When it Snows in Dixie...

Day 4,147, 17:50 Published in USA Turkey by Monsieur Manchukuo

Hello! Normally, I tend to stay quiet when it comes to things like this. However, much to the dismay of former-Party President Snow Sunday and likely a few members of the Socialist Freedom Party, I am here to weed out snakes. While Saint Patrick's day has already been passed by quite a number of days, it's never too late to perform such an act.

The snakes here are, of course, not literal. In fact, "snakes" isn't the correct term, at all. Because, though they have all caused a bit of commotion, I know that none of the people involved are necessarily "bad people". No one here has committed genocide, nor has urges to do so. If, however, you do intend to enact such violence against others, I would suggest you become a citizen of eNazi Germany or eSoviet Russia, if they existed. Fortunately, they do not.

Alors, the people I speak of are normal people. Citizens, like you or I. Citizens with positions of power, but citizens nonetheless. A bit of backstory is necessary to justify my words, so bear with me as I recount as objectively as I can.

When I arrived here on January 3rd, just as the waking passion of the dawn of the New Year settled from a boil to a simmer, I was surprised. There were so many people, and so many parties. These people, whom I had never known but now know somewhat better, were an utterly stupifying enigma. I spotted people who seemed nice, and those who seemed otherwise. There were right-wingers and left-wingers, as in any democracy. Some were extremist politicians, and some were only passive voters who had little to no interest in the political climate. Today, nearly only three months later, I am one of those politicians. I am only a congress member as of now, but for a newer player like me, that's a big achievement. Some of you may consider me unworthy for a position of government being such a new player. Indeed, even I do not see myself as being as worthy as others for the title of congress member. We all, however, have to start somewhere.

As I was saying, though, there were many types of people. Some I didn't expect, and others I figured would exist. Originally, I had planned to keep to myself. I had no interest in joining a military unit, or even a political party. I am not the most social person, and never have been. But I feel like I know many of the people here well enough to speak to them publicly. One of the first two people I met upon my arrival would quickly change my course of action, however.

Before learning there was a website as well, I was using the beta version of the eRepublik app on my phone. Soon after first logging into the actual browser version, however, a notification had been sent to me. Two, in fact. Both from mysterious men of the same party. One outspoken and reasonably professional in his introduction and the other just as friendly, yet somewhat less talkative. These two men were, respectively, Chickensguys and Snow Sunday. They both invited me to the WTP, an invitation which I would soon after accept.

A few days later, an article from Snow Sunday appeared in the news feed. This was, of course, his most infamous "Confederacy" post. I was shocked, though not necessarily disturbed. I come from the Southern U.S.A., so I was used to seeing and even sometimes displaying these flags with my family and friends. We are, by no means, hillbillies. Just normal people who enjoy sweet tea and celebrate heritage, even if it can be seen as treasonous. This, however, would not be Snow's last mistake.

When Chickensguys WTP Presidential term ended just a few days after I became a member and transferred the title of PP over to Snow, I had little objection. Snow seemed nice enough, at the time. He hadn't said anything to me that felt like an attack, so I thought things would be OK. And, generally, they were pretty mild in the beginning. Somewhat reactionary, but usually fairly mild.

(Shown above: Snow upon realizing any of his mistakes.)

Snow, to his dismay, was unfortunately very indecisive as party president. He changed the positions of the Vice President, Secretary General, Councillor, and Spokesman of the party various different times, with many in the span of just a week. At one point, I was the Secretary General for a few days. Something I was not notified of by anyone in the party, nor aware of until I looked at the "My Party" section for however long after I was put in the position. It was, as one might say from my neck of the woods, pretty darn confusin'. I figured he was just trying to be nice to a new member, though.

Eventually, the February election came around. The policy around our parts is that you run for president, then you allow other members to try their hand at the party presidency. Snow, however, ran again. I do not believe there are any rules against this, and indeed, I do not think there should be. Snow, however, handled this situation very poorly. Had he been more calm, I still doubt he would have won. By this point, he had lost our trust with his constant outbursts, calling more than a few of us traitors. He lost to StrideR 83, who won by 19 votes more than Snow.

I would, before I go any further, like to say that I am not anti-Snow. Snow, I believe, is a relatively nice person with a very extreme power complex. He now sees us as an enemy, because we didn't all fully support his reelection attempt. We are the "fascists" to his oppressed "people". The "people", however, are just his metaphor for himself. He feels oppressed by us for telling him to just give someone else a chance at the PP.

Now, as members of other parties rally at his side simply because both he and they are anti-WTP, we are stuck with a very vocal former party member who once had the privilege of being liked enough for us to consider him our president that is going on a full-blown blame campaign against the same party he claimed to have once "loved". He is now an example used against us by any anti-WTP crusaders who might exist, just to show how "oppressive" we are for denying this poor man of his rightful presidency. So, go ahead and call us fascists. It wouldn't be the only radical party in the eUSA, if we truly are.

TL😉R: Snow started off as fairly innocuous, decided to get power-hungry after democratically being voted in as PP for a first time, and is now jealous that he wasn't voted in as the God-Emperor he thinks he should be a second time. He now plays the victim card.

P.S.: Happy Vietnam Veterans' Day, everyone! Be sure to give your local Commie fighter a hug, handshake, or kiss of appreciation before the day ends, if you haven't already!
