Day 4,580, 08:51 Published in Chile Georgia by elToki

The Napoleon of the plains

On a day like today, on June 4, 1790, Juan Calfucura or Kajfuvkura (blue stone) was born, the son of Logko Wentekura was born near Villarrica (Chile), his name is due to the fact that he dares a lightning bolt, he was given a blue stone, which announcing the birth of a military leader, as a young man he settled near the Llaima volcano, where he was named a military Toki, around 1840, Kajfuvkura and his "Llaima che" crossed the pampa and registered in Pwel mapu (Argentina) , aware of the murder of his Pewenche friend the Toriano toki, at the hands of the Boroganos Melin and Rondeau toki who also agreed to an alliance with the government of Bs Aires over that of the Mapuche leader, this treason caused the wrath of Kajfvkura and hit the area they met this Malón as the "masalle massacre" in 1834 killing both toki, a year later Kajfvkura gathers Mapuches from the sector to begin a formation in large salt flats.

Despite everything in 1935 Kajfvkura declared sympathy for Rosas whom he considered a patriot over the Spanish Royalists.
In 1837 in the “battle of Quentuco”, with more than 1,000 spears, he attacks and defeats his enemy Borogano the Toki Railef, who had been tired of spoiling cities such as Bs. Aires, Córdoba and Santa Fe, carrying more than 10,000 heads of cattle .

To date Kajfvkura already dominated part of the province of Bs.Aires, San Luis, Mendoza and not only that, it had a strategic location for the mountain trade routes, "salt", a vital substance for the time for the preservation of meat, and livestock management with huge hectares for grazing.

This led him to sign peace with Rosas and in 1840 appointed him colonel of the Argentine army, in exchange for economic relations and military support, by now he was known as the Napoleon of the pampa, in relation to the French military.

In addition Kajfvkura increases the power of its confederation by allying with the Rankulche of the toki Paine, the manzaneros of the toki Valentín Sayhueque, and the tehuelches of the toki Casimiro Bigua, also establishes trans-cordillera alliances as with the wenteche of the toki Quilapan and the pewenche of the toki Purran, alliances that gave the Mapuche confederation greater political, economic and military power.

This power allowed him to successfully confront his Nagche rivals such as Kolipi and Coñoepan, to Koliqueo and to keep at bay toki Katriel who knew how to be in alliance with Kajfvkura, even the Argentine army itself for a long time and in 1852 Kajfvkura sent thousands of spears to swell Rosas' troops in the "battle of Caseros", a decisive battle in the Argentine civil war between unitarians and federalists, the battle marks the defeat of Rosas and the loss of power and the relationship between him and Kajfvkura especially begins to wear down Because of the power that Kajfura had, which already made Buenos Aires leaders uncomfortable, in the same way the Argentine civil war benefited Kajfvkura since he knew how to negotiate with both sides, and maximizing his diplomacy, he had in his favor the weapons but also the strategy of dialogue.
