Should I stay or should I go...
OLloyd
I know what Rolo and Waldo’s answer would be, however I don’t really care all that much about their opinion. I logged in today and I see that congress is again raising the VAT to a stupid level AGAIN! It took us forever to lower it. Their excuse sounds lame, as far as I can tell the system has not changed how much can be removed from the treasury so no matter how much funding your giving MU’s your still limited to the 99999 CAD daily withdraw, which we have been able to maintain for the last year plus. I look at the population disappearing, we have more and more enemies because of dumb decisions made by a congress that has few active members participating.
I don’t see many of my friends here anymore, some have just retired and many are a part of the EPC. It appears to me that the people in control of the government are missing the point of the game and just screwing around the population. With high VATs no ambitions to gain control of regions that make sense to getting eCanadians resource bonuses. I have tried a number of times to get back into congress to be a voice of reason, however the players who are controlling votes are not helping me in any way, mostly because Waldo and Rolo know what my position is on most things (I rarely agree with the national Trolls).
So now that it is looking like an even less friendly environment for active players with opinions here in eCanada I am seriously contemplating leaving eCanada for greener pastures…
What I will miss the most is the TCO and all my friends there, but the TCO doesn’t have the influence it once had and the daily missions are not that exciting anymore (mostly due to this EPC issue). I understand and sympathize with the EPC movement, however I am not totally behind the implementation of the movement and I really don’t agree with those who are completely against the movement. The movement has a valid point and eCanada is not a friendly place to be in anymore, IMO. Sure MU’s get funding, but at what expense? High VAT? Low values? eGovernment disrespecting ecitizens…Trolls running things where isn’t good for anyone!
I would like to here anyone’s input on where to go and why not to go…It’s too bad the trolls rule eCanada right now…
And now for the eye candy my friends...
I think this pic is of Tem after Rolo took his brass balls away...
And for Katey

Don't go, we need moral players here in eCanada
Take a read once and a while
The system HAS Changed
$400,000 CAD PER Donation and a doubling of the MU Funding
But, GO, anyways, anywhere.....kthxbai
anan dank tekbir, seni seviyorum pirinc 😢
When did the donation change and does that mean that it's ok to just drain the eCitizens so that the crooked can take more out of the treasury? And could someone explain why any MU needs double the funding? Congress is out of touch...oh yeah that's right, Rolo is the congress now...since the pardon he can control more of it anyways.
Blaming Wally and Rolo for you not getting into congress? weak dude. Lots of people who they don't agree with have been elected, your failing to get in is a result of your failings, whether that be in your campaign, or in the message you send.
The daily donation limit has been raised, it is no longer 99,999 CAD, congress has decided to raise taxes in order to be able to donate more funds to MUs, so that our population can fight more and become stronger. To ignore this would mean being left behind as the rest of the eWorld adjusts to these new rules. If a player doesn't want to be in an MU, they don't have to be, but it is in eCanada's best interest to get ALL active citizens into a funded MU.
If you can't understand this, then perhaps it is time for you to leave.
As I said to the congress mailing list:
I for one, am strongly opposed to raising the VAT yet I voted yes. It was what the greater consensus decided upon and no matter how you look at it, our MU's need more money, now more than ever with ONE on the rise again. Something has to be done now. You can always open discussion about a more realistic taxation program later. The nice thing about this game is that nothing is permanent. Well, almost nothing.
Simply put, ONE is on the rise, UK is putting pressure on. Yes there are taxation alternatives and this is a short sighted decision. This is all to double MU funding. Unfortunately, we have to act now and this will serve as a temporary measure so we can compete to secure our bonuses. I plan on beginning a new discussion on a more sustainable government budgeting system. The ones opposed to the VAT increase are the minority in this case but we can't waste time arguing about it right now. The money is needed now, not after a 5 day debate. It's how government is supposed to work, and it's what I'm trying to bring back to the government.
Bye bye!
I continue to completely disagree with Leo... High VAT is bad for the country as it was bad for the country in the past. Economics is pretty simple and congress is ignoring that part of raising taxes. We have a lot of corruption in the MU's and little accountability built into the system. Please explain to me why we are throwing MORE CAD at already corrupt distribution systems?
And Rolo and Waldo are the problem as they drive active players away from serving! Not just from getting votes but also from persuing elected position.
And Leo, explain to people how come you have been playing longer than me and you are so far behind in experience? It looks like your not very active at all...Like most of Rolo's supporters.
Leos not with us nub.
lots of MU corruption and little accountability?
MU Funding Act gives us as much accountability as we can get
wow, where to begin..."High VAT is bad for the country as it was bad for the country in the past" when? cite some proof or are you just making stuff up?
"We have a lot of corruption in the MU's and little accountability built into the system." MUs get audited, there have been some errors, but no overt corruption found, yet. I will not argue that there is a chance that the system will be abused, but I don't see you coming up with any alternative plans.
"Please explain to me why we are throwing MORE CAD at already corrupt distribution systems?" simple, more CAD=more supplies=more fights=stronger fighters=stronger eCanada.
"And Rolo and Waldo are the problem as they drive active players away from serving!" You mean the EPC members? A rift like this is problematic, yes. Remember though, that Rolo was pardoned by 2 separate congress votes, some 'active' players left eCan before this and now use it as an excuse to stir the pot, oh well, it's a game.
"Not just from getting votes but also from persuing elected position." Okay, so yeah, Rolo buys votes. News flash, so do a fair number of congress people. Every month, many citizens pursue a congressional seat, not all of them get elected. Just because YOU can't get elected, you find it easy to blame Rolo and Wally, that's your problem dude, not theirs.
"And Leo, explain to people how come you have been playing longer than me and you are so far behind in experience? It looks like your not very active at all...Like most of Rolo's supporters." Alright, you want to attack me, cool bro. I took a year off the game when my son was first born. I felt it was more important to do that than play a stupid browser game. Since I've come back I've been a 3x congressmember, VP of CPP, AG, Cabinet member, Commander of HOPE among other things. What the fark have YOU done?
Also, just because I don't blame everything on Rolo and talk to Wally (with whom I share a professional relationship outside of the game) doesn't mean I support them.
And the fine rhetoric and play style in eCan threatens to drive out yet another active, long-term player. Enjoy your sinking ship.
This is rapidly getting out of hand. Lighten up people.
OLoyd, the VAT increase is an immediate implementation to help us compete on the world stage. Yes, it's terrible and a prime example of poor economics and compound taxation. But it is NOT permanent. You can't possibly more opposed to it than I am. Relax, let it go and contribute to the new debate on coming up with a sustainable taxation system.
Rolo is not controlling congress. In fact, he has possibly less influence than ever before. Most surprisingly, he's even contributing. Some of his followers not so much, but that is a very small minority. The VAT increase was not put forward by Rolo, nor was the MU funding increase.
Leo, being uninformed is no call for hostility. OLoyd is passionate, yes, but presented with information, the RIGHT information mind you, he has shown the ability to adapt in the past.
There is little to be done about electing corrupt MU officers. But there is much accountability. You can always request the data from the most recent audit and see how the funds are being used. Every single member of an MU can benefit greatly from doubling their supplies and help us put more damage down daily against UK, who has found a backbone again and will be giving us a run for our money.
OLloyd isn't uninformed, he's ignorant.
Uncorporated, you understand what it's about and it's unfortunate you're stuck in the middle of the tug-o-war as you try to hold it together. As a general rule, people who encourage someone to quit a team or drive them out by other means do not make very reliable teammates. All the best wishes to Uncorporated.
Leo you probably were not active last time we all had a big discussion about a high VAT and how and why to lower it...Look at the numbers that the MoF has put together from the last year of VAT movement, compare it with the amount of goods sold and corrolate the VAT. The lower the VAT the more product can be sold. And we have data to prove it. Why is this, because when the VAT is high prices go up, when prices go up the CAD has less value (you can buy less with the same CAD) And businesses that produce things make less profit (when they employ players). So if they are making less then they can not pay as much so the employee can buy less. Now we add more money to the MU's to distribute, but wait, we are giving more CAD, but we are taxing more, so we are collecting more CAD from the same product. There is a point when this logic breaks the economics of the system. The platobot can and will only buy so much. We are in for a rough ride with high VAT. If you can not understand simple economics then maybe you should consider leaving congress. Congress is breaking eCanada financially. The only MU's who will do well are the MU's who are not buying the bulk of their supplies, those who make a good portion of their own supplies. Also don't forget if you give MU's more funding we are still limited to a set amount of recoverable health a day...(unless everyone is buying health kits with their extra MU funding...)
OLloyd, that wasn't the eye candy I was hoping for when I clicked your article. I am disappoint.
he asked for our opinions, Plugson, and when I gave him mine, he attacked me for it, but I'm the bad team mate. The hypocrisy that comes from the ex-ruling class is hilarious.
It's allright Leo, relax a bit. Yes, he could have worded things differently but that's OLoyd. His opinions are a little, well, opinionated. And so are yours. Which is probably why you guys get to grips so often.
Also, ignorant and uninformed have the exact same definition. Just one sounds hostile because it's been misused so often. Try and reverse the situation a little. You just had a long discussion about something a few months ago, then you were gone a couple days on a drunken binge of awesomeness. When you finally get the time to sit down and see what's going on and see that the very issue you thought resolved months ago get thrown out the window, it doesn't feel good. When your as dedicated to your causes as much as you two are, it's easy to give a strong response.
Don't you think it would be easier to perhaps just give him the information and leave? He can review it later at his own leisure.
OLoyd, please try to stick to what's going on. Anyone who knows what 2 cents are for can see this is a very misinformed decision. The law is going pass, you can't change that. Would it not be easier and far less stressful to instead offer a counter plan and educate some of the congress officials on compound taxation? As long as we can issue a new proposal on a more long term and sustainable option and implement it in less than 30 days, no lasting damage should happen to the economy. Surely you can see this.
I am BOTH your sides. Know why? Because you two are on the same side. It's easy to see when you filter out the issue from the fluff. So instead of letting this get all out of hand, why not work with me on a new long term and sustainable taxation proposal?
And Plugson, perhaps I should not have waited so long before my interference. Many things would have been different. Believe me when I say that things will change. My plans tend be a bit more long-term than most people perceive. Try to think of you, the EPC and the rest of those that have left as a vacation rather than giving up, when the time is right, you will know. Enjoy your time off, it's well earned 🙂.
hehe I approve of the new pic!
Dang it OLloyd, you've been taking pictures of me at work again? 😃
Preach me more.
OLloyd, I was around then, and I backed you at the time, this time however, we are in disagreement.
I do hope you stay around though, eCan needs folks with differing opinions.
Apply for USA and keep trying till you get in
Leo, I can see my comment did not fairly apply to you so I'll revise it by saying that you and OLloyd were not seeing eye-to-eye in a debate, but you're obviously not trying to push him out of the country.
However, my comment still stands for eCanada's future CP of April, 2012.
Fight fight for your rights!
