UPDATE: ON PLATO FOUNDATION -:- Plato's Foundations was created to help players that provide entertainment and activity for the community. Despite it never stating any real framework. Our intrepid administrators and loyal brown nosers have established a Fort Knox type of framework.
If you read through the reasons for not giving grants it is usually some kind of lame excuse. Hence this competition was deemed a giveaway for no reason. As you can see on the global forum they are yet to respond to my questions there.
Anyway good riddance to bad rubbish on with the show.

I decided on this for the sake of fairness.

Edward De Vere was the first casualty. As all of his choices were eliminated.
5 players could still win this competition me, Ante, Million, Roroman and Sir Mort depending on the outcome of the semi-finals.
A brief History of this world cup:
FRANCE:
The French team won its first and only World Cup title in 1998.
In 2006, France finished as runners-up . The team has also finished in third place on two occasions in 1958 and 1986 and in fourth place once in 1982.
BELGUIM:
Belguim best result was FOURTH in 1986
CROATIA
Croatia was third in 1998
ENGLAND
England won in 1966 and was fourth in 1990.
So for 2 teams, it would be their second world cup win and for 2 teams they're first. Highlighting this world cup as the world cup for the underdog all the major contenders already having been eliminated.

ok lets start with first semi final. ,my prediction is that belgium will keep the 3 forward players but will be caught out several times causing confusing and contributing to their loss. predicted score France 4 Belgium 1.

I was so mad at my choices I had no clue at all about soccer I looked at who others picked and what countries live and breath the sport after the games progressed I regretted picking certain teams cause they played each other. Go figure erepublik CC made me care.

no sorry irishmanx . now that croatia has passed we have 2 winners ante and million. since they have 2 teams in the final.roroman and sir mort has france also selected so you cant reach 2nd or third. yes this was a great world cup. the underdog's world cup.
