Rules for Efficient Training Wars

Day 5,391, 10:16 Published in USA USA by Herr Vootsman
From the office of Herr Vootsman, Minister of Foreign Affairs;

I’ve been meaning to write down the unwritten rules of training wars for months. (note, I started writing this in April!?)

I view this as more of a work in progress - so I plan to edit it based on feedback from comments.

The goal of these rules is to facilitate efficient farming. Since we are all limited by fuel and can only fight ~70 times a week, ideally each deployment earns BH/SH gold. It’s not ideal from a farming standpoint to overhit each other, since that just wastes fuel.

The best use of fuel then is:

20g - Double Sky Hero – typically only available at select times (during epics, end of week, late night)
10g – Sky Hero
10g – Double D4 BH – pretty rare
8g – Double D3 BH – need MP, but readily available.
6g – Double D2
5g – D4 BH
4g - D3 BH
4g - Double D1 BH
3g – D2 BH
2g – D1 BH.

The rules are fairly simple – you are “entitled” to the BH/SH if you hit first, you do an acceptable amount of damage and the wall is correct.

Let’s break this down a bit further…

First hit is whomever hit first. During busy times, it’s not uncommon for people to be waiting for the battle to start, and hit at the very first second. Try to be courteous. Mistakes happen, sometimes the game lags, and many players are thinking they are first. Message them and ask – offer to split gold, etc.

Acceptable damage is subjective, but I’m going to list guidelines – in event weeks, expect to need double. This isn't a license to overhit anyone who isn't quite up to the threshold, but a guideline on a reasonable amount of damage:

Air: 30k winning, 25k losing
D4: 500 million winning, 100 million losing
D3: 1 million winning (e.g. you need to use a bomb or native hit), anything losing
D2: anything
D1: anything

The wall must be correct. If you drop 500 million on a battle that USA is to win, but the other side has more damage, it’s up to you in put more damage down to correct the wall. Otherwise, if someone else fixes the wall, it is acceptable for them to overhit and take your BH/SH. However, it courteous to ask the person first to put a little extra to flip wall if its within reach.

Additional rules:
Hitting both sides. These rules apply to the USA side of TWs. While hitting on both sides is encouraged for low D, as generally there are more than enough open BHs to go around and this will double your gold/fuel – you’re not entitled to these by nature of your hit on USA side.

Campaign of the Day – due to needing to spend 1000 energy for daily challenge, there is no first hit policy for COTD – whoever has the most damage at the end gets the medal. The idea is that you dump your damage here if you don’t have time to wait for an open battle, not try to snipe peoples medal here.
