[TB] Bygone Threads of YesterYear

Day 3,538, 17:41 Published in USA USA by Tyler Bubblar

Long ago I compared our community to a Persian rug. I likened the players in our community to threads in said rug. I lamented on how a once beautiful and vibrant community became a little bit less each time we lost citizens of the eUSA and did not replace them with equally as talented, dynamic, and involved players. Today when I look around at what has happened to eRepublik and the community we built up around it I think often of the aforementioned article.

Inevitably my thoughts also drift to the many players that have come and gone. I have decided to publish a list of their names. These players were not all “prominent” or holders of significant offices, but they were integral to the health and functionality of the eUSA community. A real life comparison that semi fits is the middle class. One of the most important indicators of the health of any society is how strong its middle class is. Many of the players I will name were the glue if you will. They kept the wheels of the machinery turning, added flavor and depth, kept IRC rooms buzzing, flocked to the forums and posted by the hundreds and thousands. In short they were what is best about what we have built around the backdrop of eRepublik. Because I am a Fed many of the names I will list will likely be Federalists. I invite you to list your names in the
comments. This is in no way a complete list. Without further ado in no particular order:

Duncan Crowe, Petey Alazar, Tiacha, CrashThompson, Malarkey83, Aramec, Mazzy Cat, Hale26, John Largo, Jefferson Locke, Jaden, Jude Connors, Artela, Israel Stevens, IndexInfinity, Clydeo, Greene12, Fingerguns, MourningStar, BigCdizzle, Josh Frost, George Armstrong Custer, Trekker, BlondeNinja, Stephen S, Paul Proteus, Apollo, IndexInfinity, Dave Gulya, Evil Elvis, eShades, Resoula, Melissa Rose, WookyJack, Kevin Sheridan, Nick Bergman, PilotPhil, JA Lake, John NWP, Tenshibo, DLS, Sle7en, EnterAwesome, Dk3dKnight, Eliwood, Talostastic, BamaBettie, Kelly J Brown, Twisted_Pixel, AlexJ, Slybabymichelle, Cromstar, MrCarey, etc

Not all of these players are “dead” in game, but the void of their activities is still felt nonetheless. I reiterate my invitation for you to post your list of players you or the community misses. As always I thank you for reading. Until next time:
