Disinformation Governance Board

In response to Elon Musk's purchase of Twitter the US Department of Homeland Security has a new "tool". Being referred to as the Ministry of Truth, the main duties of the DGB is to inform Americans of what is correct and what is disinformation. Apparently Mr. Musk's threat to honour the 1st Amendment to the US Constitution by allowing free speech on his social media site is not to be allowed. This is not the first time a government has decided to help their citizens to think correctly.







Senator Joseph McCarthy called up political, military and businessmen before US Senate Committee to refute charges of being Communist, pro Communist and Subversive. Here's his response to Democrats wanting to censure his vicious attacks.

So Does Anyone Know George Orwell?

Short version...
He was an English dude (Eric Arthur Blair) that wrote freaky books before Stephen King and Dean Koontz. You may have heard about various books, but most famous would likely be "1984". Which is past history for us but was in the future back in 1949 when Orwell wrote it.

The book is set in 1984 in Oceania, one of three perpetually warring totalitarian states (the other two are Eurasia and Eastasia). Oceania is governed by the all-controlling Party, which has brainwashed the population into unthinking obedience to its leader, Big Brother.

Freakishly, several things that are in the story either have happened or could conceivably happy in our real world today.
