There has been a lack of information from other players on aerial battles, so I'm writing this.

Aviation FAQ

Is it worth buying aircraft weapons?
- Currently the only aircraft weapons introduced to the game are Q1, this means they add 20% damage to fights. This is only a little more damage than fighting without weapons. At a cost of between 30-35 CC each and the fact they are single use (like regular Q1 weapons) it means these are best saved for key battles.

How much damage do I need to deal to get a Sky Hero Medal?
- Around 100,000 damage in an average battle.

How many air battles are in a campaign?
- After every 3 ground mini-battles there is an aviation mini-battle, this means there can be either 2 or 3 per campaign.

1) The Sky Hero's of both sides.
2) Boosters, these cannot be used at present.
3) Aircraft weapons selection.
4) Your aircraft rank, and aircraft points total.
5) Current UK fighters.
6) Current US fighters.

More facts

- Strength does not impact how much damage is dealt.
- A new skill will be introduced specifically for aviation called perception.
- The Sky Hero Medal comes with 30 Gold.
- The winning nation gets 22 points (94 needed for overall victory).
- Boosters cannot be used, accelerators can be used.
- If you have bought an Infantry Kit (pack) you will still gain experience.

Excellent - fighting without missiles was also the conclusion I reached considering the impact and costs involved.

Also the Elite citizen and NE bonuses apply for Aircraft battles I believe.

No way do I fight air battle. Loose all me energy for 40 odd damage.

Damage goes up 5% for every rank, you go through the first ones pretty quickly - even if you're not going to fight much in aircraft battles it's worth doing some just for the energy bars.

Thanks for the article, currently on Staff Sergeant **** It's rather hard to go back to dealing tiny damage in a new role when you are struggling through interminable levels of GOW which seem to take years.

Annoying that boosters cannot be used; this is a bit of a waste. I don't get the inclusion of the 'Sergeant' rankings.. where did these come from... in most airforces the Flight LT, Sqd Ldr, Wing Co and Grp Capt are the right order but why we needed these non air sounding ranks is confusing; it's like they just padded them out as fillers in between authentic air ranks.

At least you can see which are air battles now in the Wars list with the winged emblem if you want to travel to increase air rankings.

Pricing on Q1 air weapons has been very erratic and in UK down from start of £200GB plus to about 33 GBP and falling
