Welcome, Croats. Shall nothing divide us again.
Ion Vlahu
As some of you may already be aware, starting today, Croatia is the 28th member of the European Union. It was a long journey for Croatia, but also for Europe who had to fight the demons of war in the Balkans. Maybe the EU does not look like an English garden today and it has its own struggles to face, but it is something Europeans never dreamt of having: a place of prosperity, of friendship and peace.
You have come a long way and you, Serbians, Montenegrins, Kosovars, Bosnians, in spite of your differences, know the true value of peace. Dear Croats, I salute your accession in this brotherhood of nations and hope this is the dawn of a new era for Europe. One of peace and reconciliation.
I just realized how obsessively I’ve said peace in three paragraphs. But the Balkans finally deserve it.
P.S: I hope Serbia follows this path soon, and I will be able to welcome their accession too. Too much time lost, too many destinies broken.

Kosovars ... ptiu
And, of course, i forgot Bosnians. They should be mentioned too. And every one of those who suffered the attrocities of war.
And Macedonians?
nu exista kosovaro doar sarbi si albanezi ....
Ce or mai fi kosovarii astia? Reprezentanti ai democratiei americane in Balcani poate, specializati in trafic de organe de/si fiinte umane. Sigur se gaseste un loc si pentru ei in UE.

bosnians ? 😑
You have come a long way and you, Serbians, Montenegrins, Kosovars
You are right. I mentioned Bosnians in one of my comments. I also added it to the text. Just a slipup of course. Thank you.

RIP Croatian economy and sovereignty.
I'am a anti-European but welcome Croatia, together we are more strong to crush this monster!
o7
...or together we make the monster more stronger 😁
Anti-EU or Anti-European? The latter sounds quite worrying : s
This federative Europe is becoming more or less a franco-german empire
So what? They're good managers...
good managers with who? or you have the illusion they treat eastern ppl as equals? cheap labor, easy to manipulate and control, new markets for their overproduction or products they don't need..
Well yeah. Of course they do that as European legislation, as it stands at the moment, allows it.To be honest, it is all due to member states political unwillingness to surrender political and fiscal sovereignty. Most surprisingly, it is the smaller less developed states that propagate the idea that being part of a larger USA style federation is detrimental to them or their people. Now... You do get the odd example of Britain... A country that is the financial powerhouse of Europe, a member of the European Union that puts in more money than it gets back but probably the most euro-skeptic.
If you are an advocate of the socio-economic jungle of the bourgeois liberal-market economic system a European Federation would the ultimate achievement.
My friend, I am afraid you are missing my point here.
i'm not questioning their managerial skills here, even if some of their own people do.
The problem is that by doing this they are cheating the Maastricht principles. You're saying bellow that Eastern States are more relluctant in giving in a part of their sovereignity. But I find that natural and I am going to explain why: There are some cold war reminiscences, especially in population's minds: the western see eastern underdevelopped, and they think the eastern are trying to take their money, and their jobs and social protection. On the other hand the eastern think the western accepted them only to make them second class EU citizens, they want their countries natural resources: oil, lumber, stone, grains, they need new markets for their own products, but they don't want to keep the eastern poor and less developped. With other words: the West would want the Eastern Countries but without their citizens. If the countries give in all their sovereignity what will happen with their unwanted citizens? Or states should protect their citizen's interest. And if many countries fail to do so for their legitimate citizens, why would EU do better for people they consider second class citizen?
In my case, we won't have a strong European Federation, but weak states governated by bureaucrats managed by their political, national and even economical interests. I'm not saying being German is bad, I'm saying that I'm not going to be either German, nor Romanian, nor even European, but some dislocated person that nobody cares of.
And speaking of German and French managerial skills I am asking you: why do Greece, Italy, Ireland, Spain and Portugal have all those economical problems? They are EU Members even before Maastricht (Italy is one of the founders).

ty for wishes. but i fear EU is turning to a cash monster who eats babies
v and sub long time ago
when others don't know how to get out, why should they be so happy to go in?
