Michael Holden for CSD PP!

Day 783, 09:21 Published in Canada Estonia by Michael Holden

Yes! Party president elections are closing in (they're on Friday!) and I need my lovely party members to prepare themselves for the voting day.

Voting is supposed to be democratic, and by all means, that's what I'm asking for. Go and vote, but make sure you're voting for the best. The one the members elect is the one who will represent the Social Democrats for a month.

Who am I?

I used to be a citizen of a foreign country. I am happy to know that it does not bother my friends here. I have gathered quite some skills with leadership, politics and co-operation from my experience abroad. To be more specific, I've been a party president, a Minister of Foreign Affaris, a Vice President, and a presidential candidate. However, bad things like Phoenix happened and I left that country.

In eCanada, I ran for Congress a few days after I got here. Needless to say, I did not get in, however I got 12 votes and for a newcomer, that's surely a good result. Later, Jacobi agreed to include me in his cabinet in the event of his victory, so here I am - your deputy Minister of Immigration!

Why not Zblewski?

Zblewski has been active both in the forums and the IRC. Activity is essential for good leadership. Generally, I believe, Zblewski is in the right party, but his views are significantly different from those of other members. I believe he is a bit more authoritarian than the leader this party needs.

Democracy in the CSD

In my opinion, the decisions of the party should be discussed with more than the current half a dozen party members who visit the forums. Since we have over 230 members, I believe we should promote the forums and the IRC chatroom to more members, so they would have the liberty to know what's going on and the liberty to doubt the leader's skills and accomplishments.

Ideally, more members would visit the chatroom and the decisions the party would have to make would previously be discussed in the chat. I'm hoping that if members are there when these discussions are held, they have a much better overview, the ability of expressing their opinion before anything happens and the liberty of disagreeing with what is done.

Mobile voters

I understand that this is a difficult subject to handle as members of the party have very different views on this. I personally encourage organizing mobile voters as long as these voters are a group of volunteers who sign themselves up previously, to avoid awkward misjudgment. For these who are willing to give their vote to the party, I would, as a party president, create a sign-up form right after the elections on the 15th.

Public record

The CSD must stay this way and I do not intend to limit public access at all. We have nothing to hide!

More about democracy

I wish to make this party a bit more democrat than it is right now, in fact I'd like to announce that under my command, the party will not lean itself towards ~hyuu~ists or -annu-ists, since everyone is free to express their mind and choose their side, I would never, as a party member, discourage being either or neither.

And under my command, democracy is not limited to human beings,

To prove that I am fully able of co-operation with the establishment, I will also show my support for chicken, and under my command, all chickens who belong to the CSD have the right for a member mask on the forums and for open discussion on the chat. Welcome aboard!

Vote for Michael Holden, for your party president, January 15!
