I think the best way to save this game at this point, is to work on rewriting an economy module, rewrite the political module, and re-integrate those with the military module.

Essentially, just reset the game back to the beginning again.

Admittedly, there will be a drop in players, but to retain more, give current players an incentive to come back, something like a good start off the ground from where new players will start.

Bring back skills and make the game a little more realistic once again.

Also, don't cater the game to new players, but give them an incentive to progress further by catering in general to the make-up of the game, and not catering to one specific player group.

Finally, your best asset of this game is the community. That's what gets a lot of players who quit to come back and is what keeps a lot of players from leaving. On that note, DON'T KILL THE COMMUNITY!

Erase all newspapers and reset everyone's Strength to zero, too?

I'm guessing certain resets won't go over so well with the community but your basic suggestion is good about throwing out all the junk and keeping the players.

media module shouldn't have to be touched. And for all intents and purposes, the strength needs to be reset back to zero. But for players currently playing, they should be allowed to keep say 10% of their strength to try and keep players. Training grounds can stay as they are. All companies would have to be reset.
The biggest challenge to doing a reset would be trying to appease those who have paid money to play the game and improve themselves when resetting them

I wish, but never going to happen - a lot of the biggest players and spenders stick around because they've invested $$ to get where they are - they be pi$$ed if they got wiped plus they'd no longer have a past investment keeping them around - when they die, so does the game

Dont agree with a reset, been playing over 6 years, probably spend $20 year on this game but i log in every day and train/work/fight gradually ive got to a half decent strength, reset it and you wont see me for dust

Better idea is to simply unplug the server.

Not a reset of accounts, just a reset of the modules, back to when it took skill and effort to succeed.
