Earlier today I got a threatening in-game PM from someone and it got me thinking…here is my reply!

I am not a traitor...Never have been and never will be. I worked very hard for eCanada, I was there when London fell, it was probably eCanada’s finest hour! Look at my record, I have more TP awards than many.

I am moving to a place where politics and thieves don't ruin the game-play environment. Look around and take some time to read about the history of eCanada, it is full of crooks who buy votes to get elected and then they make laws to benefit themselves and then a group tries to overthrow them and it may half work this month and you still don't get rid of the problem because the few who can still afford to buy their elections to keep real progress from happening. In eCanada there is usually little to no resource bonuses, rarely a NE, the taxes have been too high for a long time, leadership doesn't listen (and I don't mean just the CP, it's just as much congress's fault).

I am leaving eCanada and a lot of my friends so that I can play in a better environment. In eUSA, they regularly have battles that make sense, they have a lot of resource bonuses (in part because of the number of regions the game gives them as well as the abiilty of large numbers to aquire and maintain those extra regions). One thing in perticular that helped me choose eUSA as my destination is that if you look at how many players are online at any given time, eCanada averages 20-40, which is fine for general play. However, we are in the midst of a rather bigger war effort defending our own regions and we still can't manage to get the 1600 citizens to raise that average...How do you win battles with small numbers. eCanada has done as well as it has because of it's friends and allies and in the past few terms we have really not treated our allies as well as we should. But the bonuses and strength lies in large numbers. And I for one and tired of fighting and struggling with congress and the CP to move the eNation forward!

How do you fix eCanada?
First, lower VAT and Income taxes. They are preventing players from growing, they can’t sell their products and make any profit. And it get’s so bad that MU’s, congressmen, and bigger players who don’t understand eCanadian economic’s are buying from outside eCanada (something the last few updates made much easier to do). If we lower VAT and income taxes we will be able to take advantage of an increase in tax revenue due to larger quantities being purchased, instead of traded or bought outside the nation.
Second, Change MU funding. Congress has looked at MU funding a lot but what we have been doing wrong is that the accountability is too hard to track and impossible to hold MU’s accountable when they lie or cheat with fake numbers. We should be petitioning the admins to add to the game a way to see what characters are fighting, he heavily rely on “out of game” forums or stat generators. We also need to remind MU’s that their funding comes from taxes generated, so when they buy their supply outside the country or trade players “outside of the market” they are cutting off the hand that feeds them!
Third improve our relationships with our allies. We have great allies, they are so great that for months we could do nothing but fight for them because our allies have us ringed in…That needs to change, we need better access to real wars, our fighters want it, some of our biggest guns move from eNation to eNation because of the NE bonus and because of wars, we could retain strong players if we didn’t have to sit on our hands so much!
Fourth, remove thieves from leadership! In the past months we have had known thieves brought back into the gaming environment and put into leadership positions, what did they do? They continued to inject themselves into political take-overs of decent parties. They have been doing this for more than a year now and we let it happen. Players are uneducated when it comes to how a party works and what makes them strong. And everytime a party get’s close to that top spot they become a target for PTOing efforts…Why…EGO….Why do we keep feeding them?
Fifth, cut the ROLE-PLAY in half! I was in congress 2 terms in the 603 consecutive days I have been playing this game and the role-playing at work is too much. The role-players need to stop or cut back. Their arguments are not forward thinking, they don’t move eCanada forward, they keep eCanada behind all the other eNations. How you ask? Simple, read through some of the open door congress on the forums, the arguments are not productive, there is no compromise, there is no reason, there is just argument for argument sake. And when they cannot get a consensous then the legislation stops and gets tabled for another month… Role-playing doesn’t help get things done, it prevents the players who understand the mechanics of the game to get real solutions passed.

So this is why I am moving to greener pastures. I wish everyone the best and I encourage everyone to rethink selling your vote! A bought vote is a step backwards!
