Reviving DoEd: Are You Ready?

Hello beautiful people!

I figure since I've been named in both Groot and TB's cabinets, I should talk about some of my plans for the upcoming executive term.

I was offered a role by both of them on the same day, actually, and they both offered me positions as WHPR writer. Soon after, I did some cocaine-filled brainstorming about what I could/wanted to accomplish. I came up with an idea, pitched it to both of them, and they both seemed to like it.

The task I've volunteered myself for this term is reviving the old Department of Education.

When I came back to this eWorld, I saw an eUS that was a lot smaller than I remembered it. I understand a lot of programs have come and gone (mostly gone) for lack of warm bodies or lack of interest, but I think the worst things we could have possibly given up are our active efforts to help new citizens. The lack of these was, in fact, the first thing I noticed when I entered into eRepublik again with the partial perspective of a new player. The "First Steps in eRepublik" media tab was barren, and only 1 of the top 5 parties had reached out to send welcome mail. So I'd like to take this opportunity of working in the executive to try and rebuild our new player retention as much as I possibly can.

That's where the DoEd comes back in. It will be my goal this term to make sure an official government article containing links to copious tutorials for new players constantly appears in the "First Steps in eRepublik" media tab. I've already been combing through old DoEd articles to compile that list of tutorials, and I'll be encouraging the public to put out new, fresh, updated tutorials as well.

Regardless of population, regardless of military situation, there should ALWAYS be a focus on welcoming new blood.

I'm looking forward to this job, regardless of which CP I end up working under, and I hope that the eUS never lets that paper slide into obscurity again.

It's time to make eMerica great again!
