Katt On The Coup
Kattrrina
G'day Aussies
There have been a lot of accusations and raging going on in the past few days over the coup.
This is just my opinion on why it was done and why I supported it.
Unless you were living under a rock the past week, you should have seen that our cp has gone a little more than crazy.
1. His rogue airstrike and Trade embargo laws.
2. His article (now deleted) and threats of causing more harm to the nation if everyone doesn't do what his says.
3. His pms about wanting a perma ban thereby leaving our nation without a leader able to do certain actions.
I have been in this nation for over a year and a half and call it my ehome even though its not my rl country. And as such I will not standby and watch while someone intentionally causes harm to our country.
To me there were only 2 choices leave this to continue and have more damage done to our nation or to do something about it.
I chose to do something about it and was about to suggest a dictatorship when someone else (not Rusty like some of you try to infer) suggested it on a pm i'm on.
Within a few hours of this suggestion we had prepared for it and got it going with the result you see.
To me this is a temporary measure to protect our nation from someone who has clearly lost the plot, and needs to be removed from causing more harm.
Icetek
This is someone has returned after more than a year of inactivity and is remembered by me and probably more people as a troll.
Hes pushing for power which has me very wary of him as I don't trust him as yet.
As is said trust is earned not just given. Your actions so far have had the opposite affect of earning my trust. You can talk all you want but your actions speak loads, and the fact only you and DPR had access to RBA is not helping.
That said if in the November elections you are elected, I will respect the peoples will, and unless you try cause harm to our nation, continue with my normal fighting mode.
Henry the 8th
Wow henry you support the coup in private and then tell the world you didn't.
You a eunuch or something because it sure appears you have no balls.
The rest of us are standing up and saying yes we supported this and will take any consequences from it, as we believe it was the best thing for Aus before irreparable damage was done.
I stand by the coup and if I had to do it again I would. As aus is my home and I will do what I feel is needed to protect her.
Length of Dictatorship
As far as I am concerned the dictatorship is temporary and should end when a new cp is elected on the 7th of November. And I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is. On this date unless the people of Aus decide to keep a dictator past this date I will pay the same amount of cc towards a liberation war as I did towards this coup.

Now I have a question, if it happens that Ice Tek wins the CP elections, is the current government willing to end the Dictatorship, or shall you continue with it? This needs to be included in your ''Length of Dictatorship''
Whoever wins BDR the result will be the same. Ending of dictatorship
I have severe doubts about the chances of the Dictatorship ending if Ice Tek wins. Yes you can claim you will respect his victory, but officially you cannot say that when you already have doubts about him now..
I may have doubts about him, but I will respect the voters decision.
Aus does not need a dictator most of the time.
Yes, I trust you by saying that, but you are the only one vocal about it as of now? Where is all those who supported saying they will return it into a democracy? Until then I cannot believe the current government word for it.
Although, you're not in the government, just like me.
"Yes you can claim you will respect his victory, but officially you cannot say that when you already have doubts about him now.."
I have those same doubts but, as I've said elsewhere, if the people vote for Icetek it's none of my business. He would be the duely elected CP.
What you did was totally uncalled for and broke the confidence of Australia whe performing rogue acts and giving away information (orgs list) which was not yours to give away. You trashed all the responsibility that was untrusted to you. CP is not a king, he/she is a government employee hired to do a job.
She's right! 😉
And the way you say Trust is earned, not given. You cannot say that based on a year of inactivity. Yes Ice Tek is in your way the troll of evil and will always remain the troll in your eyes. In this way you are NOT giving him the trust, and he has the right to be given it. He may have had a past record, but people and I will remain by saying that EVERY human being can change their past regardless of what they have done.
When/If he is properly elected and shows me hes worthy of my trust, he'll get it. Forcing his way in like he is now, does not help him.
Politicians will force their way into power everywhere. Have you looked at the situation of USA, Donald Trump is essentially doing that by yelling at people in his own party, yelling at oppositions. It is a working way. Everyone has their own way of producing their voice, and they should be respected for that regardless of Left wing, center or Right wing.
Actually Hillary is up, not trump http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/us/elections/polls.html
BDR I trusted you and where did that get me .You could of have came to me for a chat and i might have been able to help you through the dark time.
From now on i have decided that I will only trust ppl with deeds not words

Hi Kat
I don't argue BDR went off the bend. I do firmly believe this all went about the wrong way, on all sides and what I am annoyed at is it has damaged us by taking focus away from what's important. I also don't like the precedent where if something has not gone to the plan of the few action is taken then we hear what's been decided by congress.
I believe in our country (the country I -like- to believe we are) that we come together and work collectively where we can. Disagreement is rife and that I don't argue (and round here never will). But the end simply does not justify the means, and I think had it been agreed by congress or by a more urgent driver/consensus it would have played out better - I don't really think there was a risk icetwk would steal the cash or set the country to ransom. The actions to actually bring people together to discuss it be it on discord or wherever else run purely contrary to that even given his and others dislike of each other.
What has woken me up though is yet again while we bicker inside the castle, enemies are at the gates and we don't have enough people left to man the walls. It's good at least congress supported the person who is now dictator - but this was a choice that was not really a choice as by the time the decision was done, it was already enacted.
I hope and trust in a couple of weeks a transition will happen to the next CP whoever that may be. And that the few who did this will accept that result and we can move on back to what is important - the community and our country.
No problem with what is said. I've said elsewhere ghat if Icetek is elected I won't say a word. Also, if Congress says the dictator goes I will fight for the revolution just as I fought for the coup.
Maybe premature, I would be seeking to have a contingency plan in place. Makes it difficult as Australia doesn't have any working documents for guidelines, but we need something to grant the authority that we took. Something such as if 5 Congress can be reached that agree we have a coup. That way it's already been voted on.
That's what the catch was. If it had been today, next week or never, would things have been different? Anyhow it's just something for next months Congress to consider.
A coup is a last resort action that should be taken if there is either a need for CP-laws to be proposed, or if there is a genuine concern org passwords need to be taken back as the dic can get them reset. Other than this, I can't see a valid reason for a coup other than people want to take over. I see neither having applied in this case. And obviously, guidelines are just that because I doubt regardless of what policy or guideline this would have happened anyway. And it would be easy to have had 5 congressmen agree - that's enough of a core group to demand a coup anyway. I think this is a slippery slope dill that we're on with this. I hope that coups don't become the norm in the future where there is a disagreement about being wiped or not.
One thing no one has considered, a coup cost 1 million cc. Think on that fo a second. Even if we had nefarious intention that's a chunk of change to come up with. Not saying there isn't some wacko that wouldn't give a second thought, but it is a sticking point.
We contributed this amount out of civic duty. Whether you like what happened or not it was not without personal sacrifice on our part.
There's no real need for further discussion. There are those that didn't like what we did, lesson learned. Next time, hopefully there is no next time, the answer I'm hearing is "Please leave Australia, you are neither wanted or desired. Your efforts are a hindrance not a help.".
Ranger Bob I get where you coming from.
I am used to things moving fast in a nation before I came here, so didn't think twice about how fast it was done.
Icetek may be an okay person, I don't know till i see him in action as a properly elected cp. Once that happens I'll be happy to give him the benefit of the doubt, that hes not going to go back to his old ways once in power..
If people decide they'd rather leave BDR with the keys to the kingdom so to speak. As cp he can get them anytime when there is not a dictator in charge. Then I will as dill support a liberation war before the new cp is in.
This has woken us all up to the fact that having only 1 candidate in cp elections is dangerous.
And that specific plans need to be in place in case this sort of thing happens again
So really, this was done with no plan in place, without any consultation with congress and that's okay?
This has been the most breathtakingly anti democratic thing I have seen in eAus in 6 years.
At least the Indo PTOers were up front about what they were doing.
Has Elite C proposed an AS or Embargo on anyone? Is the treasury and RBA at he same amounts as before? We took screen shots just before the coup in case something happened before Admin turned the orgs over to Elite C.
Actually there is precedent in the real world. In lieu of any superior commander, it is an officer's duty (in the US anyhow) to defend the citizenry from foreign or domestic terrorist act.
That's entirely missing the point.
I don't believe you actually have a point, if so what is it exactly?
Dill - the annals of history have used that justification for a coup before - That it is an officers duty to defend from foreign or domestic terrorist act.
My question is, was this a terrorist act? That the CP quit, passed on the passwords and that person called on congress to decide what to do next? Is that really what we are talking about here?
History has been witness to many a justification like this used for a military coup. And on less basis than this. Next time, what will be the standard? That a few disagree with the elected government? That the few know better?
This what I mean by a slippery slope. Surely you appreciate both the irony and road this places us on. Also long term, most "revolutionaries" that do this aren't fondly remembered by history either.
I really dislike the use of the word terrorism in this case. It wasn't, and to draw similarity to the US description of the word and how they justify actions they take, is both insulting and offensive.
The new proposals for law etc about to happen are pushing of individuals agenda. Many things being pushed are things that have been voted down lots of times before.
We will soon see the shift of members now too scared to voice over the new changes happening
I know dictatorship takes off some "democratic power" in this game. But it's all about what you can clic. Until there's a trusted player, as Thedill, I see no problem with this. Congress can talk as before about law change until the "freedom" (with all his risk).
About BDR, I know he has been part of this community from before I came here. I can't know exactly what kind of player is. I still can't understand his way of playing. In a short time strange sitations, it's not the first time that changes his thought. I remember about ADF request for command, refused after some days because of personal project, than again a try in the ADF.
Doing this as president isn't a great move.
BDR I hope you can find your target in the game, and hope it will be something useful for eAustralia too.
Fair enough Katt. I truely do understand why people had a fit with me having ORGs. But it also gave me a chance to show my worth and not for nothing maybe i dint gain 100% trust, but even if i gained 5% at this point ill take it.
My past fallows me i know. I got no one to blame but myself. But understand why i get so offensive/defensive when thats being thrown in my face. Even muderers in jail have it easier in life then me lol
Been there Icetek. It changes with time, but can be slow.
Everything happens for a reason. I still dont know why BDR chose me but in a way im glad he did. It was not worth the headaches for me but i think those with a head can see the truth, inbetween and the lies.
Most of us here act on emotion and our minds get clouded.
