So here's a poem

Bean Sléibhe ag Caoineadh a Mhac
(A Woman of The Mountain Keens Her Son)
by Pádraig Pearse

Grief on the death, it has blackened my heart:
It has snatched my love and left me desolate,
Without friend or companion under the roof of my house
But this sorrow in the midst of me, and I keening.

As I walked the mountain in the evening
The birds spoke to me sorrowfully,
The sweet snipe spoke and the voiceful curlew
Relating to me that my darling was dead.

I called to you and your voice I heard not,
I called again and I got no answer,
I kissed your mouth, and O God how cold it was!
Ah, cold is your bed in the, lonely churchyard.

O green-sodded grave in which my child is,
Little narrow grave, since you are his bed,
My blessing on you, and thousands of blessings
On the green sods that are over my treasure.

Grief on the death, it cannot be denied,
It lays low, green and withered together,---
And O gentle little son, what tortures me is
That your fair body should be making clay!

Here's a painting by J.B Yeats

eIreland is really on the backfoot atm. We've been wiped. OG players aren't just leaving for greener pastures, they're quitting the game. (Sure, there is no greener country than Ireland to be fair)

I used to try really hard to engage w/ the community by doing interviews, posting eFiction and the like but now I spend about 5 mins here every other day while checking emails. This is an old game, it has a history spanning long before my time but in my 7 or so years things have never seemed so grim, so soulless. I'm sure there's a multitude of reasons as to why it'd appear that way to me but I won't pretend I know why. I'll still 2-click and perhaps there will be a jolt of community activity in the future but I won't hold my breath.
One thing is indisputable; eRep is incapable of drawing a new generation of players. They hardly advertise and that's by design.

If they did no one would go for the obvious skinner box game that it is.

Buyer Beware/Caveat Emptor folks,

ya boi
