While the random and numerous threads about Religions in eRepublik continue to be made in the forums, what role does religion have to play in eIrish society given our terrible economic state?
And what is the government policy on the matter of religion?
Religion itself brings many things to society, positive and negative, and considering that most people on the Earth hold a religious belief, it can be very influential. How influential will it become as eRepublik develops?

Not so influential in erepublik.
Especially after some people assign themselves like a representative of the Christian world, like first church in erepublik and else, unnecassary, reasonless acts.
And yet we see people stepping forward to defend their faith on the forums...
Perhaps as eRepublik is improved and grown, it will become more influential.
At present though, everyone\'s pretty pro-secular or is a Dioist...

Science is also a kind of religion with it\'s dogma\'s and blind believers. There were times people believed earth is flat. Now they believe universe is held together by some strange and unknown \"dark matter\"

People that listen to what science has to say are usually good at math and physics, biology and other sciences.
Since 70% of all students hate math (because they are not smart enough) they could say that the others follow science blindly.
Blind are the ones that cannot understand science.
If it\'s too difficult for you, don\'t follow science.
There are other options.

And um that makes no sense at all,its completely flawed,people think for themselves even if they are wrong,like you are about most things youve done since you got here.
LOL! Science is no religion, and has nothing to do with faith. It relies on facts and proof, no blind belief.

Math is hard to study for some people.
I think we should have candidates tested in math before the elections.

My policy is not influenced by any religions or religious beliefs.

I don\'t care what religion people around me have, it is a Free Country and soon enough, it will be a Free Market.
Victor, I was actually very good at maths which got me into a technical university.
Science does have a basis in in reality. Most of it. But history up to present day is full of \"scientists\" that discover the \"N\" radiation (which does not exist), develop IQ tests (up to this day nobody defined what is measured by those tests), develop theories and lobby them until they are believed to be true regardless of lack of evidence such as the said dark matter, start projects like Biosphere 2 or SETI which have no scientific basis and can be hardly considered experiments.
Scientists do not follow each other blindly. But there are also many that pose to be great scientists that mislead the general public. The ones that have hard time understanding what science is.
And no Brian, science itself is not practical. Science only gives answers about the world we live in. Utilising this knowledge is the practical part. But such issues revolve around technology, not science. It is very common to mistake the two.
SETI had no scientific basis? They gather radio signals and look for an intelligent pattern. Where\'s the \"unscientific\" part?
There are enough stupid people to follow scientists blindly, and there are people that pretend to be scientists and are follow by these stupid people.
But this is hardly a religion. The best at misinforming the population are the religious types.
Look at the \"intelligent design\" they came up with, pretending to be science.

That would be my heavily considered opinion on matters.

Religion in it\'s concept is nice, it gives people a sense of meaning, a set of moral values, it helps the world. But practically, it is more like a tool to manipulate people and it has been used as such from it\'s beginning.
I wish I\'m wrong, but this is my opinion after what I\'ve seen so far.

btw you should know that religion and faith are like 2 circles that barely touch each other...something like \"do what the priest preaches...don\'t do what the priest does..\" just remember the Inquisition and so many crimes committed in the name of God
@Brian Boru: I don\'t think that what I said is out of context. This debate quickly became a science vs religion one and I believe that they are not mutually exclusive beliefs. And in terms of science being practical, have you ever heard of quantam theory?
It is truly fascinating and a highly important area of science but it can hardly be called practical...
@Spadesharp: That may be a good point but I don\'t thnk that actions taken in the name of a religion should be held against the religion itself (unless they actually condone it). For example the Inquisition was hardly the most christian of society\'s now was it?
