They found out, that Turkey is a bigger inheritor of the Byzantine Empire, than Greece.

Ok, so here's the Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantine) in it's largest teritory ever (pink):
In the Bosphorus is situated one of the largest cities in the world, which happened to be the capital of the empire.
So here are Greece and Turkey:
As you can see, the capital of the empire is currently the Turkish city of Istanbul, and there are several other big cities, who are also on turkish teritory. Also, Turkey has a bigger territorial part from the empire, than Greece. In the same time, there are one or two big towns in Greece since then.
So, my guess is, that Greece aknowleged the fact, that they can never restore the Empire, since they are too weak to fight the Turks, and they decided to become friends with them, and to try and get something from us.

Thus spoke, well your information is obviously not correct. During Nazi Germany, not only that we were a free nation, we also had Dobrogea from Romania, entire Macedonia and northern coast of Greece in our land.

Sevisenturk, furst Bulgarian nation was around 300 BC, after that, Volga Bulgaria was bigger than the Ottoman Empire ever was (in terms of Territory), and our current nation was created 1300 years ago. So this is a pretty big period if you ask me. And the 300 years under Eastern Roman Empire (not Greece), are not 300, but 160 years.

Secondly, Bulgaria was the only winnig country from the losing side in both World wars. Epic battles and it was the only state which was invited to the Antata winning celebration. (btw Greece was under Bulgarian occupation during WWII)
However, the only foreign general who is present in the hall of fame in the Great Britain history is a Bulgarian - Vladimir Vazov.
