What does EZC mean to me?

The following article will not be set into a pretty format. Quite frankly, I do not spend any time blogging and do not have the basic formatting skills to make this anything other than the text it is. Words have always meant more to me anyways. These are my words:
What does EZC mean to me? Well like many of my brothers and sisters in arms, it means a lot. Not to be mellow-dramatic or anything, but EZC save my eLife.
Yes, I realize this is a pretty significant statement. The fact remains that it is true. When I came to EZC back at the beginning of March, I very much was ready to give up on this game. I had just about had it with this game (as so many of our fallen brethren have in the past) and saw no reason to not return to the dead citizen status I had held for the bulk of my eLifetime.
I have never been big on social gaming or games played over the internet or even PC games in general. To me, gaming means a weekend spent in someone’s bedroom with three of your best buddies and everyone takes turns playing on a NES, SNES or (later) Xbox. That is how I cut my teeth on gaming and I was very content to play as such.
The social aspects of gaming never appealed to me. I am a fairly private person. I have always held a small core group of friends over being the social butterfly. That is not to say I do not play well with others, I just never saw a point to open up to a group as opposed to a small core of friends.
So the idea of having to interact with people to play a game did not appeal to me. When I first came back to eUSA I had some rather serious problems with a certain party *cough* AFA *cough* It gave me a really bad taste for the community at large. So I kept to myself after that. What happened that caused me to view things so negatively is another story for another day. This article is about EZC.
At any rate I had decided that if this is how politicians in the game were, I wanted none of it. The game politicians seemed worse than real life politics.
I came to EZC knowing only indifference or hate in this eWorld. It had been a rather taxing journey. There was little trust in anyone to act in any what but negative. So I kept to myself at first. Mostly only thanking people on the feed wall for the supplies.
After a couple months though, I realized there was a change. I was actively posting and commenting on the feed wall. People were replying to my posts and it was positive replies. Even more shocking was the growing camaraderie between me and my fellow EZC soldiers. I actually enjoyed the teasing banter that is so rampant on the wall, as well as the salutes and war cries that are so common.
I had never been in a MU that was so organized before. It ran smoothly and was disciplined. There are so many active players and it shows in our numbers. As a collective we were more than a bunch of regiments, we were siblings at arms.
When I counted it up the other day, EZC had over 80 GOWs. Since they have instituted the weekly Damage and Kills medals (3 weeks at the time of writing this) EZC has had 1st in kills all three weeks, 2nd in damage twice and 3rd in damage once. No other MU has ranked in the top 3 on both categories all three weeks (not that I saw when I checked anyway). I will give Specials Forces a shout out, for taking 1st in damage three weeks straight and ranking in the top 3 for kills twice.
Another thing that means a lot to me is the ability to come together. We rally together in times of need and in times of fun. Such family is not something I have experienced outside of my own RL friends/family and my football brothers from high school years ago. EZC is a family. It is the kind of family that can withstand many trials. We at the type of family that does not always see eye to eye, but can cast that aside at a moment’s glance to fend off an invading force. I would liken the community to that of ancient Greece (during peaceful times). There are minor disagreements on the outsides of the family, but we come to one another’s aid without a second thought.
This family theme shines through in our ability to have fun too. I ran a kill competition a few weeks ago for the regiment I Captain (14th). I posted about it in advance in the forum. The response was so good, that I was gifted items to add to the prize. I did not ask for the items. Other members who feel the camaraderie deeply, too, just started sending things.
And the response from the fighters in my regiment was substantial. In that one day the competition ran, collectively the 14th had over 6500 kills. That is a soldier’s community to me. It is one that I enjoy greatly. It is one I hope to remain in for as long as this eJourney lasts.
So as I said, EZC saved me eLife. I would not be here now and if I was, it would not be the me that exists. I would still be that recluse that assumes everyone else in the eWorld is arrogant, angry and revoltingly despicable.
Because of EZC, I know this is not true. I have even begun to open up to the members of the party in which I belong (FED). They never treated me badly. They too have been warm to me since I joined, but I was nervous to really open up. After the hell of the last party I was in, I had fully intended to be a soldier only. That has changed, another way EZC saved me. Now I am even active and have many friends within the party I serve. For that I am thankful.
If you want a family that will rain hell down upon your enemies if you ever find yourself in need? I advise using a time machine, or a less costly option is joining EZC.
And that, is what EZC means to me.
Currahee!
P.S.
Thank you to Bucephalus92 and Dogpyle. The prior is the one that suggested I write for an article on EZC meaning to me, the latter wrote a wonderful article that inspired me to write one of my own. Thanks Brothers.

A big, huge CURRAHEE!
Excellent article Trekker. I could not have said it any better. Peace and love, my brother.
I don't know, you said it pretty good already. lol
Yeah, but that was a bunch of mush. 😉
Hey Bro, given the choice between love, war and peace... I would take love every time.
That "bunch of mush" gets you laid regularly.
Ah, the good old EZC
Nice article.
awesome !!
F*ch Yeah Trekker Tlumac. Good job on bursting out of your comfort zone. Well written my friend. Voted, subbed, f*cked, cuddled, all that stuff.
"Voted, subbed, f*cked, cuddled, all that stuff"
xD That made me laugh so hard. Totally the kind of thing I was talking about. o7
Damn it this is just so awesome, keep soldiering on brother.
CURRAHEE!
Fantastic personal perspective Trekker. Well done man.
Sometimes we are following the way of Dio and we don't even know it. Your an inspiration buddy. Finding the game outside the game, IS the game!
I've posted a similar article from another player below.....I'm not trolling, but I know it can take more than 2clicks to find articles in other countries, and some players find that too much effort....and who can blame them!
Keep up the inspiration buddy.
Dio.

That is a great article, motivates me to do a forum giveaway.
o7 Trekker, one of the best Captains I have seen. There is life after AFA after all.
o7 Life is good away from that cesspool.

I also would not be here without EZC - As relatively new to erep when the eUS wipe and subsequent work tax hit II would have probably quit. EZC kept the game fun for me and gave optimism things would improve.
The community definitely kept it together it together with the stress of the wipe. Glad you stuck around. 🙂
this is great article , \o/

EZC FTW!!!
Agreed!! While I don't interact much, if I do so, it tends to be on the EZC forums versus anywhere else. Taking care of its members seems to be the EZC mantra.
o7
It does seem to be the mantra. Generally when someone posts for help, the response is quick and helpful.

Great article bro.
It means a lot to me to see all those salutes in EZC uniforms. When I went to bed seven hours ago I only had 11 votes, now there is 127. This took off quite a bit. Thanks for making it happen. And thanks for making EZC so great. 🙂
Good stuff 🙂

I came for the supplies and stayed for the great community
Basically how it started for me, too. xD
Voted m8!!
Great article.

Good stuff man!

Very nice. Great showing for EZC. I like the Maine Moose. Needs more Hampton though, but what article doesn't?
Yeah, I hope that you can forgive my oversight in that matter. xD
I love hearing tales of family 😛
Great article Trekker and let the glory be ya'll's 😃

I was in EZC a long, long time ago and I'm happy to see that they're even more awesome than before.
