Ranking and Statistics for Week 07.2012
jotapelx
Hello,
This newspaper has been born out of my curiosity concerning the distribution of resources, the number of regions and the number of players that effectively each alliance has. Based on the information gathered in the http://www.erepublik.com/en/newspaper/sentimental-journal-225328/1 I was able to extrapolate the alliances, although I didn't follow through all it's data because there are some Neutral Countries in the Sentimental Journal that based on their MPPs they are clearly aligned to one big alliance or the other.
I also wanted to analyze the data based on the Big Alliances TEDEN vs. ONE which are in effect the real alliances behind the game.
What I'll try to do is at least in a quarterly base to update these Rankings, and the Statistics behind. After the extraction of the data it was very interesting to start creating graphics all over the place. Today I'll start with the Basics, defining the Alliances and mapping each country to the corresponding Alliance (This data can be wrong, please put a comment or PM me and I'll update it) and evaluate the number of Regions and its resources.
I would like to say I'm sorry to my countrymen for the fact that this article is in English, but I would like to reach a wider audience. A portuguese version would put this article too big to read.
The data of these statistics is from day 1552 - 12:00
The Alliances are divided in three major blocks:
- TEDEN;
- ONE;
- and Others
The Military Power of a country is driven by the Military Units and the damage they can provide in a war, since that information is not available yet. The next best thing is a territorial Ranking, which comprises of the following rules:
- The Number of Regions is independent of the original regions, just a plain and simple number of regions.
- The Number of Distinct Resources, the bonus of production is done based on the distinct resources and not the total number of resources available for each country
- The Number of Weapons Resources, just to distinguish from those that has the same number of resources and put a militaristic edge on this ranking.
- The Number of People that voted in the last Presidential elections, the total population provided is not the most realistic indicator and it was decided to use that indicator as the number of active players.
The Data provided allows us to map the total number of regions to each Alliance.
And then break the data into each Big Alliance
The numbers are staggering: TEDEN has 457 Regions and ONE has 87 Regions
The Economical Power of a Country can be calculated based on the number of the distinct Resources that data is available in the previous Ranking.
The Data provided allows us to map the average of resources to each Alliance.
And then break the data into each Big Alliance
And that's all folks. Based on the data extracted I'll add other views to the information, some will be useful other will be just for the fun.
In order for this information to reach a wider audience, please vote, subscribe and shout this article.
Best Regards,
jotapelx

V, Excelente trabalho !
Não percebi o ranking militar minimamente... parece-me que usas criterio que nada têm haver com força militar para definir um ranking militar, não faz grande sentido.
Bom artigo e obviamente entendo que não consigas fazer 1 ranking militar melhor por falta de dados
Great! Bom trabalho
To my English readers: I was using the same naming convention from the Sentimental Journal concerning the Military Ranking, with a small catch, in the Sentimental Journal it is considered the amount of regions besides the original ones. For clarity sake, I will update the "Military Ranking" to "Territorial Ranking"

Bom artigo jotapelx!
Em relação às regiões, na minha opinião faz efetivamente mais sentido utilizar as regiões adicionais, já que em termos de originais os países têm grandes diferenças. Ou seja, as adicionais demonstram melhor o sucesso militar que esse país está a ter.
Votado!

@Shadow6463: I'm capturing this information from the eRepublik Site and I've only started this week doing it, which means that I don't have the information behind this point. If I have access to the number of regions that each country had on that point in time, I can clearly make the remaining graphics and analysis.
hihih
Bulgaria have less resurs thane half TEDEN 🙂🙂
10 contrys have more resurs than BG even 2-3 contrys from ONE have more resurs than BG
Votado.
USA starts out with about twice as many regions as a normal country, shouldnt that be added to the equation in any way?
@Salem Al Fakir: In my next article, I will take that into account, creating(or reusing) a new type of ranking based on the balance between original regions and new regions,
This ranking is just a territorial one. I also believe that to maintain so many regions is not as simple as that, and unless you have a very good control of your army the damage can be completely disperse and lost.
O.o Mother of God! What a great work!
Boted!
