[CP] Road To Self-Sufficiency

Day 4,435, 13:57 Published in Netherlands Netherlands by Het Catshuis

Dear citizens of the eNetherlands,

Today we have, perhaps, a very dry topic to bring to you. But very important, nevertheless. Namely our finances and the continued consistency of our budgets. With an increasingly internationally active eNetherlands, so there are risks - as evident by the recent Irish airstrike on our homelands that luckily was fought off. Much of our utilized expenses are covered by ordinary tax means that are tied to our lands and will be lost to enemies during occupation. The same goes for our lucrative concessions deals with Canada and Iran that are directly tied to our continued holding of our capital of Western Netherlands.

In addition, we've seen the need of increased expenses to cover the promising rise of many individuals in the eNetherlands. Many of the Programs - The Flying Dutchman, The Green Beret, Everyone a House and Build Your Own Stuff - are increasing in costs thanks to the still increasing activity in the eNetherlands. Which is something that should be embraced, not shunned by cutting costs for these Programs. And while we're far from the situation in which it can't be afforded with ease, let us not forget that one day the Work Tax should finally go to 1%! However, let me not cut too much into the field of my beloved Minister of Finance Janty F 😉.

In short, the Netherlands should thrive in alternative means of acquiring money that make us independent from spikes in tax, activity, damage and if the worst comes to show, occupation. And if anything, if all goes well as the recent past, we will see surpluses being invested that would make it possible to expand the focus on military and economic progression. The recent ''Black Friday Fund'' is a good example of that. It therefore makes sense at all times to work on that, regardless of what is currently at stake.

The Monetary Market
Around one and a half year ago I took over the so-called role of ''Money Generator''. To my surprise, this role had been neglected by my predecessors, losing us potentially millions of cc. A shame, as these funds have lately often been sapped for the utilization of Commune Investments or easy access to gold for our economic Program.

The progress of selling cc and afterwards selling gold is a very lucrative one at times, especially for relative smaller nations like ourselves. To illustrate, per acquired gold by selling cc, one looks at a profit of 130c with the current rates. Now imagine often 1000 Gold often being acquired. These rates are, however, too very much dependent on in-game spikes in activity/events. There are (rare) months where millions can be made, and months where one is not even looking at 100 000 cc.

The Netherlands is blessed with a plethora of so-called ''National Organizations'' that are essential in this process. Over the past 1.5 years millions of cc have therefore been made in profit. There is, however, a soft limit on how much any such Organization can do. Therefore it is essential to keep thinking about expanding the scope of the MM Program to other - current Government - Organizations that may not be in use, or are not ordinarily tasked with working with money (examples would be the Country President, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

Q7 Communes
One almost completely dependable way to acquire a more consistent and independent source of income is the establishment of Q7 Companies, in which the Governments pays people to build and work in such a company. Each such Commune brings at least 500 Q7 a month, which in a cc equivalent is more than 50 000. With currently three Q7 Communes owned by the Dutch Government (managed by respectively Heikanu, Dave Brinkman & Shawtyl0w) and another one coming soon on Shawty, we are slowly progressing towards steeply increasing the production of Q7 weapons.

This ties in to the earlier mentioned increase in expenses, especially in regards to our Military Programs. Once again, there are months were significantly more is being spent than in others. In current terms, it can be anything from 400 000 to a 1 000 000 cc, not to mention the oft donated Q7 tanks. These Communes are therefore coupled to the Ministry of Defence, so that eventually the Programs can run independently from ordinary budget, which in turns means a relaxing on current expanses and the possibility to focus on other matters more effectively.

From the cited average expanses mentioned for the Military Programs, it should be no surprise that a few more Q7 Communes are deemed of utter necessity. I have taken steps myself to slowly acquire more Q7 Companies myself and will propose to Congress to make one Government-owned immediately (instead of going through the tiresome process of donating for three-four months as is often done). More may be coming in the later future, although one should take into account no single person should hold too much Communes as some were concerned about when Shawty got a second Commune.

Kind regards,
Your Country President NoTie112
