The Q10+ (The Quick Questions) – “Allies” Edition

The US has recently lost Alaska to Russia and the forces of PEACE. While this may have been a small hit to the American psyche, I can say this is not the beginning of the end, this is simply the beginning. We will clash and trade territories with our enemies, likely throughout the course of this conflict. We will not win every battle, nor will we lose them all. It will be a struggle, of this I can assure you, but we will not be alone in our fight.

After the strong response my recent interview with Canadian President Jacobi received, I really wanted to get to know more of our many allies. I decided to do something a little different and instead of doing an article focusing on one individual, I attempted to contact the leaders of ten different nations currently allied with the United States. Seven of them were able to take the time to answer my questions…

Q: How do you feel the relationship between your nation and the US stands?

“Since the downfall of ATLANTIS, many nations took to different paths. But even though the roads may differ, good friendships will always remain. I believe both eNorway and eUSA share common values. We are both populated by citizens, soldiers and politicians with integrity and high standards, and so we walk towards the same goal.”

“I feel that the current relationship between Romania and United States is doing just fine. We talk daily. Representatives of both our countries discuss the emerging conflicts around the eWorld and analyze them so we can be prepared for what's coming.”

“I think that the relationship between Sweden and the US is good. The relationship was perhaps a bit shaky during the Sweden-Germany war, but the way the US handled the situation was good and you have earned a lot of respect from Sweden because of it.”

“Yes, ATLANTIS fell, but I can see Finland and the US as strong allies despite that. Finland signed an alliance with the US to help protect their homeland against the PEACE invasion. We have had good trade relations and military support for each other. The reason why we have good relations is our common enemy.”

Q: How do you see the friendship between your nation and the United States progressing in the future?

“I think that the relationship between Romania and the US will grow stronger and stronger.”

“I think we have a good relationship which is also improving. We have just signed a new MPP which is great. I think our friendship is also going to improve because of the situation the US is in now with the threat of invasion, and Sweden is going to stand by your side.”

Q: What is the current attitude among your people in regards to the world being at the beginning stages of possibly the largest war ever in eRepublik history? And what do you think your nation’s role will be?

“We are going to continue to fight against PEACE, especially after their political takeover of our congress. Our role in the war will not be the most important one, but we will have some effect, as we plan to send a great number of our soldier into the countries that we have MPP’s with that are non-PEACE members.”

“There are concerns that we may also become a target for a Hungarian offensive. Poles are ready to fight and are awaiting the future. I hope that we show how we can be the best.”

“I would describe the current attitude in eNorway as calm before the storm. We are preparing in silence for what is to come. With the recent, massive and cowardly attack towards Canada, there is naturally some concern of what will become of eNorway, should such a storm turn against us. But what we may lack in numbers, we make up for with will and northern rage. If the world falls into the largest war history has to see, eNorway and her citizens will do their part. We do not have the numbers to match our enemy, but we do have the will of the Vikings.”

“Wars create fun for us theocrats and war is the reason for our e-life. We are a small nation with few people and unfortunately we can not make wars of conquest. Our goal is to change the fate of battles.”

“I would say that the current attitude is that we are quite excited. It could be a very interesting war that we are facing. The fact that we will probably be able to fight from home makes it even more interesting. I also think that Sweden will play a big role in the war. Our population is quite small, but we have a very strong military. Sweden is also a country that is at risk to be invaded, even if the chance is smaller than it is for the US. So Sweden has a large role to play in the war.”

“Romanians are preparing for worst and hoping for the best. We will stand buy our old allies even if this is about US, Canada or even Norway. We don't care at the moment that is EDEN or Fortis. Both are from the ex-ATLANTIS block. However UK failed miserably and now we see who the rat was all along.”

Q: Where does EDEN stand in its relationship with Fortis currently? Can you say what the level of communication and cooperation is between the EDEN and Fortis is in regards to military and security matters, if any?

“We have been close allies for so long now, that even when Atlantis fell we have been able to keep a good relationship with each other. The US has an MPP with almost every nation in EDEN and even though we are not in the same alliance I still consider the USA a friend of Sweden, and so does EDEN I dare to say. Because of the situation today we are of course in good communication with the US and Canada.”

“It is probably too soon to assess the answer to this question. Of course we cooperate with each other, but it is not yet perfect cooperation.”

“Finland is excited and proud to fight alongside EDEN and Fortis and their allies. We are currently giving the best military support we can by sending our strike force, NTJ, to attack at just the right place and time. But I can see the possibility of aid by other means as well, such as blocking.”

“I believe that EDEN and Fortis will become a type of partners against the PEACE alliance. If they do not work as partners, PEACE will simply become too strong and it will be too tough to stop them from conquering the New World. At this moment I believe that EDEN and Fortis are working together, especially in military affairs.”

“The communication level between EDEN and Fortis, especially with the US, is even better than it was in ATLANTIS. We all saw the joint military actions and had a lot of fun doing those special operations.”

Q: Do you have any message from the people of your nation, to the citizens of the US?

“Dear Americans, thank you for your support and effort during congressional and presidential elections in the last couple of weeks. Unfortunately we managed to win only the Presidential battle so we are crippled at this moment, but when we recover, I hope that connection between our two countries will be stronger than ever.”

“The Swedish peoples respect for America is high. We were really impressed by the liberation of Greece for example. We consider you a friend and ally even though we're not in the same alliance. You will have our full support in the war and we hope that this will bring our countries closer.”

“Expect a big war. You will be attacked on many fronts. We must organize ourselves well to counter this. It probably will be a long war. Create stockpiles of weapons, gifts and gold. We and other allies will try to help you… but you have to fight together and not to waste resources unnecessarily.”

“As the USA became the home to many Norwegians pursuing the American dream during the late eighteen hundreds and the first decades of the twentieth century, we tend to feel somewhat related to USA. After all, there are just about 4.6 million Norwegian-American people living in the US today. And I feel we have brought some of that with us into eRepublik and I continue to look upon eUSA as relatives. So the ongoing assaults on eUSA is also an attack on eNorway. Yet we are small in numbers, we will always stand behind our friends in the West. Keep up the fight. You have the Vikings with you, to hell and back!”
