Day 5,200, 08:11 Published in USA USA by George Barker

When I started playing this game, which I came to from an advertising link in, I think, The Atlantic or something like that, I figured I'd play a few days and then move along. That was 13 years ago today.

I was going to write a long post about how the game has changed, but I think I'll save that for later. Instead, I'll follow a theme that's going on: the most fun and least fun you've had in Erep. The most fun I had in this game was figuring out how things worked, which most of us spent a lot of time doing back then. Staying up late and talking/debating on the forums and IRC with people like Woxan (forgotten now); Publius (where do you think the Publius Fist came from?); Justinius McWalburgson (spelling?); OneEye; and many others whose names escape me (my old e-age is showing). One of the best things about any game, for me, is the challenge of just figuring it out. We did a lot of figuring out in those days. Nowadays, everyone knows it all.

The low point ... I'm going to skip that. It's Valentine's Day, and ought to be celebrated. Have fun y'all!
