{eRep} General musing about our current government

Day 3,387, 11:50 Published in Ireland United Kingdom by Rusty D

Greetings eIreland,

Firstly, sorry for the lack of articles, however I have been away at work, so wifi is a very poor. For those who might be wondering, I am roughly 50km’s off the coast of Alexandria, Egypt:

Working on board a deepwater semisub drilling rig.

While the work is good, it can be very long shifts (avg 12hr’s a day, but can go to 16hrs a day) as well as it is very physical and tiring. Between that and the poor internet connection (think satellite internet shared between a POB of 180 people), I am limited to logging in only to read articles, do some hits, and reply to PM’s…. which is more than our current government appears to be doing.

Speaking of which….

What the???

At the start of Trito’s term, I thought I would give him the benefit of doubt with how he wanted to run the country. How ever as the days turned to weeks, it became very apparent that he had no clue how to run a country, while at the same time, preferred to be-little other players, instead of focusing on the goals he had set himself before the election. But don’t get me wrong, he is not alone in this current government in failing you, the citizens of eIreland…

Trito Fisher our George Bush

First we shall start at the head of our government, the one and only Trito Fisher, Trito came into power on the back of a solid CP article ‘Focus on the Homefront’, stating his promises to better eIreland, these include😛

1) To attract new citizens to eIrelan😛 On my first goal. In my term, I would expect the Minister of Community to work alongside the Minister of Foreign Affairs to publish articles in other countries to attract immigrants to our beautiful eNation.

Unsure if this has even happened once during his term…

2) To expand economic activity in eIrelan😛 On the second goal. I expect the Minister of Finance to develop subsidies so that both citizens of eIreland and citizens of other countries are encouraged to develop their factories here. I hope to expand the Irish Market, especially in products that our domestic market is weak in.

This has happened, only after someone donated money and gold to the government. However when asked about the requirements for the gold grants, the MoF was very quick to shut down any discussion about the use of government resources (more to follow below)

3) To expand player activity in eIrelan😛 On the third goal. I expect the Minister of Community to handle the Dublin Communes, organize competitions, games, etc. and to make eIreland a united eNation where every player is interested and having fun.

This is one area which Johannes Cauf has worked well in doing. He has released many articles in regards to education and compitions.

4) to have a peaceful term, with only a Training War, so that we can recuperate: On my final goal. I plan to continue the TW with Albania, talk with Bosnia on how longer they need the region, and work towards a short term NAP with the UK in which we continue to hold Northern Ireland.

Well… Northern Ireland was handed back straight away, all existing Training Wars were ended, a absolute failure of an AS was launched against Serbia (after watching our South American friends get wiped) and now we are looking at a dual Airstrike against Ireland… so much for those promises

So out of the 4 promises he made in the lead up to his election, only 1 has been visibly kept, 25% strike rate….

ReleasetheKrakken the General Custer of eIreland

Being a MoD can be an easy job, a fun job and sometimes a strategic job. It can be easy when you just post Daily Orders up in the Department of Defense paper, letting your nations fighters know where to fight. It can be a fun job, when you get together with the CP and discuss plans, come up with comps for the fighters or help arrange Training Wars. And it can be a strategic one, when you sit down and plan on how to help your allies, how to conduct a successful attack or even help our friends with battle plans.

But for ReleasetheKrakken it can be a job, where you spend half of a month asleep and the second half releasing an article every 3 hours from two different papers, all while letting your fellow allies burn.

Our MoD, enjoyed a very very quiet start to the month, not releasing any DO’s, not even asking for the Irish fighters to support our allies abroad (quote taken from this article when asked why we weren’t supporting our allies and not following the CP in his request to help our allies ” well then they should have contacted me. as to what the cp asks : is running an efficient dod department not part of it then.”, However he did manage to release an insult article against the government of eIndia, while are allies burned.

For the record Krakken, this is taken from the eRep Wiki on MPP’s, or in normal speak, Mutual Protection Pacts:

A Mutual Protection Pact (MPP), formerly known as an "alliance", is an offensive and defensive agreement between two countries. If one country in the pact attacks another non-pact country, or is attacked by another non-pact country, the other pact country automatically becomes an ally in the war. If a country is an ally in the war, its citizens can fight for their ally from their homeland. This agreement is favourable because you can count on your partners to come to your defence if you are attacked.

But rest not, he was ready in action when our government planned the great AS against eSerbia (still unsure who thought we could of won it, even with the MoD talking it up, yet here he talks about how we can’t even beat the UK, hence returning Northern Ireland… but we can beat Serbia?? Great plan that was. Now there is a chance we will be seeing FYROM and Spain.

I only hope if you get elected in the next CP elections, you would actually learn the game as well as be a bit more active/alert.

David Allenkey the Berny Madoff of eIreland

As MoF, you are put in charge of the nation’s finances, trying to increase the wealth of the nation, looking at different tax rates, taking part in plans to encourage economic growth with in eIreland. So to do this, you would think it would be a job where the public has the right to ask “what is the government doing with my money?” as well as knowing where funds are coming from and how they are being used.

But alas, our dedicated MoF Mr David Allenkey is like our CP and our MoD, apparently stumbling around lost with in the corridors of government.

Shortly after the CP released this article where he states, that the outgoing Dictator Sluagh had left cc in the MTO MU, which he was going to use for the investment program:

And in the following CP article where our CP, declares the ‘Government’ hand out has begun:

Our wise MoF, barks at questions relating to this expenditure of funds, in the same article where his CP says it is a government handout (at a time, where we have cut down our MPP stack due to lack of money):

Well, anyway… as stated at the start of this paper, my wifi sucks and this alone has taken 2hrs to write (mostly wasted waiting for images to upload to the server, also sorry about the lack of funny gif’s, but they will come once I am back on shore in a couple of days time). But before I go, I would like to take the advice of our great CP:

So, if any party wants to endorse me, please send me a PM and I will discuss what I have planned. After all, I cant do any worse than these 3
