Time to give back!

Day 2,144, 10:06 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Madelina de Melrose

Remember when you were new to eRepublik, trying to learn the ropes and running out of food, energy and occasionally, patience?

We don’t want our newest members to get so frustrated they quit, do we?

You’ve succeeded. Probably with a little help from your friends. If you’re like me, someone came to the rescue when you hadn’t a clue what do do or how to reach a goal.

Now’s your turn to give back.

The NHS exists to help new eUK members get on their feet. We support them with food (and the occasional bit of advice!) until they reach level 30 -25,000 points. Of course, they have to do something to help themselves. If they gain more than 25 points in a day, they get 500 units of food (that’s 250 level 1 food, 125 level 2 etc); between 1 and 25 points they get half that, to discourage those who are just “gaming the system”.

Does it work? I’ve been helping with distribution for the last couple months (it’s fun!) and the thank-you notes I’ve received tell me that it’s keeping players interested and involved. And when they reach level 30, they get a note of congratulations from me – with a suggestion that they expand their involvement past making goods and shooting the odd enemy. Have I produced a potential new president this way? Only time will tell.

But none of this works without your help.

We need food. A LOT of food. Failing that, GBP or gold will help us purchase the supplies we need. The only way we get this is from our members who want to make a difference and help new members succeed.

So please – donate! You can send your donations to carlini8 or Dr Kawishiwi – send them a separate note telling them what you donated so we know to keep it separate from their private stock. It’s easy – go to their page, and in the upper right corner, click on the donate key. It’s the gold one, next to the envelope. Help us save e-lives today!
