Running for PP of ILP
Anthony Colby
Hello all.
It has been a while since my last article. A year and a half actually. I didn't realize it had been that long. But I have found as that the older you get the faster time passes. So for you twenty somethings a year and a half seems twice as long as us fourty somethings.
Anyway the reason I am writing is to let everyone know I am running for Party President of the ILP. There has been a big debate recently over the last election for party leadership. Well it happened. Whatever side you come down on so be it. Everyone has their opinions.
Anyway the reason I am running is to try to return the ILP to its' roots. Return the name to what it was, get the members talking again, increase activity and make the party part of the job of improving the lives of the members and all citizens of eIreland. Along the way I hope to make the game a little more fun as well. Ireland sorely needs some fun nowadays.
As for how this will get accomplished. I have no idea. lol.
Seems strange to have someone tell you to vote for them and then have them say they have no ideas. Seems strange to me too.
What I will do is talk to the members. See what they want. It is not my party after all. It belongs to the members. This is a collaborative effort. Not a dictatorial system where what I say goes. Most of you who know me I don't work that way.
I would also like as many of you reading who feel out of place in your current party or if you have no party and are looking for some place to belong then come give the ILP a try. You have nothing to lose and just may find some fun.
So remember please vote for me come election day.
I would very much appreciate it.
Thanks
Anthony Colby

All the best Anthony but:
"get the members talking again, increase activity"
Why must this be done at a party level, segmenting players into factions? Why not at a national level where work is done by Irish citizens for Irish citizens. Parties have always been a breeding ground for factions within our society.
That may be true Sluagh. I would love for Ireland as a whole to speak with each other. But sadly that does not happen. We have not done that for a long time.
From what I have seen of the press lately no one at all is talking. I know some talk gets done on IRC. Not everyone uses it and lets be honest, voices get silenced when they speak differently. I have seen it and you have seen it.
I also don't think that factions if you want to call them that are a bad thing. I see it as people with different opinions. Different opinions generate different ideas. Different ideas spark creativity. You can see where I am going with this...
😉
Anyway I also think many people don't speak up as they feel they are alone. It takes a brave person to speak their mind when they think they are the only one who feels that way. If I can help give people the feeling they have others who think the same way then that is for the better. Maybe they will speak up.
Everyone deserves the feeling that they and what they think matters.
Most everyone knows that I respect all ideas and players. I may not agree and will say so but everyone has the right to speak their mind.
But also with Congress now kaput with a dictator in place where can citizens speak but through parties?
Not many are talking as they don't want to really do the work that they talk about.
There was lots of talk about redoing the Constitution when we had one. For 3 months it was on every CP's manifesto (Elite C & WHS's). Yet not even a draft was ever written.
Over a month ago there was lots of talk about restoration of democracy (debate initiated by Fenoglioteam) and those of us involved in the Dictatorship said we are cool with it, but draft up plans, counter MTO measures etc etc before we even consider the return. Nobody worked on any plans like we had asked.
Point I'm making is, it's easy to criticise our failings on what we don't even favour.
The Dublin Commune is an open platform available to everyone regardless of party. Keetna Wilsons article as well as my own about voting drones shows the weakness of the election system, it is unfair and manipulated by citizens who aren't member of the community, and by community I mean those who actively play and take part. This manipulation has the ability to remove a citizens ability to voice their thoughts in congress (if that's the platform we adopt) by being pushed out from votes of drones, I wouldn't consider this in anyway fair and in fact even more limiting on democracy.
Anyone and everyone should be able to voice their opinions, and they can do that via articles or the commune. There is no punishment for speaking.
We are open to hearing everyone's suggestions on improving the nation. David Allenkey messaged me early on asking about the reduction in taxes on housing, we did just that.
If any citizen has any recommendation, they can always publish it, speak to us and we will address it, this isn't a big scary Dictatorship - ask LittleFishy sure. He arrived to eIreland, wanted to be proactive and has since become one of the eIrelands most key citizens.
The world is your oyster, fear nothing and be an Irish citizen. Don't hide in a faction plotting for a revolution as some people are.
I absolutely agree that a lot of people talk and then the work does not get done. I have been around for a long time and I have seen it time and time again.
But as you say there is no punishment for speaking? Ask the members of the ILP about that. All I heard was that Winston was running his mouth and that people decided that was enough and PTOed the party to shut him up.
Sounds like punishment to me.
But I am not Winston.
Winston is my friend, just as you are. Just as most everyone here in eIreland. I don't play games. I speak my mind. In fact I will speak up a little bit more thanks to Kurgan believe it or not. He chided me for not speaking up when I saw a wrong. He was right. I should have been more vocal. I think Winston was punished.
Being able to speak your mind also means that some minds may say stuff you don't like. If you value free speech you have to listen to all speech. NOT just the stuff you agree with.
So as a start I will try as PP. I have been a member of ILP for a while so that is where I will start.
And I am not plotting a revolution.
Well not yet anyway.
🙂
ILP members don't suffer and aren't excluded. Just WHS because he has been nothing but a troll and a stain on this country. Look around at government articles and you see his level of disgruntlement at everything and anything that is touched by the people he dislikes. He has zero willingness to cooperate with us, so we will no longer allow him to be ruin what we do have.
The PTO of the ILP is nothing to do with shutting him up, his party doesn't give him any more of a voice than he already has - another example of why we don't need these breeding grounds. Nobody sent Hank, he did as he pleased, people supported him cause they have a strong dislike of WHS and his constant slandering because things aren't how he likes them. Why does anybody need to be a Party President these days anyway? They have one role and that's appointing a presidential candidate. No certain party is needed for that either. Anybody should be able to run and they shouldn't need a parties approval but more a national level approval.
I don't agree with a lot of stuff Keetna says for example - but Keetna does it in a progressive open manner. That's welcome. We discuss the matter on hand and in the end, we have a vote if we reach that stage.
And if I did per say shut somebody up, all I can do is look to have a Dublin Commune remade excluding them. They can still publish articles, spread word of my arrogance and really paint me out to be the horrible person that I am. They will always have their freedom of speech, that is something I can't take away.
I also recommend if you are looking into getting active to join the Government. Moo is limited on availability and we may require a new MoC if that interests you.
Well there you go. You proved my point. Someone didn't like what Winston said. So they took matters into their hands to silence him.
Well I don't agree with that kind of thinking.
So I will try to remedy the situation by returning the party to the one created by the members who have been here for a long time. Any new members will have a say of course if they choose to be here but if they only came to PTO then they probably won't stay.
Maybe anyone should be able to run for CP. But that is not the way the game is set up. So parties are important.
But in a game supposed to recreate nations and politics it is kind of naive to think that there won't be groups of people who think alike joining together to make the country work the best they think it can in the way they think it should.
:You know me man. When have I ever done something that purposely harmed eIreland? I may make mistakes. Probably will again. But I do what I can to try to make things better not worse in my way.
Great discussion though.
Look in the party thread and see how I was treated in that party over five months. Most of the nasty posts were deleted. It was never an inclusive party. When new young players joined and ran for PP they were run out. Your trying to return someone to power that has used voting drones. I personally wrote all ILPmembers twice and asked them to join the commune except WHS.
Bulls**t
You were a PTOer and treated as such
and no new player was ever run out of the Party unless they had ties to the K*%ts Anyone saying anything to the contrary is a liar
Well I was on my little sabbatical when all that went down only just having returned a little while ago. I will do my best to see that everyone who wants to be a team player will be able to be.
The only silencing he gets is by not being included in Dublin Commune debates as I don't want his trolling and petty behaviour. An example being in the Constitution days when he proposed the changing of our language to Croatian and we adopt the name Cromegaland due to the influx of citizens due to CrOmega. That's his pettiness.
Well yes but what does the ILP believe is the best way to run the country, thats what we've asked for years. The ILP has never set out any policies etc which is what annoyed me greatly about the "politcal" aspect of eIreland. Parties fail to give us an actual guideline of their policies and principles. Publish them and then we are talking politics, until they are nothing but breeding grounds for factions who dislike other factions.
And you know me, I give everything for this country and I guess I go beyond principles and boundaries to do it. That unfortunately is the difference between our form of governance. My method is one loyal devotion to national progression, WHS's is one of bickering until a verdict is made and and the losing side remain bitter.
As I ask all our opposition.
What would you like changed in eIreland?
What measures would you put in place to protect the nation from PTO/MTO in a game mechanic functioning democracy?
ah Sluagh there I was thinking you had mellowed into a functioning human being again...seemingly not and now are just a full time Dic tator

Anthony,
You wish to defend the importance of National Politics.
Hank is a contentious and outspoken outsider who steamrolled your party primary on the back of anti-establishment grass-roots support.
This exact thing just happened to USA's Republican party in rl.
In light of the fact his actions clearly model legitimate first world political behaviour, by what criteria are you basing your accusations of impropriety?
Best of luck in your party election. Regardless of the outcome, Hank's actions seem to have reanimated you as a player so, it's already a win.
Anthony as you can see me and you engaged in debate where as WHS has contributed in nothing constructive, or in any way addressing an issue.
Draw your own conclusions about the problems existing and tell me whose looking more lenient to creating a community exist within our nation.
Thank you Sweet. Yes I can see the parallel between rl snd here. Scares the crap out of me. Lol
But if I don't try to do something about it I am not fixing things. Only complaining.
I am living in a rl PTO and it sucks.
But whatever happens what I try will always be constructive not destructive.
Slaugh, you are right in that we had a great conversation here. No personal attacks or anything. You say Winston got personal and attacked. Yup, I can see that. In the other article Hank called me a " wooden headed cunt" which is something I have never heard before. So are we even? Who the hell knows. I don't do that and won't ever. You can be sure of that. But that is all I can promise as I don't control anyone else.
Didn't see that slandering of you in his article, I don;t condone it as you are a player I do respect and want to be part of our community hence me poaching you back on at least two occasions!
Hank is a troll who plays on a dark sense of humour, I also see WHS in the same boat for trolling but with a sinister evil mentality.
Best of luck AC.
My best wishes.
I need to find time to read the comments of this article. They seem to be interesting.
Well I try to bring out discussion and debate whenever I can.
Constructive debate. Not useless, senseless name calling.
I think this was constructive. People expressing their opinions without getting personal.
Good luck!
Get some!
My administration has given out 11 Q5 Houses
300 Q7 Tanks
We don't track food but I know we've given out a tonne!
All to members of the ILP you simply PM'd us asking (some of whom have since come out to support WHS but whatever no judges held).
Will you continue these programs to our members should you win?
Hank. I support whatever makes us all better. Well within the rules of course.
Not accusing anyone of cheating. Just saying I don't condone it.
Yet you support somebody who openly refers to me as the c word? I don't see you condoning that...
Old mans club. This evening's special "Smoked Salmon".
I don't condone any name calling. No matter who.

AC deserves more respect than that!! shame on you.
Kevin is a domesticated house pet that lives in his wife's house. He admitted to being kept in the kitchen from where he does the dishes and cooks the food for his mistress. He even built an extension to his house with his pet hands. In it I read the desperate craving for recognition by his mistress. I guess if guest came Keving crying in the kitchen would stand by the door so that if the guest asks who build this extension his master would say its my pet that built this.
In his latest attempt at becoming pp of a decripit drone party I guess he wants to be master of the drones or something. One never know the motivation with house pets.
You never fail to bring a smile to my face Krakken.
