPY, or whatever the national currency is, is the standard currency, and gold is the premium currency.

JPY income

The primary way of acquiring daily JPY is through company work.
Players advertise their employment requests on the job market.

For beginners, the advice is to seek 2.000 JPY jobs. However, if none are available in the country, players can fly elsewhere and be employed elsewhere. They can then return to the country and do their daily activities as usual. Players can then work across the country, and there is no need for travelling. The gained currency will still be JPY due to Japanese citizenship.

It is possible to earn extra income by owning a house. Owning a house produces one overtime point per hour. Holding 24 of those allows working twice a day.

Essentially this means that it is possible to work twice a day and gain double the money per day by owning a house. However, the homes have a limited durability duration before they expire. Generally, as long as they are not heavily overpriced, they are worth it. Still, it is beneficial to do the maths before purchasing a house. For new players, the advice is to only buy a Q1 house.

Gold income

The primary way of acquiring gold is by receiving medals. TW's (Training wars) are a form of battle that many countries hold to enable their player base to earn achievements. A dedicated section for the training wars will be at the bottom of this section. In battles, there is a division separation.

What division a player belongs to is decided by the level that they currently hold. Those divisions range from 1 to 4. The first division often consists of newborns or players who stall their level of growth as long as possible. Players will automatically move to the 2nd division upon reaching level 35. The fourth division consists of old players who are also the strongest ones in their countries.

Let us get down to business—the means of how to gain gold through battles exactly.

Each player who does the most damage out of any round of battle will get the battle hero achievement.

How long precisely a round lasts depends on the progress of the battle. However, many last for about an hour and 30 minutes. Once the round concludes, the top damage dealer will automatically receive the reward in the achievement section of their profile.

Each division gains one more gold on top of its number. So, for example, division 1 earns two gold, division two gains three and so on.

Other than achievements, levelling also rewards with one gold per level up. However, there is also a sky hero medal that gives ten gold if the achievement is won.

These sky hero medals are difficult to achieve for new players as there is no division separation in air battles. The damage that players do depends purely on their used weapons and the aircraft rank that they hold.

Gaining constant gold might be simple in the first division and second division. However, that changes in the third division, where the amount of players significantly increases. Unless they are inactive for a prolonged time, it is generally impossible to catch up to their strength to compete in the ground battles for the top damage dealer medals.

Therefore it is also advised to remain in the first and second division for as long as possible by using the minimum energy to secure the battle hero medal and repeat that progress in other battle rounds. It is recommended to focus primarily on the air battles and increasing the aircraft rank at the latest after reaching the third division.

An additional way to get gold is to look at the monetary market and buy gold with cash.

Finally, Inviting a friend to the game also rewards 10% of the gold that they acquire.

Training wars

Wars can be treacherous. It might get a bit confusing for new players why their country is constantly in wars every day. For that reason, a section explaining them is in this guide. While real wars exist in this game, most battles happening right now are simply training wars benefitting both participating countries. Those training wars help both sides to get a constant gold income. After all, no training wars means no battles, and no conflicts mean no sky hero or battle hero achievements, which are the best gold income sources.

What is essential to keep in mind is that there are some unwritten rules to benefit both countries in these training wars.

1) First of all, wars are supposed to be won and lost in turns. Therefore just jumping on each battle and trying to do as much damage as possible to win is not only not advised but also effectively hurts your country. After all, it takes chances away to continue training wars with current and new partners.

2) To try to divide the gold income as fairly as possible to the players of the countries and divisions, a general rule of thumb is that the first one to land a hit in the current battle is also the one with the privilege to receive the sky or battle hero achievement.

Let us say that the battle is happening in Japan: In that case, the Japanese players are the ones who should have priority to get the achievements while players from other countries should not switch sides to farm them from both sides. 3) The medals priority should belong to the country's players currently hosting the training wars. If they do, then they should expect to be overtaken by a player from the defending nation.

4) There is an exception to the above rules. Suppose someone does not do enough damage for the battlefield to end as is expected (losing vs winning side). In that case, everyone is free to participate and take the battlefield or sky hero achievement away so that the course of the battle can be corrected to how it is supposed to go.

Training

To achieve the optimum range of training, it is necessary to upgrade the training buildings located in the training grounds tabs.

There are four training grounds to be aware of. Using all of them will ultimately net the maximum amount of strength per week. However, in the beginning, it is not advised because it highly depends on the budget each player sits on to decide on how they will proceed. The free training building should, without a doubt, be the first one to upgrade to the maximum. Using the other ones uses gold per each training session. It is possible to train once a day.

The most important part of this section is to note the importance of the discount that happens once a month. Using training contracts when those appear to purchase is an excellent way to gain the maximum amount of strength. Generally, however, it is only worth it if the current budget allows it and all training buildings are fully upgraded.
