Slovenia Marches Towards Western Europe

Day 851, 23:57 Published in USA USA by Desertfalcon

Over the past couple of months EDEN has had a tight grip on Western Europe with only Portugal and the U.K. remaining entirely free, however Phoenix looks ready to attempt to break that grip. With Italy's recent declaration of war on Slovenia it appears that Italy is going to let Slovenia region swap with them so that Slovenia can gain a border with Polish held regions in Southern France. While Slovenia is a small country they currently have 6 MPPs activated in their war against Poland and would be able to attack the French regions without setting off Poland's MPPs.

The two regions likely to come under attack are Provence-Alpes-Azur and the Rhone Alps. The Rhone Alps will be a much higher priority target for Phoenix since it is a high wood fortress region for Poland During the past few weeks with well over 4,000 citizens. From here Slovenia would have to region swap with France if they want to advance any further, then they could either liberate Midi-Pyrenees or head into Southwestern Germany and liberate two regions there. Luckily for EDEN Spain's holdings will limit the amount of damage Slovenia can do against Poland. Still, it's worth keeping an eye on Phoenix since if they are successful here they will likely try and find a way to take out Spain's French and German regions.

Slovenia has been fighting a very close war with Croatia and has been losing a bit of ground. The Croatians haven't been able to push deep into Slovenia to wipe out the Slovenians yet and now that the Slovenians have the ability to go hide in Italy, the Croatians won't have a chance to wipe them out. Not only will this let the Slovenian's keep their MPPs going even if they do lose all their core regions, but it will also let the Slovenians attack Croatia whenever they feel like it which could help Phoenix in efforts to block or even invade Croatia.

If these attacks are successful for Phoenix it could spell trouble for EDEN. Tensions are already high in the alliance after the incident where the U.S. sent their troops to fight in Sindh rather then the key battle in Slovenia. Ever since this incident the U.S. media has seen quite a few articles from allies criticizing the attack and should this lead to Poland losing regions, the U.S. will almost certainly be a scapegoat for the rest of EDEN. When relations start to deteriorate like this it puts the future of the alliance at risk. While I don't see EDEN breaking up over this it is critical that EDEN nations start worrying together and not blame each other.

Now for an unrelated matter, I will be running for re-election in the state of Missouri this month. In the past month in congress I have fought against the huge income tax hikes and for more transparency in government, I will release more on this later.
