Hello Brethren,

I had conducted an experiment on changing of Taxes quite recently as you are all aware.

We were getting a lot of CS requests and there were some people violating the conditions we placed on them when we accepted our CS requests.

People wanting to take advantage of our low taxes and neutrality in the eWorld War had applied or applying for CS requests in our country. We are kind. We accepted it. But our only condition - don't interfere in our politics. You have a say in our administration, you have a right to all resources, rights to farming but don't take any political action that might seems hostile to our small and close community.

But a certain individual created a party and ran for CP at the very last moment (a clear nefarious action).

The Tax increase was an excellent plan on paper, unfortunately it wasn't very practical.

For instance :-
1) I could only cover the people who answered Brkn's company survey. People who didn't answer were not covered. Even though some of our eIndians are not active, I believe they should be covered too. I failed here.

2) People started missing work days, my initial calculation was to give everyone a 7x multiple of their Day 1's Tax to India. And get updates every saturday (salaries change and so does tax, taxes and salaries are directly proportional). This created a problem where I we couldn't know who worked and who didn't. I noticed this problem when our Tax collection drastically fell down after the 2nd day.

While our Major tax payers (Xside, Zordacz, Brkn, Doctor) showed me proof of working 7 days, others like Ferlunia didn't. Ferlunia constantly reminded me of the tax refund but didn't provide evidence of having worked daily. What Ferlunia did was fraud.

3) We can address having missed work days, but we cannot handle fraud.

This is why we try to avoid accepting CS requests. The players here, we hope they love their eCountry. Players like Xside, Zordacz and Warok have made this their home and have become members of our family. But then there are some evil characters who arrived here to only take advantage of our systems and screw with us.



And this is why we have kept the tax rate at 3%, people who want to experience another community will not complain about the Tax rate. And it'll deter the CS requests who just want to take advantage of our small profitable community and contribute nothing in return.


You guys are an amazing bunch, I have seen you contribute here without expecting anything back in return. When the time comes you give it all. But not everyone is like you. Certain Individuals, have profited immensely from our lands. They take, take by handful, but never give back anything in return.



PS :- While I have refunded only 7 days worth of taxes, the taxes collected were for almost 9 days. If most people have a problem I will refund those 2 days worth. But I would like to remind you that this money is used to fund our Air supplies program which is currently working with donations from Xside and cheap food from Visor. The people who give back? Visor is one of them. He gives us food at lower than market rates. He can sell for normal profit, but he sells for less (incurring a hit on himself) so that all Indians can benefit.

We need more people like Visor.
