LISTEN LIVE: RadioStar

Greetings and Salutations, My Fellow Americans and Ajay:

It has been awhile since I last wrote an article. I have been so busy with other things, including my RL enterprise, RadioStar, that I have been unable to grace you all with an article, but there are some things that I want to get out to the public concerning eRepublik and RadioStar.

As you may have read, President Artela has placed me in charge of the nation's eRadio, including the eNPR Oval Office Radio program. With all of the failure of the previous hosting service, I have offered my radio network as a free service to the eUSA community. Starting tomorrow, eNPR Oval Office Radio moves to its new online streaming provider, RadioStar, at its new time - 19:00 eRepublik Time. It is hosted by President Artela and yours truly, Jude Conners.

In addition to eNPR, the Federalist Party is also bringing its weekly talk program, Fed Radio, to the RadioStar network. It makes its network debut TONIGHT at 18:00 eRepublik time. Fed Radio will continue to be hosted by Tiacha and produced by Eliwood Sain, with me as co-host. Fed Radio will be weekly every Thursday.

The RadioStar staff is happy to have two great programs coming to our streams. It's awesome to provide to a community that I feel is my very own. I have been a part of the eUSA community for over four years, so hosting these two talk shows on a network of which I am an owner/operator gives me joy. All of us at RadioStar are looking forward to a long relationship with the eUSA community.

Listed below is some pros and cons of moving two of the most popular talk programs serving the eRepublik community;

PRO: Superior Audio Quality
Being a legitimate non-profit and commercial-free online community radio network, RadioStar provides CD-quality audio at a constant 128 kpbs bitrate. Everything is crystal clear, in full-stereo. The previous provider could not.

CON: No Skype or telephone Calls... YET
As of right not, RadioStar is unable to allow calls from Skype users or direct-dialed telephone calls. Future plans include the institution of a "studio"-line, but that is still in development.

PRO: RadioStar Teamspeak3 Voice Chat
In lieu of a Skype or telephone relay, RadioStar uses the newest Teamspeak3 technology to broadcast interactive, audience-participation programming to the stream. It is a tried and true method that we have used since the inception of RadioStar. As a matter of fact, we have a weekly interactive music program every week and recently held a record-release party for new recording artist Jacob Creel using this technology.

Teamspeak3 is amazingly user-friendly and easy to use. In addition, it can be installed on a computer or a smartphone. For the computer, you do need a mic and speakers. obviously, the Teamspeak3 smartphone applications do not any additional hardware. Best of all, Teamspeak3 is a FREE DOWNLOAD. CON: Archives
Since RadioStar is a broadcaster, we have little space for hosting archives of streams. To compensate, the eNPR shows will be archived on the BTR page until a more permanent solution is found. I will also personally keep a copy in my Dropbox.

PRO: A NEW Community Communications Medium
Because RadioStar has a 500-person Teamspeak server, we are able to offer its use to the eUSA community. I have already set-up a permanent eRepublik room, just for the community to use. This offers a new way to instantly and effectively communicate with other users. Think of it as IRC with Voice. Or better yet, go and check it out at voice.radiostaronline.net and see for yourself.

I am quite sure that there will be "growing pains" of sorts by introducing a new technology to the community, but rest assured that the friendly and courteous RadioStar staff will be there to offer help to anyone in need. We're in this for the long haul, America... and it is our pleasure to serve you. Thank you for your time... and thank you for listening to RadioStar.
