So it's CP election time again, and I'm supposed to be telling you, reasoning with you, begging you to vote for FG. "Pleading the 5th" if you will. And I will still do that if it seems necessary.
But right now it doesn't. Why is this?
Here is the list of candidates. Last month Fingerguns deservedly got almost 60% of the vote since her only opponent was an upstart, no offense Komeko. This month could be even higher depending what USWP and SFP do.
And SFP...hellooo!? You write articles about the evils of the dictatorship but this month was a great chance for everyone opposed to it to band together and put forward an alternative. (crickets chirping)
You recently had a vote in congress and 15 of 39 congress members voted to end the dictatorship. OK it's not enough but why not work with the other parties opposed to it and run basically a single-issue candidate?

Also, this plausible deniability with Chickensguys is annoying. "yeah we totally had no idea and it's terrible, we were used, but it sure is cool having democracy again let's keep it like this eh"
If it's true that the forum is tyrannical, then what do you have to gain by disowning CG? You should work together. You don't have enough votes seperately, but together you might. Yes you'll probably be banned from the forum but who cares, this whole btch is coming down right?
I don't know, it's just surprising...there is no dictatorship right now, this month could not have been a more obvious opportunity if it was introduced by a neon sign "THIS IS YOUR CHANCE ANTI DICTATORS". Put your energy into fielding a viable alternative.
It goes without saying I write this not as a Fed, but as a skrub playing eRep who wants what is good for the game, ie activity. Even though it's not what I actually believe, I have half a mind to come over there and sort out the SFP/BSP/WTP? coalition myself, if only to make elections competitive like they should be.
tl;dr - Vote Fingerguns on the 5th, the only one who could be bothered to run lmao

You had a chance to put a platform forward for years with us. Yet you still didn't?
I believe the dictatorship is the best course of action within the current game mechanics and I have believed that for almost a year (post-December revolution). I had no desire to put forward such a proposal. But for those who did want the dictatorship to end, Terran is giving good suggestions.
It goes without saying, but you yourself could put forward a platform as well. I know you won't though, because you are also smart enough to realize that the defensive dictatorship supports current game mechanics.
At some point I probably will out forward a platform. But not for January. Because holidays and stuff

Why?
1. Because running a plausible CP campaign takes a lot of effort (never mind if you win). Maybe people don't have the RL time for it right now (Christ knows I don't).
2. Because losing is a kick in the guts. Let me know if you've ever run a CP campaign where you tried and still didn't win.
3. Because, despite eUSAForums being a cesspit (on the whole, selective exclusions apply) a forum is still necessary for the normal functioning of the game government. If not there, where? The same people would move in to any new forum and crap all over outsiders again. So, why put the effort into an alternative? Why get banned when to effect change you need to maintain access?
4. Because tl stand a snowflake's chance in hell, there are certain rituals that have to be followed. The best known is probably having served as any two of vCP, MoFA and CoS. SFP rarely gets a guernsey in any of those roles (or gets them yanked when we do), despite genuine efforts being put forward.
So, for the expense of a lot of time one of us could run and lose. And then feel like crap for weeks afterwards. No, not this month...
Smart SFP members get those positions (i.e. you and me). Everyone else doesn't want to play with an understanding of the game, and therefore they aren't fit to serve in those positions. They would undermine any progress being made by the nation as a whole.
TB4CP in the very near future will be handing out premium cabinet posts and shall we say worker posts (secmed, DoCA, etc) to as many fresh faces as possible. I was going for it this month, but frankly I was worried the December revolution was going to be a shit storm and as such felt continuity was important. I'm glad most people sat this December revolution out.

Can relate to what Ilene said. Losing didn't feel bad but it was a huge time committment, at least around 15-20 hours in the span of ten days. Right now I'm obviously loaded with school and it's just not sound to run so soon.

There is no such coalition. I see it referenced from time to time but it doesn't exist to my knowledge. Occasionally a particular issue comes up that the parties have the same stance on and they'll vote together on that. At times they'll combine for SoH elections but there is no standing coalition. Actually, not everyone in BSP is against the Dictatorship. They don't like it but some accept it as the best course within the structure Plato has forced upon the player community.

Feds/USWP shake in their boots? No, it seems they are married like FG & Pfeiffer. Playing and having majority is not the problem. Blaming/ranting a so called minority/opposition is the problem.
To have a CP/dictator elected should be in the interest of all eUSA citizens. There shouldn't be a winning neither a loosing side. As long as it is be seen like this eUSA is the real looser.
In other words, try to involve more than the 53% that would be a real winning strategy.
Anyway I do appreciate the press activity, better some rant than nothing. 4/10 for Terran Loyalist.
