The day after

Day 352, 08:33 Published in Slovakia Portugal by butnaru

The presidential elections are now history. The will of the ecitizens of this country now has a name: Artur Fabre, the President of eSlovakia. We all have to applaud his victory - and please allow me to be the first to do it publicly. In the name of the members of eSDP-eSDS, I honestly congratulate him.

The candidate of eSDP-SDS finished the electoral race on the second place. No bottle of champagne was opened, but I definitely call the result "satisfactory". To all who voted for eSDP-eSDS's candidate: it's a privilege for me to thank you. I won't let you down.
I knew from the beginning that I enter the competition with a big handicap: I'm not Slovak and most of the people in this country didn't know me. Some of you maybe saw me on the battlefield, but that was not enough. Please don't take my words as an accusation: nobody could say the people here are nationalists; on the contrary: looking at the conversations I've had, I may say that this is one of the most open-minded and free from "ethnic" prejudices community in eRepublik. And I thank you for that.
As Artur Fabre said yesterday, it's normal for everyone to vote for a friend, for someone he/she knows. I've tried to compensate this "handicap" with a detailed, well-structured government program. We will continue to promote it, as we think it will really help eSlovakia become stronger.

Now, rebuilding the country is the first priority for all of us. Even if the administration will not be fully functional until November 25th, when a Congress will be elected, it's time to work together for the benefit of the entire eSlovakia. We should all help the efforts of reconstruction and the party I lead will fully support all the measures that will have a positive impact on the life in this country. Of course, we will also criticize the government if wrong decisions are made. But we will also bring our solutions, not empty political disputes.

You might see me leaving the country from time to time: it's because I answer the call of the battlefield. But I will continue to help this country even if I'm far away, fighting for those who need me. Besides, the brave members of my party will always carry on our mission.

Long live eSlovakia!

As a P.S., I'd like to express my gratitude to all those who translate their articles in English - and to apologize for not being able to translate my words in Slovak. I'm not sure that "Google translate" is good enough and I don't want to use it
