One Week In!

Day 2,693, 20:58 Published in USA USA by jadiv

One week ago the leaders and senior officers of SEAL Team 6 and the eUSA Military began the process of informing each of our communities of the merger of the two units. We began moving folks into a single MU structure in the game. During this past week we have also combined commune and supply structures and established community wide IRC channels. Stop by our public channel: #MUrged Other things still being worked on, and of high priority, are a common forum and common recruitment effort.

Military Units in the eUSA, and broader game, run a large spectrum of institutional types; some are government subsidized, some highly subsidized by single individuals, some linked to parties in the game. It has been the tradition of both our units in the past to welcome all. This will continue to be our strength as we go forward. There is a full range of party members and interest represented in the SEAL Team 6 – eUSA Military merger. Some are interested more in the economics of the marketplace, some politics; it is our hope that we can provide some positive experiences in the battlefield component of the game.

There is a particular group in the game that we hope to include much more in the very near future, newer players. These folks represent the future of the game itself, and we are doing a horrible job retaining meaningful numbers of them. They need assistance, they need direction and mostly they need a community that makes the game interesting, even decipherable. Within the wider community now in our MU we have experience with recruiting and mentoring. Over the next few days senior officers from both merging MUs will be organizing recruiting efforts.

I would like to thank all senior officers from both combining units that have worked to make this merger possible. This past week has been a very busy one for them. As commanding officer, I have always relied on my senior officers as day to day staff to do what must be done to keep things running. I have already come to rely on folks from each of the former units to move forward. With Cubby as Executive Officer we will work to encourage efforts by all our officers. Their talents are quite complimentary and joint efforts are already producing results.

Finally, to those outside of our unit’s community; we have tried this past week to undertake our merger in a quiet, workman like fashion. The goal of this merger isn’t to create a splash in the eNations media or to threaten other units, communities or governmental organizations efforts. The merger was done solely for the continued viability of our home in this game. Although each MU had some unique culture and structural practices in the past, the common interest of those serving in both units was very similar – the game is just more interesting when you are part of a wider community. We can hope that our merger might encourage others in the game to look for ways that community experience can be enhanced by cooperative effort.
