On the first day of Congress...

Hello eUK!
Yesterday you elected a new 40 man Congress for the next month. As you will no doubt be aware, the first task of a new Congress is to elect it's Speaker for the next month.
This month I was the only candidate that had come forwards going towards the elections; so on the 24th I messaged all the top 5 PPs to ask if they had anyone running for congress that wants to run for speaker. I got one nomination, from hollenboer; he nominated Commander Dapper.
I checked again today, to confirm that Dapper was candidating for Speaker. Hollenboer said yes, so I launched the vote this afternoon. Just as I had run every vote in Congress over the past month, I used a simple Gdoc form. I messaged each member of Congress individually with the link to the form.
When I PM'd Dapper with the form, I got this:
After this Dapper decided he would deface the vote form.
I posted the previous screen on my friends feed, mainly because I found his self-styling as 'Lord Dapper' pretty funny. I didn't think much of it, I'd just delete his attempts at humour and move on.
Dapper had other ideas it would seem...

Yeah, there's probably some legit votes mixed in there but apart from that... I mean come on. You are supposed to be a Congressman, one of the 40 competent and mature players in the eUK. And yet this is how you act on the first day of the new Congress? You deface the vote form en masse so that I now can't tell the real votes from the fakes and am forced to use a laborious PM method to get peoples votes.
And you did this why, as a protest? A protest against what exactly? Is it aimed at your own incompetent PP who goes around nominating people for Speaker who don't even know they are being run?
You have embarrassed yourself, your party and the eUK Congress as a whole.
Oh, and don't cry to me because I made your childish bulls**t public, because the people that elected you deserve to see what you are like. Grow up.
I'm done. Oh, and when I say done- I mean really done. I'm quitting the game, or at least going to two click for a while. I really just cannot be bothered with playing this game at the moment, because it's just not enjoyable. See ya. Pulling out of the race for Speaker etc, I'll stick around to open PMs whatever but after that I'm gone.

I find your anecdote less than satisfying.
We all pointed out last month that the system didn't work. Surprise surprise it didn't work again.
PPs are not Congressmen, some of them will just not care enough to help the system function. Just have Congressmen step forwards themselves why introduce a middleman?

because this is completely worth an article and public attention. not at all to do with boosting ones own political position.
Er, it's to show what kind of Congressman the people of New Era voted for, how does this in any way boost my personal position?

Dont get me wrong i think new era are corrupt and they are idiots. However i also think everytime someone, like your goodself, writes an article banging on about them you only make them worse. New era is like a bad rash, leave it alone and it will go down. Evidence of this is when they all went to ireland new era went quiet. Dont provide amunition.

It's not cause of Dapper. I have exams coming up and I really can't afford to spend as much time on here as I have been doing, that's all. I might be back later in time o/

I find it surprising that the election process skips the step of asking nominees to accept.
1. You open nominations.
2. Ask people to second a candidate (or not in the UK case).
3. Ask the candidates to accept.
4. Vote.
Just saying.
In fact, been thinking about this because it bugged me last month, why does it not all take place in the Congress thread? Why the private emails instead of just one common election thread?
Hell, the first I heard of the whole election was last night, after apparently candidate were expected to have come forward. (Not saying i'm right for the job)
