Thanks to the voters, and good luck Rikian

Day 1,782, 06:19 Published in Ireland Ireland by Bristel Akina

Dia duit, eIreland.

I decided after this long long week of campaigns and the election day to thank those who voted for me, and to congratulate our new president Rikian1776.

This morning's final election tally:

Citizen - Party - Votes - Percentage of Votes:

Rikian1776 - Irish Freedom Party - 85 - 43.81%
irishbhoy1967 - Irish Kingdom - 48 - 24.74%
mirek12345 - Independent Voices - 43 - 22.16%
Bristel Akina - Just Another Party - 18 - 9.28%

What does this mean for Ireland? What can we gather about this data?

I believe this shows that the Irish are looking for someone fresh, and for someone who doesn't have a general plan whatsoever. Not that it is a bad thing, but Ireland isn't necessarily impressed with details and history.

Rikian garnered almost half of the vote out of 194 total.

irishbhoy1967, rumored to have not been "serious" about running, still gained a quarter of votes, which might indicate a loyal following given his past connections.

mirek12345 was a serious candidate, yet fell just behind ibhoy, with almost a quarter of votes as well. Does his past history make him a weaker potential candidate, or is it not his time for the spotlight?

You may speculate as you will on the reasons why I didn't win myself, or gain more than 10 percent of votes, but I will admit I am not as well known as I once was, and maybe I should spend more time in the field before running again. Is that a possibility? Yes, I think I would continue my political career, and I hope that others will consider me in the future.

I would like to thank those 18 voters who chose me, and I hope in the future we can work together closely, as I will be working with the rest even more.

I think I'd like to run for president of a party, or start my own, hopefully building on the small base I seem to have interested.

Thanks for voting, everyone, this is an important aspect of citizenship, and of a democratic society.

Make sure to comment below, all voices are welcome, and I'd like to hear your questions or concerns.

Let me know if you'd like to see interviews, I'm always willing to return to my old career of journalism as well!

Slán,
