swiss news: global news, e-belgiums state +e-japan.
chris jonadicus
Dear swiss people and friends, hello.
As promised in older articles about our global diplomacy and our state of affairs :
(about e-italy's recent change into a progressive democratic nation, instead of its previous long dictatorship)

NOW, we shall mostly discuss about 2 e-nations, when it comes to gloabl news, and state of affairs :
the prolonged dictatorship in e-belgium, and a brief mention of the dictatorship of e-japan.
first of all, as shown below, e-japan is currently in a dictatorship, and it should be liberated soon, either by its native forces, or with external help from allies nations, or from a combination of both.
i wish freedom and much success to all the defenders of demoracy in e-japan.
secondly, we shall now analyze the (very) long dictatorship that occurs in e-belgium, a dictatorship which has been going on for more than 1 year, and it keeps on going, at the nations economy's expense...
to put things into perspective, who are the two major forces in e-belgium :
well, its the #1 and the #2 parties of e-belgium ofcourse.
the ATO party, and the HOPE party, respectively.
the ATO party is listed here :
https://www.erepublik.com/en/party/all-togethers-2920/1
and the HOPE party is listed here :
https://www.erepublik.com/en/party/h-o-p-e-1-2898/1
for its supporters, and for the majority of the e-world, the ATO is a long standing force that defends e-belgium from any threats, both external and internal, and it tries to stop any PTO attempts that might threaten its safety, especially since its a small e-nation.
(and we know that too well here in e-switzerland, so i know that emotion as well)
the enemies of the ATO will claim that they try to maintain the status quo no matter what, or they declare that they are not the ATO's (alltogethers) but the PTO'ers or the (politicaltakeovers), an unfair remark made against them, if i may say so myself.
(especially since gyantse and curlybear have been pillars of the community for MANY years...)
as for the HOPE party, its one of the newer parties of e-belgium, which got rebranded from the remnants of an older e-belgian party, and it formed a coalition of new and ambitious political members.
its defenders will claim that its a good new party thats here to bring a feeling of fresh air in the old status quo of e-belgium.
the enemies of HOPE tho, will claim that the HOPE party is nothing else than a new PTO attempt to take over the e-country.
now, if this allegation is true, then its a big threat for the e-country.
if not, then its slander and lies against a rival party of the ATO.
but the question remains : even if we claim that the HOPE party was a threat of some sorts, and the ATOP party demolished that threat 8 months ago, then WHY does the ATO party and the e-belgian government maintain their dictatorship in e-belgium for more than 1 year?!
its expensive.
its stupid.
its unnecessary.
it costs a fortune to maintain a lengthy dictatorship for a few months, let alone to keep it going for more than a year!
ofcourse, e-belgium is still moving national funds into private organizations for safekeeping, as its shown below :
https://www.erepublik.com/en/main/law/Belgium/251615
(then again, their own safekeeping org only has 345,200 CC's in it and 0 gold, so its not exactly a big amount of ''safety cash'' for the nation's emergencies, if such a need rises...)
link :
https://www.erepublik.com/en/economy/citizen-accounts/2656530
but lets say that the money org's of e-belgium keep up a good amount of CC's and gold in them, and that everything is in order :
still, i cant help but feel worried that a (once) powerful e-nation such as e-belgium is currently at 200,000 CC's, and at 20 gold bars...
if we check out the dictatorship upkeep for e-belgium, it costs the nation around 13,000 to 16,000 CC's per day to keep the dictatorship going, with one day (5032) costing them an all time high of 19,000 CC's in 1 day!
if we add up all those (high) costs of daily expenses into a monthly sum, then the costs for maintaining a dictatorship (even a defensive one), get extremely high.
to the point where its no longer ''good'' for the e-country, but a hydrance for it...
but lets do the math here :
if we say that the median count for the dictatorship's cost per day is 16,000 CC's per day, and we count things into a 30+60 day range, then we have :
16,000 CC's per day X 30 days = 480,000 CC's!
16,000 CC's per day X 60 days = 960,000 CC's!
so, in one month of dictatorship, this costs to e-belgium 480,000 CC's!
and in two months, well, it costs them 960,000 CC's, close to a million CC's!
so what do they get out of this dictatorship? defences? protection?
one could fund an entire e-army with such an amount of money (both in CC's and in gold),
to trade in the market and to earn even more CC's to store extra funds into the national orgs of belgium,
to use such funds for the support of a powerful MU for defence against any potential PTO threats,
or to even fund the newer, weaker players of e-belgium with weapons, food and other wellfare programs for their less experienced players,
so that they can increase the numbers of their active/well-trained fighters, both in ground battles, but also in the air battles too...
instead, they choose to maintain a costly and useless dictatorship module, to strangle any voice of opposition in the national laws and voting of the nation, and to drain the country's economies so that no threat may hit them in the future...
is that wise?
if the dictatorship module was free like it used to be in the past, and without any upkeep costs, then i would say that e-belgium's strategy is paying off, and they are defending their nation in a powerful way, at the expense of their congressional/legal freedoms...
and even then, i would still find the concept of a prolonged dictatorship wrong as an idea, even if it was free, for it would be impractical, and it wouldnt serve a good purpose after a few months, especially since the threat was long gone...
(even if we may consider the ATO's rival party, the HOPE, as a threat, the party had collapsed already from the first couple of months of the dictatorship, with the HOPE party dwindling into just 8 members, while the ATO party is remaining strong at 17+ members.
even if all the other political parties of e-belgium banded together against it, the ATO would still win, as it would have 17+ members+votes, against a combined front of 17 votes, which would at best cause a ''draw'' in most voting processes, but not an overtaking of any degree.
but since all those other political parties of belgium are very different from ATO and HOPE, then we can still count on the old analogy of members/votes in here :
the ATO has 17+ members/votes,
while the HOPE has 8 members/votes.
so, if the ATO party is still scared from HOPE's ''power'', i fail to see a threat anymore...
and therefore, its useless to keep a costly dictatorship in order to scare away a faded bogeyman.
one might argue, yes, but what happened back then, in the old duels of ATO vs HOPE, in older congress laws? was HOPE a bigger threat back then?
well, no.
lets see what happened 8 months ago :
in here, this old law of belgium suggested the potential change of the minimum wage from 100 CC's to 981 CC's...
https://www.erepublik.com/en/main/law/Belgium/242868
both the ATO party's members, and the HOPE party members voted for it, and the NO's from ATO won against the HOPE party, with a strong result of 18 NO VS 9 YES votes...
so the ATO party won in this political voting, and the old laws remained in order.
so whats the worry here?
or even later, 6 months ago :
as we see here, this old law of belgium suggested the potential change of the minimum work tax from 1% to 2%.
https://www.erepublik.com/en/main/law/Belgium/243842
(the dictator of belgium at the time, mr director 9 of the ATO party, had voted ''NO'' on it, confirming to us, that even 6 months ago, the dictatorship was still going on in e-belgium)
so, both before and after the dictatorship, the ATO party always held the power, or the status quo of the nation, both legally (via voting) and illegally (via the dictatorship).
and to repeat my previous statements on the issue, if the ATO party is still the strongest one in belgium, its led by wise people such as gyantse and curlybear, and it commands the majority of things in e-belgium without any dictatorships, then whats the point in having one?
their rival is gone, the threat has vanished, yet they still maintaining that dictatorship in fear of a looming foe...
the facts are :
the ATO has 17+ members/votes,
while the HOPE has 8 members/votes.
so, if the ATO party is still scared from HOPE's ''power'', i fail to see a threat anymore...
and therefore, its useless to keep a costly dictatorship in order to scare away a faded bogeyman.
wake up e-belgium, and stop this expensive dictatorship.
rebuild your economy, and strengthen your MU's and your national org's, instead of wasting it on a costly module that helps noone, and it eliminates any form of democracy in the congress or in the national laws voting system.
thats all for now.

bien présenté
first hand witness?
non, j'aime la façon dont l'article est présenté.

Ya siapa pun bisa menilai artikel, tetapi penilaian seorang saksi langsung lebih berarti
Sometimes we believe what we want to believe. Quite hard these days to be objective
I am a direct witness and I approve this mans article
@AG.Camat Menteng : thank you, my good person!
@AG.DF : i might not have been a first-hand witness to the start of the dictatorship, but i witnessed it happening, and staying in e-belgium for more than 1 year, so...
plus, i have talked with first-hand witnesses of this situation and they've confirmed to me what im saying in my article, which proves the validity of my facts.
next time, try to be more accepting of my articles, and post your thoughts in english, and not in indonesian (or add an english translation right next to the indonesian text, so that english speakers can understand your posts...), thank you.
@OKayOK : thank you sir!
your approval means alot to me, cheers
As a past PP of HOPE and the President that was disposed by ATO, some clarification from my side.
As the country had stagnated, HOPE ran a immigration campaign to try and revitalizing the country, Curly was aware of this, and at first I worked in consultation with him on the project. Unfortunately, there was a moment where he said that there should be no non-English speakers coming in. I thought that rather eRacist and disagreed. Curly and Gyansta and gang had not implemented a system of immigration, and Congress was totally excluded from discussing immigration. In fact, after 4 years of rule, ATO had not even created a place for Congress to discuss anything.
The Party started the immigration process, and the country started to grow. No players entering the country through our immigration process knew each other, but were random and screened for threat. They could join any party they wished to join, and the Current MOE is one of these immigrants and a die-hard ATO member.
For some time, HOPE and ATO grew at a perfect parallel due to the immigration process. The country for the first time was rocking. We had articles, we had discussions. Things were great.
Problem is, when you are the only Party that speaks to the public or makes any effort to grow the community or nation build, you tend to pick up in popularity.
Our party started slowly taking the lead, and eventually I won the elections by 1 vote with ATO still holding congress.
True to my campaign promises, we tried to get congress into the same room, elect a Chairperson of Congress and start a bipartisan congressional immigration committee to deal with all immigration (which as the ruling party, was a promise we were elected on).
I have regrets, and here is my main regret in the country. The election for CoC was done by an congressman from ATO, who created the mechanism for electing him, and only had access to the results. Even though I was happy with this, my party was not. I had a choice to make and decided to back my party. We rejected the election of the CoC and demanded a new election via mass mail ingame. This is when it all went wrong. ATO started blocking all payments to the reserve bank, which in turn stopped all programs in the country. As our relationship worsened at this point, and ATO refused to run another election, the coup happened.
After some time after the coup, I tried to negotiate with ATO about getting players out of the country that they perceived as a threat to their rule. I wanted to negotiate an end to the coup for the betterment of the eBE society. I offered to leave the country if they promised to drop the dictatorship. They would not even give me the respect of an answer.
I am now in the process of leaving eBE and HOPE has been totally decimated by the dictatorship. Activity in the country is down, and at least 1 third of players are e-dieing.
There is no excuse for the dictatorship anymore, but it continues. All opposition to the never ending rule of ATO has been destroyed, as was their intention.
Great article by the way. Nice to have such a balanced view
OKayOK : thank you for your in-depth analysis on the ATO vs HOPE rivarly and how things escalated up to the horrible coup that the ATO's MU did, the ''saligia'' MU.
i am surprised that your goverment wasnt informing your own congress about immigration and laws...
in our congress, we always communicate frequently with each other, be it with circular PM's, or with chat systems, or with forums (in the older years).
but your congress should be informed all the time about the immigration status of your e-country, and that communication should happen via the use of circular PM's to the majority of the congress, at the very least...
as for the part where you say that the ATO party :
''They would not even give me the respect of an answer.''
i know that too well, for when i tried to propose to e-belgium to join our e-swiss alliance of ''AEGIS'', their goverment officials (of the ATO party) didnt just treate me rudely in my own articles, they refused to answer back at me to any of my PM's to them, with the exception of 1-2 very polite and helpful e-belgian congressmen.
(note that back then i was the CP of e-switzerland, and the leader of the alliance, and i got ignored without even a single answer, so imagine how they would treat a person in a lower political position...)
as you say, there is no excuse nor reason for such a dictatorship, and especially a prolonged one like that.
They just ended the dictatorship, as in This Morning!!!!!!
thats amazing!
we did it, e-belgium is finally free from its prolonged dictatorship!
who said that investigative journalism is not working? 😉
Had nothing to do with your article 😛 But yay nonetheless
yeah, thats why the dictatorship ended a few hours after my article was stating the issues of the prolonged dictatorship...
it was a wild coincidence, right? 😉
"as for the HOPE party, its one of the newer parties of e-belgium, which got rebranded from the remnants of an older e-belgian party"
My dear, I don't know who ever told you such a nonsense about HOPE.
HOPE is one of the longest existing political parties in the history eBelgium.
If you have a time, just check elections results from 8-10 years ago, you'll see the reality.
HOPE and ATO are actually only two remainants of the eBE past.
It's true that none of the original members or the founder are still active.
Nowadays some newer players are leading it.
@monster grinder :
my good friend, i apologize for any error that i might have said about the origins of the HOPE party.
one of my sources, when i asked them about the HOPE party, they told me that it was a newer party that got re-founded as HOPE, from the remnants of an older e-belgian party''
from what i know personally, HOPE is an old political party, and its name tag #number of #2898 proves just that,
while ATO has a tag number of #2920, thus making it a much newer party than HOPE.
also, the party ''the belgian dream'' has a tag number of #2905, making it older than ATO, yet newer than the HOPE party.
so yes, the HOPE party is very old, i just dont know its exact story of origin, formation and of evolution.
however, it serves as a nice party of political opposition against the monolithic rule of the ATO party.
that has been evident.
i thank you for the information about this cool party and i wish to hear more about e-belgium's past.
A good article with deep insight.
thank you for your kind words, my friend.
i try to do my best.

thank you, mate!
Wasn't a year, but heh ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The point of the dictatorship was to prevent immigration, which was not balanced and didn't represent the interests of the original community.
The dictatorship has been lifted as of this morning.
The full costs of the dictatorship upkeep was reimbursed via orgs transactions by the dictators.
We would've let it end sooner, but the opposition never pulled the trigger on the liberation 😂
Great article, it's not often people take the time to delve into the messy eBelgian politics.
well, more than a year, or around a year, is still a very long time for any dictatorship to exist.
(especially one that drains a nations economy dry...)
furthermore, one does not help a nation by doing a dictatorship but by having a progressive and open democracy going on.
otherwise, it becomes an authoritarian e-nation, where the few rule the many, and any opposition is silenced violently.
its good that you have lifted the dictatorship, it should have happened much earlier, but i guess better late than never, right? 😉
well, the ''we would've let it end sooner, but the opposition never pulled the trigger on the liberation''
sounds like an odd excuse, if you ask me... 😃
the opposition party's people have asked you guys to drop the dictatorship, yet from what some of them told me earlier, they got promptly ignored.
anyway, lets let bygones be bygones.
make peace on your e-nation, and please, make ATO and HOPE to work together for the improvement of
e-belgium, not against eachother...
thank you for your kind words, curlybear, i value your input and you are a decent person.
have a nice day.
"well, more than a year, or around a year, is still a very long time for any dictatorship to exist."
It was 7 months at most, so nowhere near a year.
"(especially one that drains a nations economy dry...)"
Our economy is fine, it just doesn't show in the treasury or the main bank org. I won't go in details because it's not something to discuss publicly anyway. Just know that the impact of the dictatorship was marginal at most.
"furthermore, one does not help a nation by doing a dictatorship but by having a progressive and open democracy going on."
That works when people don't use game mechanics to overthrow democracy.
"well, the ''we would've let it end sooner, but the opposition never pulled the trigger on the liberation''
sounds like an odd excuse, if you ask me..."
Alright, you create a MU and pay the 1 million cc to start the liberation. Waiting was pretty infuriating, especially when you know the opposition has the money already available in their MU. The influence bonus in battles would've been insanely high.
"the opposition party's people have asked you guys to drop the dictatorship, yet from what some of them told me earlier, they got promptly ignored."
The "opposition" spent months insulting us and twisting every word to fit their views. Our reply was to not reply anymore.I personally got very tired of getting harassed every day, so I just stopped dealing with it.
"anyway, lets let bygones be bygones.
make peace on your e-nation, and please, make ATO and HOPE to work together for the improvement of e-belgium, not against eachother..."
I absolutely agree, I don't intend to participate anymore in politics in any way other than providing knowledge when asked. The new generation needs to get their shit together and trace their own future in the game.
"thank you for your kind words, curlybear, i value your input and you are a decent person.
have a nice day."
❤
I find it surprising that you never ever admit any fault in anything that you do. You know full well that even with the money to start the liberation, but it would have been wasted because assessment after assessment had us not winning.
I admit that the vote for CoC and me choosing my parties feelings over us peacefully creating a government was an error, one that I regret. On your side, you can never admit that you called a false flag on a PTO that did not exist.
Oh well, not my problem anymore. I will be happy to leave behind the toxic, inactive mess of a country your party created. You know, the country where there is still an article from day 4907 in the top five, and the only government official that communicates in any way, be it limited is Jarabe
https://prnt.sc/1taxu36
OKay OK, well it's a great article. That's why it's still in top 5 xD
