US Aid to Hungary
dreaeuh
After an unsuccessful campaign in Manitoba, the US war machine decided to attack Saskatchewan in what can only be described as an attempt to further strengthen the Great Hungarian Wall.
What the US fails to recognize is that while the battles against Hungary is not going to be won by direct confrontation such as this. More Hungarians are fighting than Americans. What this means is that for every battle that we engage in against the Hungarians, more Hungarians are getting experienced and military rankings. One of the DoD newspapers said that there are about 1,500 more active Hungarians than there are Americans, which equates to about 10 experience per Hungarian soldier times the suggested 1,500 soldiers.
We have a 15,000 point experience deficit when we engage in battles with Hungary. In effect, the US is spending tax dollars on strengthening the enemy, while weakening its own citizens.
(The weapons package I mentioned yesterday seems to be a flop. How do I know? I haven't received any weapons! So again, I committed to battle today and did a whopping -30 damage.)
Currency News
The US is further closing it gap between currency trading prices and the price of GOLD in USD. The gap reduced in 24 hours time from 40.40USD to now 40.29USD with no sign of slowing.
Trading Strategies - Triangular Arbitrage
Buying currency and selling it for a higher price is a basic fundamental for currency trading. A more advanced step is the triangular arbitrage. This is where you buy one currency it, trade it for a second currency, and use the second currency to buy the original currency and hopefully make a profit doing it.
This simple case usually involved GOLD as the starting "currency". The GOLD, USD, RUB method is one that has been highly profitable.
You sell 1 GOLD for 40USD at a rate of 0.025 GOLD per USD. You can post that you are buying RUB for anywhere above 0.7157USD each. This come from the current spot price of GOLD for RUB of 28.628 divided by your purchase price of 40USD.
You sell 1 GOLD for 40USD, sell 40USD for 30RUB at current approximate spot price of USD to RUB of 0.75, and sell 30 RUB for 1.05GOLD. This equates to a 5% return on a series of trades.
This is not *true* triangular arbitrage, as there is risk involved, as there is a growing lack of demand for USD in Russia, meaning people may be less than willing to buy USD in exchange for RUB, let alone to 0.75. If the exchange rate between USD and RUB drops below 0.7157, you will lose money.
Comments
The difference between the US and Hungary is that there are plenty of younger US citizens. These battles increase the ability of players to "rank up," increasing their damage. When a player hits FM, or even GEN, his/her ability to rank up is eliminated/greatly reduced. Thus, training battles help younger players more than older players. Eventually, with enough time and activity, the eUS will gain the upper hand.
what weapons package do you speak of?
you do 30 damage because you are two weeks old - fight every chance you get that way you level up and get stronger faster.
Then again, a lot of Hungarians don't gain their ranks as quick as we do anyway.
And even if we wouldn't start this fight they would just start a training war to fight there instead, so it doesn't matter if we spend a few gold on it.
I would be hitting at 90 or so if I had a decent set of weapons.
We had 10,000 more fights but hit for 1,600,000 less damage overall. Hungarian average was 65.228 damage per fight while the US was 49.35 damage per fight. We would need 32,422 more fights at the average 49.35 to break even against Hungary, and an additional 106 fights to take the territory.
I'm just suggesting that if enough weapons were provided, we could increase that damage significantly. Gifts could increase the number of fights, weapons could increase the damage, and if we can time it so we get double the fights while the Hungarians are limited to one attack and one heal, that might be enough to win.
But I'm not involved in the so-called military, so perhaps attacking and attacking will somehow work with enough time and activity.
I say "so-called" because it seems as though we are more of a militia without weapons. An angry mob attacking an army.
I hit for 88 with a Q5 right now (wellness at 94)
There's no way, you'd hit for 90.
You're an idiot, dude. The second battle was about letting everyone who berzerked recover- we didn't expect to win.
-Drake
Drake: No, he's not an idiot. These are good questions to raise. Yes, the war today was necessary for wellness. And I agree with Eli and Alecian, and I am sure the Prez takes these issues into account already. Still, worth reminding some of our bloodthirsty compatriots that battle is not a hands down good for us.
Got to go with Drake on this one. The battle was all about recovery from the berserk style attack Also every battle for the US vs any country is a long term US benefit because of the amount of new players.
This works out in our favor because of the rate of return for damage. After dealing 1500 dmg, a new player increases their damage by 60% while a captain has to deal 69000 dmg to gain 60%. Therefore based on the rate of damage increase per player relative to rank, the only way that Hungary would benefit is if they had more privates, corporals, and sergeants than us.
We need to level up our two-clickers. That takes battles. Preferably with guns in their hands to expedite the process. We don't pass out guns for training wars.
There is no doubt that the Huns, and to a lesser extent PEACE, got some training off of these wars. But I can imagine our collective gain is more than their collective gain.
People complain that the Huns beat us one on one. So let's level up our nubs and close that gap. That extra damage isn't being gained by Generals and FMs. It'll be from Lieutenants and Captains. Putting guns in the hands of lower leveled players is the best investment we can make for the future.
sorry for the punctuation. Imagine a period between attack and Also in the second line.
I mean 90 overall. 5 attacks with about 18 each with a Q1 weapon.
A training war would have been better for our troops and with weapons being passed out.
It is a statistical study that needs to be done to see the number of people above the 59.35 average and below. I'm very, very sure that there are hundreds more of people below that 59.35 average than there are well above that. Increasing the average by helping people below that bar will be more effective than helping few people above that average.
I was just saying, my attacks will go up 300% with a simple Q1 weapon. I'm sure that is the case with everyone else who is two-weeks old and does not have enough income to generate weaponry.
And this will be an economic war coming up.
I'm glad you guys are reading this paper. I'm not as sure about the battle system as I am about economics and finance, so I appreciate the input. I would like to be a better warrior, but the way I am progressing, I don't think I'll be an effective warrior for months!
Two weeks and my attack strength has went from 4 to 6, or 50% increase. Two more weeks, I'll do 9, two more 14. Two more, 21, 31, 45, 66, 99. It is exponential, but it will be sixteen weeks or 4 months to reach 100 per attack without weapons??? Maybe I'm wrong here, but I'm just going off the numbers.
