!No Fed Left Behind and More!

NFLB

The No Fed Left Behind Act (commonly known as NFL😎 is an ambitious program to help the needy patrons of the Fed community that are either too young or too impoverished to supply themselves and find that they are in lack of needed supplies. It is a complimentary program that runs independently of SHIELD supply drops and other forms of aid. Darkapoll52 and dk3dknight are the chairs of this program and they do a lot of good work. But they are only mortal and are not any better off than a lot of the people they try to help. So the NFLB program is in need of help. I wanted to know more. And I recently got to sit down with Darkapollo52 on the patio of my unicorn ranch in the Republic of Xanth. The following conversation is the result of a long work day within the Fed party and copious amounts of Hot Cocoa:

Trekker: Hello Darkapollo. Thanks for joining us tonight.

Darkapollo52: Thanks Trekker, it is great to be here.

Trekker: How are you doing tonight?

Darkapollo52: Fine, just a bit tired, ready to relax. Thanks for asking. How about you?

Trekker: Basically the same. Tired as all heckles to betsy and trying to play catch up.

Darkapollo52: Yeah, I have so much to do that I don't even know where to start.

Trekker: I know the feeling. Between the paper, congress, and responding to messages, there rarely seems to be enough hours in the day.

Darkapollo52 nods in agreement

Trekker: Well I suppose we should get down to business. What exactly is the NFLB?

Darkapollo52: The No Fed Left Behind program is the Federalists way to help everyone who needs some support in the game, to keep them going. We (Feds) don't leave people behind. If someone runs out of food, energy, or tanks they can request supplies that will be delivered as soon as possible.

Trekker: That sounds like a really great program, how did it come about?

Darkapollo52: Well I don't know the original story about the program, maybe dk3 could you tell more about it. From what I understand it was a few kind-hearted Federalist. They had seen many wall posts of people that were in need of help, many of them had run out of food and guns and they could not help themselves (new players on their own can't do much to become self-sufficient). The Federalists created the program to help our fellow Fed members in any possible way they can.

Trekker: You talk about new players not being self-sufficient. What does that mean?

Darkapollo52: Well I remember my 1st days in the game so I personally know it is nearly impossible to become self-sufficient as a new player, especially without gold. You don't know where to go and what to do first. So time goes by before you figure out what would be the right things to do first and you already made several mistakes. Then you realize you are already out of food out of guns and out of energy.

Trekker: And so the program is aimed at helping those less fortunate and newer players; that is quite admirable. Do you guys get a lot of requests?

Darkapollo52: Yes, quite a lot. We get around daily 15 to 25 requests, sometimes even more.

Trekker: You guys are getting a lot of requests daily, is the program growing? Do you expect it to grow in the future?

Darkapollo52: Yes, I can see this program growing every day and we have plans to make it even better in the future.

A few days ago we started/restarted the mentoring program. This program offers education to new players. Old players can apply as mentors and new players as mentees.

We also offer the players who request from the NFLB other kind of helps: we mail them if there something important happens or if there some opportunity to get them some extra supplies or money.

Trekker: So clearly this program is making an impact if people are making so many requests. What do people get for supplies?

Darkapollo52: They can ask for either food only or food and tanks as 50%-50% split. If they ask for food only then can get a 100Q5 food (or equivalent), if they need guns too then 50Q5 food and 5 Q7 tank.

Sometimes when we have problem with the funding, we try to make the best out of things so we give the requester different Q food like sometimes Q4 other times Q7 but always around the same amount of energy as the 50 or 100 Q5 food would give them.

Trekker: Speaking of funding, how is this program funded?

Darkapollo52: This programs funding is based on donations.

Trekker: Do the donations cover everything needed?

Darkapollo52: So far a few kind Fed members have tried to do everything to keep this program running. They have done this so we could help others, but sadly no one can fund a program this big alone. From time to time we always bump in to a funding problem. I could say that we are always near to the edge.

Trekker: So without continued donations this program would likely go out the way of the Western Black Rhino (extinct)?

Darkapollo52: Exactly no program this big could live without a few good players who try everything to keep it alive. Without the donations and without Federalist members who want to help other, we would not be here right now. And it is without them this great party would not be the same.

Trekker: That is terrible to hear. What can a concerned citizen who wants to help do?

Darkapollo52: They can contact us, Dk3dknight or me, personally with a mail in game or on the Federal forum. This program accepts any kind of donation food, tank, or money. Really any kind of donation could help the program and allow us help those who need it the most.

Trekker: Well I have heard enough to want to get behind this program, but there may be a few people still on the fence. Can you sum up for me, why this program is so important and why people should support it?

Darkapollo52: Because new players are the future of our great eUSA. Without them the nation and our party is dead. If we let them down at the beginning what would that make us?  The eUSA's future is in the new players, we should help them to help our nation. That is why NFLB and other programs like Fed Mentoring are important to the future.

Trekker: Okay so to wrap up, what is that link for the NFLB? And where can people go for more information on the mentoring programs for those who need help and those who want to help?

Darkapollo52: Well they can contact me in game or on the forum for more information about the mentoring program or about the NFLB.

For those who are willing to help the new players and want to become a mentor, they can apply here: http://tinyurl.com/ngtyegp

New players who need a mentor can apply here http://tinyurl.com/oqlmayk I will make sure that they get contacted by a mentor as fast as possible.

Also if you are a new player and need some supplies, just fill out the NFLB form at http://tinyurl.com/pywesvp, we are here to help.

Fed Media would like to thank Darkapollo52 for this unprecedented look into the workings of The No Fed Left Behind Act. The work done in the program is important. It serves the needs of a part of the Fed population that is flux.

While there is an argument to be made that we should not be giving supplies to youngsters, who will then use them and level up too fast. That thought pattern is haphazard at best. Yes, producing stronger fighters is important. What is even more important than producing stronger fighters is keeping people interested in the game eRep. Some players will never be patient enough to train and fight only. These are the people that need these programs the most. We have to keep them engaged. Without the prospect of fighting, they would grow bored and instead of a well-trained and low level fighter, there is no fighter at all because someone got bored with the game.

A weak fighter is better than no fighter any day. Engagement is key in this game. This program engages that subset that needs to fight to be entertained. I am one such player. If I could not fight, I would have left this game a long time ago. Two years later, I am still weak and under-powered, but I am engaged and fairly successful on the battlefield. Programs like this will help the next crop of “us” (by that I mean the engaged minority of eRep) to evolve.

Since the first request was filled on the 24th of November last year, the NFLB program has filled over 1750 requests. That is a lot of mouths to feed. And the re-introduction of the mentoring program could cause this number to grow significantly as players become more educated about the game and the help available.

So donate to help this program. And help Darkapollo52 and dk3dknight continue their important work.

Signing off,
Trekker Tlumac, Fed Media Director and Fed Party VP

!TUNE IN TONIGHT!

With the recent changes in Divisions there has been a lot of chaos. Everyone has spoken about these changes and a lot of other things are left unanalyzed. Resident Media Staffer Trickstir has taken it upon himself to comb over some of these details more closely. Over the next couple weeks we are proud to present to some in depth coverage of it the current state of eUSA military strength.

Well I sit here planning on going to a two click strategy, I am lvl 32 I thought I had this game figured out by now. Then I noticed something it takes me so many clicks to do damage. Why? What the hell did I in my time here in Erepublik do wrong? Why it is the eUSA is not in the top 5 in damage every week. Where is the issue that makes someone else’s click matter more than mine? WHY CAN’T I WIN A FREAKING BH METAL!

Well I decide that the factor that was limiting me was strength sure I have the Training Grounds of kings thanks to advice I got earlier on. Sure I get the training contract I need every time I can afford it. There is still no way I can continue down my path. I decided to research and see where my strength would need to be for me to be successful in the new division system. I went to the stats looked at players level’s, strength, and divisions. I came to one conclusion we as a country not just me as a player are falling behind faster and faster as we click are way through the divisions. In this series of articles I will give you the cold hard truth for each division.

Well Div I you may have a lot of questions, I mean some of us were Div III not that long ago. Here is what I have to tell you it looks like Div II is not as dangerous as we may think. You need to get your strength up prior to moving. Strength is playing a huge factor in Div I. We as a group throughout the eWorld have strength ranging from 60k to 5. That is a huge difference when it comes to hitting and fighting. In the eUS our highest strength in Div I is 46,700 this player could fight in Div II with decent impact. However most of us could not, Div II has a max strength of 76,130 in the eWorld and the gap is still quite large between the bottom of Div II and the Top elite Div II Players. I was going to try to compare the entire eWorld to the eUSA but, it was getting more confusing than anything. So I decided to make a few tables seen below using our rival and a country that is consistently in the top 3 in Damage and Kills.

The above table shows not only how the strength of the Top % of players in each country, but also how the population stacks up. It also shows that we are outnumbered. For this reason I used percentage brackets. In Div II we are much closer in strength in the percentage groups, but we are lacking behind in population. This is shown in the table below.

Keep in mind if you want to compete and make an impact as a soldier the higher the strength the more damage you can do with a single kill. As you can see Div I players we have some work to do before we move into Div II otherwise we will come in at the bottom of Div II. My suggestion is two click build strength and enter Div II at a high enough strength to make a difference shoot for the top 50% so strength over 22,468 before moving to Div II. This will make gaining BH metals less costly as you move up in divisions. Next article we will discuss Div II to Div III moves, the strength gap is less during this change. Div I seems to be the most important place to build strength.

Now a quick note on eSerbia they average 87,254 damage per opponent defeated, we as a country average 83,551 damage per opponent defeated. This was calculated by taking total damage from the leader board and dividing it by total opponents defeated. Lets see if we can get our strength up and be more competitive as a nation.
