Secret Presidential Briefings now Public

Hari ke 1,909, 11:37 Diterbitkan di USA Amerika Serikat oleh Israel Stevens

I know there are a lot of people in the United States community that for whatever reason, have chosen to avoid our National Forums, and that’s fine. That’s not what I’m writing about.

Over the course the of past week, many of the Presidential Daily Briefings(PDBs) have been declassified. You can read what most of the Presidents from last year did during their term. Below is a list of the newly public archives, and some of the notable things that happened during their terms.

President Oblige's library has been declassified. Check out the link below!

Oblige's Presidential Library - December 2011 - March 2012.
First 4 consecutive term President, first time getting full bonuses. Chile kicked from Terra, are but a few of the topics.

Artela’s Presidential Library - April 2012 and May 2012.
American invasion of Poland and the wipe of Hungary.

Israel Stevens’ Presidential Libary - June 2012 and September 2012.
CTRL and Tank Up to Rank Up created. As well as two major module changes.

Evry’s Presidential Library - July 2012.
First collapse of CTRL as well as the American invasion of Canada.

Glove and Civil Anarchy’s Presidential Library - August 2012.
First time in nearly three years a President was impeached. Battle of the Alliances, Civil Anarchy’s plan to start dropping bonuses.

The notable exception, is President Oblige’s library. I don’t know for sure why it hasn’t been released, but I suspect it is due to the large nature of it. 4 months would equal 6-7 pages. That is a lot of posts to go through and redact.
Otherwise, the forum holds the public records of all Presidents dating back to Josh Frost’s final term in December 2010. You can view them all on this board.

What has been redacted?
Emails, phone numbers, facebook profiles, etc. Basically, just personal information. A lot of the cabinet text each other to communicate and their phone numbers and email have been removed to protect their privacy.

What is a President’s Daily Briefing?
This is where the cabinet posts every day. Each new day, is a new thread. You will see discussions on everything from alliances and wars, to elections and new player programs. Marching orders from the President, updates from Secretaries, advice from the stable of advisors that each President employs. The PDB covers everything that the President is responsible for.

Why should I bother reading these?
This is a great way to learn the history of the country. You can literally pick any day in history, and read what happened during that day. Important articles, battles, elections, it’s all listed and talked about. Or if you are interested in learning how the country is run, and what each Secretary does during the course of a normal day, you can read it here.
This is also a great way to learn about what the Presidents are really like. Some of them are drastically different in private than they are in public, or have a set of preconceived ideas surrounding them that aren’t necessarily true.

This is awesome! I want to see some commentary on these terms!
Well, you are in luck. There are also discussion threads for each of the libraries. They can be found here:

Artela discussion thread.
Israel Stevens discussion thread.
Evry discussion thread.
Glove/Civil Anarchy discussion thread.

Enjoy the read!

Going through old internal government records is one of the best ways to actually learn how the eUSA government operates internally, minus all the hype and propaganda in the public media. It is also the best way to learn what the players themselves are actually like as they participate in their governments teams.

Lots of the folks we elect as President or who accept Cabinet positions as a Secretary get so swamped by the workload that they stop writing articles, participating in the pulic forum, or engaging citizens directly in any real way during their terms. Then they stay quiet afterward because they are drained. It's leads to some pretty wide margins for public misunderstanding of how much these people actually do here. Going through the records is a good way to clear up those misunderstandings and learn what happened.

Excellent reading for any slow day. : )

Elitist pfeifferist propaganda trolling.

Just thought that I would get that in preemptively. Now Ajay doesn't need to bother.

I would like to point out on a personal note, I conducted most of my business on IRC or in the NSC Subforum. Those posts are not included, but for the most part are incredibly boring. Only a handful of meaningful threads there.

I must say that I am very impressed with this article. I will be even more impressed if when it attracts new -or even old- citizens to the forums what happens the first time they disagree with 'established meta gamers', it is they who hold they key to the future of those forums.

I also agree that READING, READING and more READING is the only way to learn the ways of the government, where have all the great debates over our Constitution; not since the amendment which created the biggest rift in American History has anyone even dared to go there.

It is great to see these PDB's being released and encourage all to READ them, along with several other sub forums -like the Public Congressional Forum; now if only the Military Command had such a briefing they would release.

All due respect Vanek, but you saying they are boring makes me wonder why you say that; maybe I should re-read those logs again...hmmm...interesting...!

Some of these have been pretty interesting to read through. It takes a lot of time to find the really good nuggets of info, but it's usually worth it.

I am truly amazed at the level of importance some give to this game. While we're on the subject, can one of you ex-eRep presidents 'declassify' the official recipe for the Fire Sauce at Taco Bell?
