Interview with BSP Leadership: Arrden edition

Day 4,732, 11:15 Published in USA USA by Kobble

Greetings to all the decrepit fools who still play this terrible game and to those naive new fools that may or may not be bots, regardless welcome to the community.

The Black Sheep have always been exactly what the name entails, the black sheep of this community. We subside on the outer fringes of the community, typically refusing to partake in the chaotic and exuberant roleplaying on the eusa forums and in game congress. Unfortunately, our unwillingness to join in on their charades has led to a lot of scrutiny towards us from a lot of the political ruling class. So, I’m here now to help shed some light to some of the people that may not know much about us.

I’ll be doing a set of interviews with some of the longest and most respected BSP members and leaders. Hopefully these interviews will help clear the air about why we do what we do and what we believe in for those few who only watch from the outside of the politico roleplaying.

The first interview will be with the old veteran Arrden. He’s been around a long, long time and he’s got some good things to say:

Heyo Arrden. I’d like to start off with an easy question, don’t want any nerves catching. Tell us a little about yourself. A quick tidbit of Arrden history and who you are today in this game.

- eUSA born & bred. Been playing for 9 years. Account never died. Never changed my name. Today I am a proud brother of The Blacksheep Family. The people that still remain there are the only reason that I have remained here in eRepublik. If not for them I would have left this continuously declining game years ago.

What do you think is the most important facet of this game?

- Ego's. A single players ego in this game can shake up a whole eNation or even the eWorld. Plato Co. has continued to financially profit off of people's ego.

What’s your opinion on the current resource war?

- Another business model by Plato Co. to increase profits based on the obvious necessity that players/nations need and want the best resources in the game for personal and national prosperity. This is the 2nd resource war in eRepublik history and it certainly will not be the last.

In this current climate of erepublik, in your opinion, what is the most important part of keeping a community, like the Black Sheep for example? What brings them together and what keeps them together?

- In this current climate in eRepublik there is barely much of a real community in eUSA left. Pertaining to the Blacksheep, I couldn't pick a specific "most important part" as the source of our solidarity. Maybe it's how we've always viewed and interacted with our own as kindred companions on this pixilated journey. Or our deep and unwavering sense of loyalty to our own. The consistent integrity and honesty of the Blacksheep leaders both past and present. Many things, and few things. And through the changing climates of the years, Castle Blacksheep still stands proudly, and with dignity.

In regards to the answer to the previous question, how well do you think the eUSA performs according to that?

- The leaders of the eUS community have failed for years to promote, maintain, or even encourage a true community of players where all true and competent patriots of this eNation are welcome. As long as there is government there will always be difference of opinion. But the continuous failures of this specific eCommunity goes much deeper than the various political differences that separate one domestic group or another.

In what ways do you think the eUSA can be improved?

- A good start to improving the eUS community at this moment is to have our colleagues on the other side of the isle desist in their nefarious multi account schemes. Stop cheating. Stop breaking the laws of eRepublik.
Also, the rhetoric in the eCommunity. Absolutely repulsive. All these years later, I still have to beg for basic and common decency when being addressed.

In what ways do you think the eUSA can be improved?
Can you give us a little history lesson on the BSP? Why does it exist? Is the purpose behind it’s original creation still pertinent to the climate of the eusa today?

- eShades has a story to tell:
http://eblacksheep.net/forums/index.php?topic=3.0
( RIP ★ eShades ★ )
Is it still pertinent today? I suppose in some ways yes, and some ways no.
It shows you what a unified eUSA community could and did accomplish when all patriotic players are treated equally and with respect.
How ever I haven't been given any reason to believe at all in many many years that this kind of community is at all possible to obtain again in this day and age of eUSA/eRepublik. Too far gone.

What would you say are the most important ideas of the BSP?
Go ahead and summarize BSP in your best opinion.

- I would say our most important core values is our high regard for basic decency and respect in how we interact with one another. Being pleasant don't cost you anything. Being pleasant is always the beginning of the most cherished of your life's companions. And it could possibly make all the difference when you're in a complicated relationship to simply try and be pleasant.
How ever, I will not fabricate and say the Blacksheep has never been antagonized to the point of losing our temper. We can not stomach disrespect and disregard. Or when one of our own is unfairly scrutinized and attacked. I have said times before in the past that Blacksheep will always "return what is brought to our doorstep" That could either be good or bad. The choice is yours
.

Any plans moving forward regarding the party?

- Simple. Continue to maintain the dignity and standards of the party in what's left of the turbulent eUSA community.
I wish I could glorify a message of the Blacksheep "growing in members" & "winning more congress seats" and other progressive party accolades common to past political party propaganda, but that would be a fabrication. I am not the player to fabricate, and this is no longer the eRepublik where those tactics are legitimately* possible.
I will stay the course, and try to steer us clear of the rocks and shoals if it's possible.

Any spicy memes to share?

And finally any last remarks?

There you go, fellow eusa citizens, the first interview is done. Feel free to share thoughts down below, whether it's hate, because this community can be hateful, or good. We can take it, no worries.

Look forward to the next interview coming up, most likely next week.

Stay Black, my friends.
