{CPF} Path to reforms, part 2

Day 1,972, 14:37 Published in Canada Canada by Dozzer_x

Salutations and greetings!

In this last week, the party hasn't seen much activity besides the electoral campaign that started for this month's party presidential election.

This month we are seeing a number of 8 candidates that are running in the party presidential election, which is quite a big number, approximately 6% of the party membership.

And as you may know, I am running for re-election. I wish to state though, that if I win, I plan this to be my second and final term, and I have no intention to run again in May.

First of all, I think it's most appropriate to begin the article with the presentation of my goals for this month and what I have done.

This is the article where I've announced my candidacy and my goals for March/April 2013

The most important points on the goals list
- to respect and protect the Seven Tenets of the Canadian Progressive Front;
- promote a good relationship with the other top 5 parties;
- enhance internal party communication;
- organise a party census;
- get the best results in the Congress election;
- change the voting system in the presidential primaries;
- get a CPF member to be nominated as CPF candidate;
- try to promote activity within the CPF;

After a month of worked, I've gradually done my best to achieve all my goals, and thus I can say I have achieved the following things, in a chronological order:
- I have organised a party census;
- I have tried to enhance internal party communication;
- I have promoted a good relationship with the other parties by setting up a mass PM with the other party presidents, developing a relationship with CW and MDP on IRC as well;
- I have organised a transparent Congressional selection based on the responses of the candidates to my survey;
- the party got the best results in the election, despite others (MOO) blaming us for supposedly not conducting an "appropriate" campaign;
- I have organised a transparent country presidential primary, and I have used a new voting system which was proven to be most useful;
- I do realise that I hate utterly failed in my goal to get the CPF nominate a CPF member for presidency, but in contrast, I think the CPF has supported the best presidential candidate out there, and nevertheless, the CPF members have been integrated in the Executive as well, cooperating with members from all other parties;

Last but not least, I have endlessly protected and promoted the Tenets of the GUM, and thus this can't be set on a chronological table, as it happened all the time. I have also posted weekly reports of my activity as president.

What will I do if I am re-elected

To put it up simple, I'll continue the work I've started.

First of all, I'll continue to do the job on my own account. We are a party that upholds the supremacy of the game mechanics, and the game mechanics give all the power to the president. The party titles are merely symbolic. If one want to become president of the party, they must put all their work and effort into that party. Getting others to work for you by establishing some duties for those with party titles is merely gibberish. There is one person that has been elected, and that person is supposed to do the work that the game mechanics permit them to do.

My first term was a term in which I've tried to promote internal activity. I'll dedicate an important part of my second term, if re-elected, to develop the relationship with other parties. Of course, we never have to forget that we are the premier party of Canada, and thus we have to stand straight in front of others, and not get ourselves servile to others. I will only develop a relationship with those parties that are interested in constructive cooperation for the mutual interest of Canada.

I have to stress nevertheless that inactivity is very hard to combat in certain cases, but in most other cases it wasn't, and I've got some people to take part into discussions in the Moose Calls. Another important fact is that we have managed to keep our members almost intact, while the internal activity has increased in comparison with the last month.

In regards to my congress and presidential policies, I think everyone knows them. My policy was clear in the Congress: promote new candidates while keep some of the older ones. This has proven to be very constructive, and I must say that I'm proud of our Congress caucus. As with the presidential election, I think I've made myself clear when I've stated that it is my wish and desire to get a CPF-member nominee. Since the situation with Spain is stabilising, we might see a change on the political scene of Canada. And the CPF must take profit from that.

In the end, if I get re-elected, I hope we will all be here on the 14th of May, continuing the progress our party started on the 16th of March, and getting a more solid base for future endeavours, keeping ourselves the premier party of Canada.

Got Moose?
