Let's Fill eRep with Art

Day 2,266, 15:14 Published in Ireland Ireland by Paddy OBrien

I saw an interesting article by Homer J Simpson in his paper The Muppet Show. He had the idea of bringing art into the eworld and brightening people's day, as well as introducing artists to our world.

Following is his introduction and explanation of the idea: The way this works is you comment and I give you an artist. You then publish an article with this explanation and an example of the given artist's work. You then do the same for people who comment on yours.

His artist and work was Alice Springs Country c1955, by Albert Namatijira.

After commenting, I was assigned Sir Mathias Kauage. My choice of his artworks to display is Buka War.

Sir Mathias Kauage was an artist from Papua New Guinea. He was born in 1944 and died in 2003. In 1998, Sir Matias was awarded the Order of the British Empire for his services to the Arts, by Queen Elizabeth II. His chosen mediums included acrylics, metalwork, and drawing and printing. The National Gallery of Australia once described him as "Papua New Guinea’s best-known contemporary artist".
