[AB4CP] Building Our Strength
Ash Brandon
"Strength through Unity."
Hello all, my name is Ash Brandon and I am the Secretary General of The Unity Party, dMoD of the United Kingdom, and The Unity Party's Presidential Candidate.
• In this article, I will be telling you my plans, both domestic and foreign, for the month.
• In the next article, I will be releasing the identities of the members in my cabinet, as well as what their key role will be in government this upcoming month. I encourage you - if you would like to be a part of government this month, message me.
Thanks for asking.
Let's start internationally.
~ Orion ~
When it comes to foreign affairs, sticking to Orion is the way to go. They have been extremely loyal and helpful to the eUK, so the right thing to do is to pay them back with the same loyalty. Moreover, in light of recent events, my administration will be advocating for the prompt addition of Germany to Orion due to their increasing loyalty and assistance to both our country and alliance throughout the liberation of the UK. We cannot allow such commendable acts of allegiance go unnoticed. I will also be closely communicating with key members of Orion about all of the options feasible in our current situation. I will make sure that the UK expresses their concern about the present circumstances that impede our progress as well as work towards a solution that represents the people of the UK.
Of course, MPPs will be checked out accordingly and those that aid in the betterment of our country will be examined and renewed. I plan to re-introduce and revamp the MoFA this month while hoping to maintain excellent foreign affairs with not only our allies in Orion, but those around the world. Working with Orion and other allies has been very successful so far, and under my administration, the UK will begin to "settle down" into Orion and continue to work closely with other member countries as well as other allies that promote our battles as well as lay down damage for us.
When it comes to things back home, however, things are a bit dead. The MoHA will be busy making sure that there are accurate guides to help our citizens grow in-game, excursions that provide fun, entertainment, and prizes, and in-depth updates about everything going on in the homeland. Improving communication between the administration and Congress will also be an objective this month as I wish to bring the legislative and executive branches just a bit closer in order to make informed and planned decisions as to which course the country shall set upon.
I would also like to open up a couple of referendums referring the state of the economy and the policies that we implement. There is a high potential for a booming eUK economy; We just need to figure out what works best for us by properly discussing, debating, and voting all of the options we have offered to us.
As for the MoD, the CtA initiative has proved to be successful since its re-implementation. I plan on continuing this incentive to boost participation in battles. I will be seeking support from Congress to continue the funding and maintenance of this program under the next Minister of Defence. I would also like to implement a program that gives food for selective damage done during air battles due to the importance they have in a campaign. The Discounted Tank Fund will also be continued and both incentives will be continually advertised in the DO articles (those will be continued too
😛). An active and involved MoD will be key to our success, and I hope to deliver on that promise.
Overall, I'd like to see a bigger push for a more involved government this term. Getting citizens motivated to fight for their country as well as the other country that stand by them in battle is not an effort that can be taken on individually, but rather collectively.
Keeping the eUK safe from all threats, foreign and domestic, is the main objective this term. Rebuilding and maintaining the infrastructure on which this country was built in this crazy atmosphere will be difficult, but if anyone can do it, the eUK can.
In the next Brandon Manifesto, I plan to introduce key members of my cabinet and ministries as well as further elaborate as to what roles they will play throughout the month. I hope I have your support coming up on February 5th. If not, give me a minute. I'll warm up to you. ♥
For a Stronger eUK! o7
In solidarity,
Ash Brandon

Excellent. Looks like a good plan and that's two good articles in as many days - best a CP candidate has done in a long while.
So;
You plan to continue in an alliance.
You plan to continue with MPPs.
You plan to continue CtA.
You plan to continue discounted arms.
You plan to continue daily orders.
You'd like to open up an economic discussion (even tho we just had a large one that pretty much discounted rapid changes in position in the current econ module) and foresee a booming UK economy but don't specify any detail as to what that will entail or cost.
I'm guessing you don't have a plan so essentially you'll be continuing the current practice!
On one hand its disappointing you haven't raised some actual pressing and long overdue issues the UK needs to grapple with but then again it is somewhat reassuring that your term as CP will be a pretty standard 'ticking over' term we're used to. Might be a tad dull but given your (seeming) inexperience its probably better then a series of radical but misguided attempts to do stuff.
"...you haven't raised some actual pressing and long overdue issues the UK needs to grapple with..."
What issues are you referring to?
Well our military needs a massive overhaul for starters. Now the BAF was originally set up to be the National MU with Congress approved funding - but unfortunately with the exception of Nifty, TUP Family and one or two other plus people who have joined independently it didn't take off. Most of the other MU didn't want to become involved. Now having thought about alternatives I think maybe the RN should have been made the national MU - it has the structure in place for people to fold into and it has plenty of regiments empty for people to fit in. That's one option - I 've not heard anyone else come up with any proposals.
Do we need a dedicated Air Unit?
We need people who are active - irc, discord, telegram, it actually gets lonely when I've got no one to talk to
Paul Tyndale for president?
Why do we need a National MU?
What we need are interesting MU's that provide entertainment and lulz...
Paul's touched on the Military issues of Aerial combat and MU structures but there's also the issue of future support for Aerial warfare as well as training or skills.
The economy doesn't need a major overhaul but the current set-up does need pushing through in the manner first described if we are to get any benefit out of it other then the touchy feelyness of being open market (more benefits i.e profit could of been made with protectionism but that argument lost the debate).
Comms was raised but only in passing and Paul again made a clearer stance on the issue.
Something else not touched upon was the shrinking population and how this affects pretty much everything we do. No mention of the potential risks or rewards!
No mention of specific funding areas such as establishing a MoE program (for example).
The list is endless & ongoing and could easily fill a months worth of an active congresses slate in debating the finer points and pro's and cons.
Ultimatly I don't think Ash's articles are the place to have this debate as I'm unsure wheter he has the ken to understand it or (and I may be unfairly characterising TUPers here) the balls to make hard and unpopular decisions.
So nothing new then, just a rehash.
you might as well vote Harambe
lol
surely a gorilla would just ape the previous administration...
Seriously, yes, much is being carried over - the bits that worked well. No sense reinventing wheels when we have other areas that still need fixing. I firmly believe Ash is the person who can make things better for the eUK. He does have experience - he just has never bragged on it, he's one of those people who works hard in the background to make things happen. And he isn't entrenched in the "that's how it's always been" attitude that has permeated eUK politics for way too long.

I typed it out all Notepad.
What does bragging on about my past show about me? I'm not arrogant and won't change myself to appease the minds of people that just want hear what they want to hear, because there truly is no appeasement when you'll dislike someone no matter what just cause you're not who they want you to be.
Don't even speak about experience in this either. Zaphod has been inactive this past month and hasn't even committed to the people that he's actually running for the people. You keep speaking about how great he is but where are the plans? What are the moves? What is he going to do? Where is the certainty that electing him will not bring malevolence to the Isles? No one is speaking about this and it doesn't matter whether or not I'm running for CP, this is more of a civilian concern. (sorry if you're rooting for Appleby, but the same applies but a little further 😛)
What matters is what I have planned for the country. You're building up my plans to be weak and without potential but then refer to using fallacious statements like "the list goes on and on" to exaggerate these biased and tilted comments.
If I haven't articulated my ideas enough for you, then maybe you should ask more direct questions about certain topics rather than shooting me down every chance you deem necessary.
Sound fair?
CSRF nonsense wiped ny comment and largish reply.
Buggernuts!

How exactly do you plan to "revamp and reinvent" me?
