Macedonia

Day 3,311, 10:03 Published in Greece Greece by Blue Lord

Today at work, I met a person who is from India. I told him that I come from Greece and he got really excited. The reason is because he is an archaeologist and he got the chance to travel and stay all around Greece. Athens, Ioannina, Thessaloniki, Dodoni, Drama ect. When we started talking about cultures and other things regarding Greece he stated that food in Thessaloniki is by far better than anywhere else in Greece and asked me why. I explained to him and to the rest of the audience that there was a migration of Greeks from Pontos, Asia Minor, Smyrna, and Constantinople towards Greece many years ago, and that the majority of the established themselves in Macedonia, and that because of that many cultures got together and so on. Then I tried to explain that Macedonia is a region in Greece but then the Indian Archaeologist whose name is Paul interrupted me saying with assurance in his voice: "Yes, the real Macedonia"... and smiled. I smiled back and then we carried on talking about food.

It doesn't make a great difference or even a difference at all that an Indian Archaeologist living in England knows that Macedonia is a region in Greece and that it is Greek (actually calling it the Real Macedonia) but still it's a great feeling to know that there are scientists out there that they know the truth and they are not afraid to share it.

It's unnecessary to say that I find the NAP atrocious and of course I am not going to comply with it.
