Milestones and Prizes!
MaryamQ
Ten months ago, my long-time friend, TheNorm, convinced me I should join him in Easy Company. I had turned him down repeatedly out of loyalty to my current MU’s (Belgian National Army, TUP Family, Green Militia/now Saligia, Funky Militia, or Unity). These were all wonderful MU’s, and I felt a great loyalty to each of them, but I had reached a point where I had to change what I was doing or quit the game. That I chose change over quitting can be credited to or blamed on my Belgian friend, Nohjis, and Norm. That I am still here is due to EZC in general, and Norm in particular. We are both near some significant personal goals in-game, and I decided to celebrate what EZC has helped me to accomplish and throw a little party to share the fun.
When I joined EZC, I had doubts about how I would fit in. I had never seen myself as a real fighter. When divisions were introduced, I was already a relatively low-strength division 3, having fought mostly in eBelgian wars, which were few and often far between. Two years into the game, I had never won a battle hero medal, and only won 21 of them before I passed into division 4 as part of the Belgian Paras, doing daily coordinated strikes. About a month and a half after joining EZC and more than 5 years into the game, my profile looked like this.
This is what my profile looks like now, on day 2918, less than 9 months after that shot was taken.
I was a Titan when I joined EZC, and now have fewer than 200 million rank points left to reach Titan***. My highest True Patriot damage, for eUK, was less than 5 billion. Today, for the eUS, it stands at a little over 24.5 billion, approximately 5 times as much as for eUK, and nearly 3 times the total amount for eUK, eBE and ePL combined. What makes the difference? Why have I achieved so much more in a few months in EZC than I did in over 5 years previously?
I am admittedly a late bloomer in the military module. Like many older players, I chose to concentrate on other aspects of the game. There are a lot of younger players who were able to hit the ground running while we stood with our mouths hanging open. There are division 1 and 2 players who are nearly as strong as I am now. Nevertheless, a lot of us did adjust, and have had 4-plus years to do so. My previous MU’s had supportive friends, some of whom are now in EZC, too. Yes, I have had more time to develop, and have good friends in EZC, but does that explain the rapid growth in recent months? I think it ultimately comes down to EZC culture.
Many of us say we stay for COMMUNITY. EZC has it. Nobody is forced to be part of things, but people really are friendly and supportive. It’s not unusual to find people on IRC chatting about RL, other games, or eFamilies. The MU shout feed and forum are also great places to catch up with one another, to have fun, and to cheer each other on.
Joined with Community is RESPECT. EZC members habitually celebrate one another’s achievements, do not mix politics with MU business, do not steal battle heroes from another EZC member unless it is necessary to win an important battle (sometimes violated, but usually accidentally), and generally treat one another with courtesy.
Another key is COMMUNICATION. There are daily briefings on the forum, keeping members up-to-date on current events in the game, occasional polls and fun activities, and donation days. The IRC and MU feed are also active.
I have grown because EZC culture provides an atmosphere that fosters growth. There is a good supply system with great runners (shout out here to zako, who just had a RL birthday), but the real key is that we can all feel a part of a team with something to fight for. It is the team spirit that is extraordinary.
Now, to celebrate milestones achieved while in EZC, let’s have some fun!
Recently, over a period of 3 weeks, 5 members of the EZC first regiment passed the same milestone in-game. The first person (not in the command group) who identifies both the milestone and the 5 soldiers involved will receive 5 gold. Hint: Four of them were in my week 2 FeMU. The fifth was not eligible.
Norm and I are both about to reach level 200 – he might even be there before you read this article. Everyone who comments on this article with “CURRAHEE!” will receive 200 Q5 food and 20 Q7 tanks, double if you are an EZC member.
I just got my 200th battle hero. There will be 200 USD for anyone who comments at all (again double for EZC members). If you fulfilled the previous comment challenge, you get this one, too, but even if you don’t want to type out “CURRAHEE”, you can qualify for this.
If you correctly predict the day I reach Titan***, you will win 5 gold. If more than one person chooses the correct date, the first one to post that date wins, but others will get 2 gold.
Finally, all commenters will be eligible for a random drawing, with the following prizes:
First: 5 gold, 500 Q5 food, 50 Q7 tanks
Secon
😛2 gold, 200 Q5 food, 20 Q7 tanks
Thir
😛1 gold, 100 Q5 food, 10 Q7 tanks.
All comments must be made before the beginning of day 2921 to qualify.
Special thanks to the following for their donations/pledges for this celebration: WhydoIbother, BeachBunny, TheNorm.
Edit: I misread the day and have corrected it.

great article ! CURRAHEE! (but what does that mean? 😃
"Easy Company was an old division of Paratroopers in WW2 that fought for America in Europe. These men where trained at Camp Toombs in Georgia. A Mountain named CURRAHEE stood tall over the Main Camp.
The men used the mountain to run up and down to train for The War in Europe. They called the runs "3 Miles up, 3 Miles Down."
They used the mountain name "CURRAHEE" in battle as they parachuted in over France and Germany to fight for freedom.
CURRAHEE translated From Cherokee Means "Stands Alone."
EZC proudly adopted this name and this call and they work every day to live up to the legacy it represents. Easy Company stands alone by remaining independent of the government of the eUSA, but remaining ever loyal to eUSA itself. They fight proudly alongside the other American military units."

CURRAHEE! 🙂
Congrats! I think I was one of the first 5 members to reach Titan in EZC (during that Christmas / New Year event where one energy bar recovers full health). I've played eRep for 5 years and EZC is by far the best military unit that I have ever been a part of. Great community, leadership and coordination. Currahee!
Oh and I think you'll reach Titan*** on day 2927

you e-divorced and re-married?
Are you interested?
yes, as an e-attorney i can help you e-divorce for a small fee of 25 gold
Fair question, and nice catch from the profile pics. It's a bit complicated Cotarius, who was my beloved eHusband for over 2-1/2 years, had eDied not long before I joined EZC. I was still in eMourning at the time of that screen shot. He has since been eResurected, as you can see from the comments, but I considered myself an eWidow at the time Norm and I planned our eWedding. Cotarius and I remain friends, and he is still on the short list of people I would like to meet in RL, which unfortunately would involve a trans-Atlantic trip.
that's quite a story
Congratulations Maryam!
I've always known you were a three star titan, Plato is a bit slow in giving you what is rightfully yours

"We are both near some significant personal goals in-game..."
Meh, you gots medals and stuff. You win!
When divisions started I was already D4, when they adjusted I was still D4. I had a ball fighting Gnilly and company whilst freeing Canada. Being CP and doing FA was a hoot. I was proud as hell to command Pickle's Patriots. Whacking the crap outta people over some stupid BH netted me several friends.
Through it all, the best part of the game has been talking with people like Maryam. Where ever you go, whatever you do know this, you've directly affected my eLife and made my real life more enjoyable. Bless you.
