My Fellow Citizens...

Day 5,547, 14:37 Published in Switzerland Ireland by OogieBoogie3
My fellow citizens of eSwitzerland, I regret to inform you that I intend to vacate this once prosperous nation for new opportunities abroad.

The Switzerland that I returned to many months ago after years of absence is sadly a shadow of the community it had once been. To be frank, you're all a bit dull. There's just nothing interesting going on here, and the established government has mostly failed to mimic the vibrant Democracy that once stood in its place. Today Switzerland is an Autocracy controlled by a single entity under the guise of Democracy. The handful of parties all claim undying allegiance to this seat of power, and in exchange for their support get to be included in the same endless rotation of Presidential Candidates that will automatically be handed an election. One month it's Terry, the next it's Iziz, then Pep, and so on and so forth into infinity. You can't refute this reality because it's painfully obvious to anybody with an IQ above room temperature. There is no Democracy in Switzerland; there might as well only be one party since all of the others are mostly filled with two-click citizens who only make an appearance on election day - conveniently keeping this forever seat of power forever the seat of power, and so the status quo continues on uncontested. The best part is that simply questioning how business here is carried out is met with hostility. Dissent is treated like a treasonous act because it's a threat to this ongoing seat of power's ability to farm medals.

The establishment, very much, has failed. There's no way you guys can be proud of what you're doing here. We used to have elections in Switzerland that meant something. Congress was split between dissenting parties that forced compromise. Today, it's like the WWE. Sure, at a glance it looks authentic, but it's all rigged, all a big show, and the end result doesn't matter because every party is the same party with slightly different branding on it. It's a bit sad, honestly. It's also sad to see my party, the SDP, a party founded by my good friend and hero of Switzerland, Mungos032, dragged through the dirt by a bunch of dull do-nothings that have no semblance of what the party once stood for. Mungos fought for Swiss sovereignty from a foreign invader and traitor who attempted to sink his own ship if he didn't get his way. Unfortunately, years on, it all feels as if it was all for none.

So, that being said - I'm out. Tef was right all along, and that reality isn't going to change. Switzerland is a shadow of what it used to be, which is a real shame. There's nothing left for me here, so it's onto greener pastures. Before I depart, I intend to use my congressional power to grant keskese citizenship. His intentions seem convoluted and dishonest at best, but that won't be my problem to deal with.

Farewell to all and Long Live Switzerland! May change find its way.
