[AU] Changes; Mentors

Day 2,183, 16:10 Published in USA USA by SwiftStrike74

Hello my fellow eAmericans! Today I only have one thing I want to talk to you about and that is the American University (definitely the best thing ever, I'm pretty sure). Anyway, I wanted to talk to all of you today about changes that will be coming to the AU starting soon in an effort to revitalize the program and hopefully keep our most precious resource--the eUSA noobies--from leaving us.

1. Mechanics Changes
2. Curriculum Changes
3. Mentors

Mechanics Changes:

The first thing I need to talk about is the changes in mechanics coming to the AU. In the past the AU has functioned as your standard mentor teach and student listen program. Starting soon though, the AU will be changing how it functions to better serve our new players. So let me explain these changes.

The new American University is going to function as a 2-part system. The first system is going to be the basic training course. In the BTC, trainees will be assigned a mentor and will study under that mentor to learn all the basics of the game. The BTC is simply designed so players can survive in the eWorld. The BTC is taught with a thematic approach covering topics like politics, military, economics, and journalism in addition to a couple others. After graduating from the BTC players will be confident in their ability to survive and function in the new world.

After graduating from the BTC, trainees will have an option. They can 1. Leave the AU program or 2. register in the Specialized Training Programs (STPs). There are several STPs including Politics, Military, Economic, Journalism, and Education. STPs are designed to give players a comprehensive, in-depth, and full understanding of the topic they are studying. STP curriculums are designed to turn players into leaders. STPs will begin with a 2 week "classroom" portion where players will learn all the necessities of their chosen field. After learning all there is to know about the field, players will be given a 1-2 month internship in their field (ex: a student in the political STP may be given a spot as an ambassador for a few months). This internship will provide players with hands-on experience in the field they want to pursue.

Curriculum Changes:

There isn't much to say about the curriculum changes that are coming. The simple and sweet version of it is: The entire American University curriculum is being re-written. This is currently a work in progress, BUT we at the Department of Education hope to have it done by the end of tomorrow or the day after. I know Mazzy Cat is going to be a little sad because I changed her beautiful curriculum, but I did recycle some things, so don't kill me plz.

Mentors

Last but not least is some news on the American University's distinguished mentors. First off I would like to say thank you to all the mentors who have agreed to stay on and help train the leaders of tomorrow. For those who don't them, here they are:

-Tanishq
-Alexandrer_Coin
-Carhugar1
-DylanBAS
-jmurrib21
-Shiloh13
-Syz2

Also we'd like to bid a fine farewell to those mentors who will be leaving us this month and thank them for their past service:

-AlexMCS182
-LordOther
-LTiger726
-MCSH
-Thomas Killah

Next up I wanted to announce to the eUSA, the American University is now recruiting new mentors! The AU is planning on bringing itself back and becoming the LARGEST AND BEST EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION IN THE eWORLD this month (tall order huh?)! In order to accomplish this, we are going to need mentors, and plenty of them! So at this time, I'm announcing that AU is recruiting mentors. Right now we are recruiting mentors to help students learn the BTC curriculum. If you are interested in being a mentor, send me a message (we'll have a g-doc set up in the next few days, but for now messaging me will have to suffice).

Bank Up 2 Strength Up:

Message Arrden to apply for BU2SU! I forgot what his application link is so you'll have to ask him about it 🙂

Stay Frosty America,
