As my Emperor commands: Food in Okinawa

Day 3,472, 02:40 Published in Japan Japan by Darshu

My Fellow eJapanese Citizens,

On this day like any other day I was wandering the darkness within my heart, alone in the wind...

On this day His Imperial Majesty, Ouibster, Ruler of Rulers, Eye of Amaterasu-ōmikami, The Sacred Light has sent his messenger, the Minister of Education, Oraizan down to me who spoke with the voice of the Leader of the Cult of the Sun.

Lord Ouibster bestows Oraizan with the holy command!

Darshu to Oraizan: "To what do I owe the pleasure of beholding your beautiful countenance this early in the day?"
Oraizan to me: "You are (politely asked) to talk about your trips to Japan to boost Culture and Activity! In English of course!"

On this day I've been victimized by a fierce psychological attack. My soul is being devoured by the Minister of His Majestic Cult. I have no choice, but to obey the heavenly command.

I happen to know Okinawa a bit better than the rest of Japan, so I would like to start with Okinawa. I have pondered long and hard, how not to make this a Wikipedia article, yet show something about the rich culture of this land to boost culture and activity. If you can say one thing about Japan and Okinawa: it is a great place to eat healthy, tasty, and exotic food. Thus I will show you the usual food I was eating there (and I happen to take a picture of it). Every picture I am using here is mine (except the gif of Orai), and was not part of the Internet before. I hope this touch will make this story a little bit unique.

My "Western Breakfast" on the first day:

There is already fish hiding under the bacon, and salad has this dressing made out of some orange like fruit from Okinawa. Pancakes are small, sometimes flavored with green tea.

A more typical Okinawan breakfast (biased towards what I thought I could stomach):

The purple object is sweet potato. It really has this color in reality. I don't remember the rest anymore. Mind the fruits across the table. In Okinawa you get fresh fruits during the whole year. If my math is correct this trip was in November, so you can see the seasonal fruits of Okinawa during its "autumn".

In a local pub, I ordered a beer (Orion) of course and asked something along with it. This is what I got: soft tofu with fish flakes...

FYI: Don't try to eat it with chopsticks, unless you are a pro.

....and smoked-roasted mushrooms and leek on a stick:

I just realized the rest of the pictures from my second trip are on my other drive, so that's all for today.

Hail and Praise our Lord of Light, Ouibster, may his eyes illuminate your poor lives like the shining sun!

Oh, almost forgot! This article was supported by the Ministry of Culture and Education. The author declares that no competing interests exist. The funders had no role in study design, data collection and interpretation, or the decision to submit the work for publication, however, they are happy to send you weapons and sustenance if you vote and/or comment. (- is what I was told by Oraizan... Her email in reality was very polite, if a tad formal, but considering her old age, acceptable.)
