PEACE beating a dead horse in Scandinavia

The resistance war in Trondelag is raging. With only a few hours to go, the wall stands at -75000. Just yesterday at approximately 13:00-15:00 eRepublik time we saw PEACE bring forth mobile units from various countries to prevent Norway from reappearing on the map.

One could ask - why bother, when the war was lost yesterday with Norway being removed from the map and the MPPs stacked against Russia gone? Whatever regions Russia gains in Norway, the Nordic neighbors Sweden and Finland are able to capture and then liberate for Norway. Regions, which will then be very much out of reach for Russia due to Norwegian MPPs activating on attack.

The answer is national pride. Russia had its eyes set upon Norway and PEACE thought the victory was almost at its grasp. After all, there's a country with 10000 population attacking another with 1000 population. How could they possibly lose, with so many MPPs stacked against Norway? The possible outcome would've been grim for Norway - being stuck in one region, with the only land connection being to Russia, a country which held all the aces in that war. But Russia lost. The MPPs are gone and there's practically nothing Russia can win in this war anymore.


Almost got to feel sorry for them.

Now, as their final act, Russia is trying to prove its citizens their power and that they can reach the core regions of Norway and claim they had their revenge. Even, if it's now only for self-deception. Parter rejoices, as the Norwegian hospitals were destroyed - as if that was the main objective. Russia, if you wish to destroy all Finnish hospitals and activate our MPPs, be our guest. We might even do a contract stating we'll retreat our three regions so that you can destroy them with no sweat. It should be a no-brainer for you - after all, you seem to value hospitals much higher than activated MPPs.


Here's the offer, what say you?

I wouldn't be surprised in the least, if the Russian leadership had exorted pressure on PEACE to provide them with mobile troops from all over PEACE - they already were on high heels as PEACE had the intent of giving the Norwegian high oil region to UK, something which Russia definitely didn't approve. PEACE knew the war was lost already. However, they just couldn't refuse: doing that might have risked the Russian membership in the alliance and in the future, West Siberian Region. It's much more profitable to appease Russia by a simple trinket in Norway than to give up the most valuable region in game.



The PEACE leaders are not idiots. They know the game in Scandinavia is over, at least for now. Whatever happens today, there's nothing to be won. Normally, this would be a time to admit defeat. However, since this is eRepublik, hell freezes over before that happens 🙂
